You're onto something, Travis. Really like the vibe all of your videos are sending. Truly insightful talks as well. Last, but not least, your photo's are ❤
Thanks for another great video. Your videos have made me think about the importance of spending time reflecting on the shoots that I do. It seems like the time you spend in reflection during the creation of these videos helps you to process...life as a photographer. I look forward to your future work.
I appreciate that insight - you’re spot on. I like giving things some time to breathe - helps me figure out if something is worth sharing, keeping, or destroying. 🤘🏻🍻
Probably the most relatable RUclips video I’ve ever watched. Thanks for sharing your thoughts - glad you decided to make this video. Cheers, man. (Beautiful photos as well)
Another enjoyable video worth spending my time on...sure enjoy the perspective on the journey, make them for yourself, and we'll keep watching...I got on to you from your Iceland vid, with only watching one other Iceland video of a guy melting his drone over the volcano...
hey travis i first noticed your videos a few weeks back as im too looking to make some youtube films not for money but more for pleasure, keep doing what your doing your videos have a unique style to them you are very easy to just sit back and watch 👍
I appreciate your videos not because they're flashy with lo fi music or other stuff RUclipsrs use to get views. I watch your videos because they take me places, they make me think, they remind me of why, I, a non pro guy with a camera wants to go out, and record a sliver of time and freeze it so I can re live that moment later. I hope you keep making these videos, even if its Yoshua Tree at high noon lol.
I honestly did try the low-fi stuff - but I just couldn't find anything that fit and I couldn't get the feeling right with my work. Props to those who can, but I like the way mine are evolving, I don't need house music underneath my narration. 🤘🍻
Such a heartfelt video, the end was definitely a tear jerker and a solid message to any creative. Do it for YOU. I find myself creating so many more images then I ever share with the world, simply so I can scroll thru them when I want to look back and remember when... I found you during your initial upload of videos, and appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos. I love your work, your insight, your sarcasm, and snark. That's a hell of a quote - and it's resonating with me, the challenge is the end - coming to realize it. But yeah, I'm the same way - I've got binders of processed film that no one will ever see (most likely), but for me it has always been the passion of trying to be a better photographer with every next frame, but also making these memories just for me, for where I was in that moment and what it felt like to be there...then. Appreciate the love.🤘🍻
Who cares about the RUclips algorithm... for people that actually care about real content, your channel will pop up in their feed. Great photos! And keep doing this, I'll wait patiently to see your next video. Create them on your time, and don't change a thing.
Making art through trying to make content is often times creating from a place of fear which is never a good place to be creative. I like to make photography videos to encourage myself to get out there and practice my filmmaking skills alongside my photography skills. Often times I find while making videos that I create some of my best work just by making myself go out. I think the trick is to not abide by any sort of forced schedule, my goal is a video a month but I don't kill myself over it. Forcing yourself to abide by the rules of social media is completely antithetical to making good art, RUclips is a pretty good place to create larger bodies of work that can exist and gain traction over time taking some of that pressure off. Folks like Kyle McDougal, Bryan Birks, even Alec Soth has a RUclips channel (and tik tok!). Its just how we choose to engage with it, in my opinion. Great video though! Now I want to find that swing set in the lake...
I love Bryan Birks' work - his large format work is exceptional. And you make a great point - I've never thought about it through the lens of setting a cadence in terms of making myself work/create/photograph, but I think that helps to push through stagnation - helps you continually create. And that's what I want, I never want my brain or my camera collecting dust - whether that warrants a video or not shouldn't influence my motivations. 🤘
Love the videos my dude, but I hope you’re just doing things to do without thinking too hard. It’s okay to just make an action without needing reasons. It’s okay to let be BE

I appreciate that big time - nice to hear when something you're passionate about connects with someone else. 🤘
Gripping and thoughtful. I completely lost it in the last 20 seconds. So powerful, Travis.
Well done.
You and me both, Alan 🤘🖤
Love this. Keep it up. Especially the frank discussion.
I tried, in the beginning, to be less...straightforward and blunt, but in the end - F it, sometimes things are what they are. Appreciate the love 🤘
Nicely done Travis! I think they’re a lot of people who can relate to your philosophy and process. Refreshing to hear your thoughts. Keep on keep on!
Appreciate the love 🤘🍻

It's gotten a little better, and I've got the itch to just go make something really bad right now!
