I use dairy as an aid. I can feel more inflamed but have given myself the ability to choose. Heavy whipping cream is a treat for me when my family had ice cream. I add to decaf coffee...and this has kept me on track. In all other areas I have no problems. I have lost 35 pounds and have another 100 to go. This self tolerance and balance has made me successful right now. As my journey continues, I have the ability to update as needed. #self-love

OMG THANK YOU Bella. I’ve been struggling as my mother has late stage Alzheimer’s and has been struggling with daily crying/distress and my father who is her primary caregiver just got diagnosed with cancer last month. I can 100% relate with how the stress and emotionality of this type of situation can so easily throw us off our track. I have struggled with guilt, sadness, distress and even letting all of it filter down to my relationship with my partner. I have definitely gained weight and struggled despite trying to stay mostly carnivore…I’ve had good days and really really bad days too. I am following your journey closely as it so mimics mine. Thank you for giving voice to this reality that we all confront at one time or another in our lives. Really really needed that. ❤

I'm an abstainer too! 100% is easier than "half-assing" anything. You have a truly wonderful team at your side. We often learn self-compassion from others who love us. We learn to be self-compassionate from the compassion they gift to us. My 2 cents as a nutritionist, anyone would have gained weight or felt puffy from everything you've been through even if they had clean carnivore foods available because of the emotional roller coaster. Stress & Cortisol alone can do this to us. It's time to treat yourself with the kindness, compassion & knowledge with which you coach others. 🥰 One last note: You did it before; you can do it again! You got this!!! 🤗💖

I fell off the wagon for a couple of months and now I am struggling to stay away from the breaded foods. The foods that have sugar and ice cream and such. I did super great for 4 months and I felt super great and healed from almost everything. And I had a lot of health problems. I have stopped the dairies: cheese, milk and yoghurt. I realised it caused me to crave chips and sodas and such. Now I am at the point that I just give in to cookies. And I definitely feel the acid reflux, gassy, bloating and sternum pain. Now I basically have ground beef and eggs in the morning. I do tell myself that I am going to regret it. Now I am at the point that I am emerging myself in as many Carnivore videos as possible to flip the switch back to totally carnivore again. Thank you for this information. It does help.

@carmenhogan8879: Been there; it's hard to get back on track. But if you can stay away from the cookies for a few days, you'll lose the cravings. I often miss the CRUNCH of cookies, so this is what I did: cleaned a bunch of radishes, put them in a canning jar, filled with bottled water, and put inside the fridge. A cold, crunchy radish really satisfies my need for a crispy chew.
"Dr. Ken Berry" and "Go Keto with Casey" have good videos too.

The lactones in dairy can bring us so much comfort because it is a cellular reminder of the “bliss of infancy”. It’s hard to quit if you’re under stress. When I was nursing my son, he'd always get this beatific look on his face afterwards (no other way to describe it). I wondered what the heck was going on here and tasted my own milk - it tasted EXACTLY LIKE WARM VANILLA ICE CREAM, only even sweeter. Much sweeter, more sugar, than cow's milk. The 'vanilla' component was marked for some reason, even though it's not like I was eating vanilla anything to flavor my own milk... this explains why vanilla ice cream is by far the most popular flavor!

Having been through several extreme health and stress issues myself and coming out the other side (while spending decades studying ancient diets and real food and natural health) I have found some simple truths that really help
I wish someone had been able to tell me these truths years ago instead of having to be my own guinea pig... For those of us who really care about health and take it seriously there can be a few traps that no one tells you about.. You are an amazing girl and I have loved watching your journey... 🌺🌺🌺🌺
    1. If you are eating real food, not the modern health idea of real food BUT real food in its properly prepared state than take no notice of weight.
    2. stress will pour on weight due to cortisol increase which stores fat.
    3. Dont get tricked into blaming harmless foods and stomping on the brakes this will just put the body out of order all over again.(check number 7 for more detail )
    4. the body acts different under stress and needs MORE food not less even when its storing food.
    5. once the stress is over the body will take time to return to normal weight and any diets or sudden changes will only make it take longer.
    6. one can starve weight off and have smaller measurements but still be broken , dont be fooled by measurements or weight.... go ONLY by function.
    7. dont mess around with pasteurised dairy, this is NOT real food and cannot be judged as a food group, everyone is negatively effected by pasteurised dairy in some form or another. Dairy MUST be raw. the only exception that most people can handle is butter but if you can get raw butter go for it.. Dont leave butter out if you cant find raw.. For many years until I learnt how the body truly heals I thought I couldn't even handle butter.. It wasn't true.. butter was not the problem..
8.FUNCTION FUNCTION FUNCTION.. go by function. can you walk, talk, breath, make love, eat, sleep, work, play, rest, see, feel and hear... TAKE NO NOTICE OF WEIGHT... FUNCTION is the only gage to real health... skin, hair, eyes, nails are far more reliable than weight and measurements, but FUNCTION is King......
    9. Did I mention FUNCTION 😄😄😄😄😄
    10. a stressed body will outwit you at every turn until it doesn't feel stressed anymore...
    11. a stressed body needs nurture, abundance and safety but views restriction as a threat. (remember this is all in the light of real food not junk food restriction)
    12. remember that our world makes its money by putting impossible images up for us to view as our goals... but knowing that FUNCTION is the King will help us avoid this pressure to perform and keep our bodies in a safe environment..
Love your piano playing, such a wonderful gift you have, (I'm a musician myself)

I used to read about food ingredients when I started cooking for my autistic grandson, and I found out that cheese has something called casomorphin molecules, and your intestines have morphine recepters that the casomorphines fit into, which is why cheese is very addictive to some people. The gluten protein in wheat also has gluteomorphin molecules that fit into the receptors, and wheat has a molecule that fits into one of the receptors in the thyroid gland thereby blocking the molecules the thyroid needs for proper function.

Was committed and on track, eating properly and feeling good since Memorial Day. Then got food poisoning July 10. Having to go off plan to try to keep some nutrition without flushing it multiple times a day with diarrhea. A diet of rice, banana, toast, applesauce is so not carnivore. Yesterday feeling better I ate small burger for dinner but that also gave me the runs. Now my system needs a full reboot. I’m with you as you get back on plan, reboot for health, and start to feel good again. Won’t be easy as now my body is craving the carbs, but my brain needs real animal proteins to heal. Something in me told me to just to keep it simple as I started out… but eventually I decided to try to introduce dairy. My cravings went wild as soon as I had my first taste again. Now I’m constantly wanting cheese and Greek yogurt (and more), when before I wasn’t even feeling hungry throughout the day. It sucks but it’s clear as day that there’s a trigger/problem there for me.

    Great video as always!
On the snacks, cheese and coffee, this may help. (The quitting coffee one is tried and true...I'll let you know on the cheese in a couple of weeks!)
    On the Snacks and cheese:
Try making homemade jerky. You can do any type of jerky from a large variety of meats. I keep all of the fat on the jerky as I find it so tasty; just put the extra jerky with fat in the fridge to prolong it from going rancid. This may be helpful when you have cravings to grab cheese. I'm trying it this week because I too am addicted to cheese and even milk too (I'm far from perfect on this diet). The jerky is amazing though and I think it will help me and hopefully anyone who reads this!
    Quitting Coffee:
    Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
I personally had to quit because of an array of health problems caused by the caffeine in coffee that put me in the hospital with Bell's Paulsy (half of my face collapsed, it was a terrible experience with "suicide migranes" and yeah, not great).
    How?
Let's face it, we're not addicted to decaf. It's the caffeine that causes the addiction.
    How I quit:
I bought 2 bags of coffee, one bag of regular and the other bag of decaf.
When making coffee, I used to use 4 tablespoons of coffee powder.
Day 1: Use all 4 tablespoons of regular coffee.
Day 2: I did 3 tablespoons of regular and then 1 tablespoon of decaf. do this on Days 3 & 4 as well so that you don't put your system in shock. Do it with all coffee sessions throughout the day since you're drinking it more than once a day.
Day 5: Two tablespoons of regular caffeinated coffee and 2 tablespoons of Decaf. Do this on days 6 & 7 as well.
Day 8: You guessed it, 1 tablespoon of caffeinated coffee and 3 tablespoons of decaf. Of course, do this same 1/4 mix on days 10 and 11.
Day 12: You should do 4 tablespoons of decaf and do this as well on days 13 and 14. Then, if you are unable to just stop drinking decaf because of the habit, try to dial the decaf down by drinking 3/4 of a cup, then a half then just quit.
Also to note on the coffee, there are 3 teaspoons in a tablespoon, there were times that I went down to fast and adjusted by going down a teaspoon or two instead of a full tablespoon. I think my caffeine addiction was doing anything to hold on; either that or my own lack of strong will to just internally accept quitting and I was just trying to prolong my addiction and habit. Either way, I stuck to going down and it worked!
You can do this with a drip coffee, bialetti, French Press and my personal old favorite the pour over!
As for an espresso or nespresso machine, it might take some creativity. You might be able to buy refillable capsules that you can fill your self. Measure how much they put in and then put in your own 3/4 caf or 1/2 caf concoction. If not, switch to a method of coffee that is self measurable. You can do this, I promise!
Going down slowly instead of just quitting cold turkey is very beneficial to stop the flood of migranes on top of serious cravings coming your way if you try the cold turkey route which i've done with soda and it is not a fun 2 weeks at all. If you're bent on quitting cold turkey, do it when you're drinking full on decaf!
Sorry to blow up your comments with a novel. I just saw your video and I thought it might help. If not, no problem, I still love your content! You have literally helped change my life in the most positive ways and I hope I am able to help you in some way as well!

The other day I realised something. 8 years ago, my GP did tests and found I was lactose intolerant. The test also show I had sugar malabsorbtion. I never put the 2 together until the other day. Since eating carnivore, I have been eating dairy and not had too much problem. Also, if I do feel like something sweet, I have dairy over the sweet, but the Lactose is sugar, so because my body can't actually absorb sugars, that is why I shouldn't have dairy. Although it is the less of 2 evils, it's still a food I need to avoid. I can say, I am not addicted to dairy, it has become a habit I need to break and it would answer why I still am having tummy issues.
My challenge for my Carniversary next week is, eating ONLY meat, eggs and salt. No dairy, coffee or tea.

One important point about processed food and stress, (mental, emotional, physical, injury, illness, spiritual) - all of it dramatically INCREASES nutrient need. It is not just less nutrients available. Processed food is a big stress itself. It takes a lot nutrients, like thiamine and choline and magnesium, etc, for the body to get rid if all. Love the sleep and calm and peaceful breathing advice.

I feel like I don't eat enough on carnivore and cheese opens up my appetite which is a good thing especially with the fact that I'm going into weighlifting and need to be on a calorie surplass to gain weight. It is just a better to go with the raw cheeses. I also try not to over do it because of my history with acnee but other than that I am superglad that its carnivore. I think that this is a lesson well learned now that definitely I have a histamine reaction to the sugar alcohols and not so pure ingredients in those products. I find the longer I am from having eaten them. I THOUGHT that I had caught the flu! That's how congested and awful I felt Tuesday through Thursday. Then I realized the longer I went clean eating again? The more the symptoms disappeared overnight. I'm still slighty congested this morning, but feeling better every day I stay clean eating. So it's very unlikely I will slip up in that way again! It was awful feeling like that again.
