I got their title album the week it was released, &'ve been a Rycher since! I've been criticizing others about the new band & saying that I had no interest since Tate left.... UNTIL TONIGHT ! .. I just rocked out to the new bands 2019 concert... THEY ROCK !! I still Love Tate, & this video SOUNDS GREAT !.... SO LONG AS I DONT WATCH IT !!! So I say first, these guys do a fabulous job of duplicating the sound ! I know Geoff says this is an emotional achievement, & I still Love & respect him, & it just sucks when our favorite bands go sour & split ! So now that you know I respect the sound, I have to add some slight criticism, since I'm still in the 80's-90's... So, ...I see Todd Rundgren on guitar on the left, (wearing an aluminum foil shirt looking close to a winter jacket I had in 1980 with an ALFA_ROMERO patch on it from K-Mart !!), then the guitarist from "THE SEX PISTOLS" on the right... (I don't know Sex Pistols name because I'm a headbanger!! ), Then the bass player in the "skinny jeans" w/ the David Bowie Rainbow Boots!!, but what's most visually upsetting to me, is Geoff !... Geoff was the Heart of an 80's HEAVY METAL HAIR BAND !!... He looks like Adrians brother Polly from Rocky !!... With a beard & sunglasses !... or the bookie at the Horse Track ! I don't care if anyone is upset over that !....WTF ? ...are we dead ? I'm 51, but I still wear a concert shirt and worn jeans to my 80's Hair Metal concerts !! & bang my head !! I'm sorry, but I still feel young like back then.... Geoff has a gift with his voice, but I would bet it was Love gone wrong that made him leave his image, & that's why all this is emotional to him... I feel him!... I'm divorced & reclaimed my 80's single status ! These guys are good, I just miss the past !... God Bless Them all, & all us Metal Tubers !... Rock on !!
Can't believe Empire is 30yrs old..Feels like yesterday I watched that tour here in the UK..Poole Arts Center. November 11, 1990, Manchester - Brilliant times and one of the best Albums of the time.
Yeah, where have the years gone?! I saw them for the second time on that same tour, just a few nights earlier (November 6) in Liverpool. The band did a meet 'n' greet earlier in the day at a local record shop (remember those?), and i went along and met them. Seemed like nice guys, and they were more than happy to sign the sleeve of my vinyl copy of Operation Mindcrime. Incidentally, the first time i saw them was in September 1984 when the band supported Dio, also in Liverpool, only this time it was, ironically, at the Empire Theatre. \m/ (:o)
Real gutsy playing these tunes from when his voice was prime and still real high, it's what makes these tunes. And the back up band...at least give us a show guys! Always a Queensrych fan. But I wonder how much of this was put together hoping $$$ would be there for the nostalgia...
Scott Perry U rock, baby. Love QR and G Tate. Now fans of yours SP! U rock, baby!. Thanks for your work bringing shows to RUclips during this bummer Covid and political era - for those of us who weren't lucky enough to be there. mtw in L.A.
THANK YOU for posting this. We have tickets for this show for tonight, postponed to December. I'm going to be watching your video on my biggest TV in the house tonight at the same time instead. Thank you, thank you.
I had tickets for this show. He was suppose to play here in The Netherlands today. It’s been postponed till next year. I was so looking forward to this.
I saw this tour in Cleveland at the Beachland Ballroom just before quarantine. I'm so glad I went. It really was a great show. Geoff sounded good! Same songs but different order than this clip. Thanks to my Michigan buddy! Nice to meet you!
THANK YOU AND THANK YOU GEOFF TATE FOR GIVING US SUCH JOY....LOVING EVERY MOMENT OF THIS! NO ITS NOT THE ORIGINAL BUT AT LEAST ITS DECENT! TOP AND FAVORITE FAN LOVE YA'S MR. TATE!
Great to see Geoff sounding better than the recent past. I've been a fan of Queensryche since the early 80s, only saw them once on the building Empires tour when they did the full Operation Mindcrime album. Sadly the sands of time are passing by and the greats I grew up listening to in the 80s seem to be fading away.
Wow!!! Thank you very much! I m living in Québec city in Canada and we would like to see this show. I Did'nt Believe my eyes when I saw this show on RUclips. I did'nt believe my hear to !!!
Ya know I saw him with this lineup in a small club. The club was small and the crowd was small but the band brought the goods I was impressed. they didn't mail it in they killed it. I have seen other bands in larger venues mail it in. So for that reason I would go see Geoff and the band again they play as if they are playing a big arena. Give it a go when they are in your town .
Well...let me think. In 1984 they opened for Kiss (the Warning), in 1986 they opened for Ozzy (Rage for Order), In 1988 they opened for Metallica (Operation Mindcrime) all these I saw in the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi Texas. I did not get to see them for Empire or Promised Land, but the last concert was Hear in the Now Frontier. I bought some tickets for a concert for Geoff Tate in Corpus Christi in December. He is touring for the anniversary of Rage for Order (I think). He and his band will be doing both Rage for Order and Empire full albums. When I first heard the EP in 1983, I thought it was Iron Maiden under a different name or Bruce put a band together and put out an EP. But I saw them on the cover of KERRANG (does anyone remember that mag) and man was I wrong. Many were taken by that voice like Halford, Dickenson, Meine, and later La Brie (there are many more that are on the list but who could put that all in a post). I believe Queensryche lost that certain I don’t know what (I can’t write in French) when Chris Degarmo left the band. He and Tate were the writing powerhouse behind the songs and album themes. Just my opinion and you know that an opinion is like a certain stinky orifice and everyone has one. ROCK ON
Yeah I saw all of those tours too.....but in Sacramento, CA. Warning at Memorial Auditorium. You missed their prime for Empire and Promised Land. That band was a machine and the entire show was incredible.
I have had the honor and sincere pleasure to Host Mr. Tate at our hotels in Greece and Beverly Hills on multiple occasions. Not only is he a superb vocalist for Queensryche or Operation Mindcrime, he is one of most soft spoken, kindest, well mannered, polite and good soul we have had in our hotel. He knows, I grew up with him and Queensryche, this man is humble and loves his fans wears his heart on his sleeve for his fans. But now to his singing, the man is in his 60's and still sounds like he did back 1988 or hell 1986 for Rage to Order years. Sadly, we've also hosted LT the current Queensryche and let's just say this. No class, no manners and a complete jerk with absolutely no clue how to treat those are still Queensryche fans. Geoff Tate a masterpiece and Todd La Torre is simply rude and unprofessional jackass.
I am so glad Geoff has been getting his voice back. He went through a rough spot a few years ago.I thought he had just given up, but He sounds great again. This band isn't bad and I am sure with time they will develop intO a great band as well.
killsing01, really.....you think the guitar player with the flat G string sounded great? It’s terrible, listen again. The solos in Silent Lucidity and Is anyone listening made my ears cringe. His bends and runs were utterly terrible, like some kid noodling at Guitar Center with a 300 dollar guitar and 50 dollar amp. Stop it already, oh the humanity.
Thanks for making and sharing this video - a real pleasure to watch from first note to the last - hoping to see this show in person in Europe next year (probaby a 2000km drive - but FFS you only live once)
Have seen them live in the 80s,90s. Once they been touring with Metallica and believe me it was a perfect sound. They have blown Metallica from the sage.(And Justice for All-Tour-Germany)
I too went in thinking oh no.... I must say very impressed. This was actually very good. Does Geoff sound like he did 30 years ago. Well duh no..there are musicians who get this and fans who want every note and nuance to be exactly the same.... I am all kinds of proud of him for still being able to do this after all these years. I have seen Queensryche since the 80s up until a few years back and I tell you what I’d pay to go see him with this band!!! And to do 2 albums back to back?? That’s why only the musicians will get that.....
Wow great show. "Rage for order" is one of my favorite albums. I was just about to give them 100% perfect show when Geoff get out of tune at the beginning of "anybody listening" , he's one of my favorite singers on rock music, so it was hard to hear that mistake, I want to think maybe he didn't practice it enough..... I don't know. But I forgive him anyway, he still is a awesome singer.
I played that rage for order cassette of mine to death, mixed with rush, priest, Ozzy, scorps, Maiden, all the good shit from those days.some cool atmospheric textures during these songs, the clean guitar parts add to the whole vibe.& Geoff still has impressive vox
It's the bands who sound good live that gain the most respect from fans. Unfortunately, a band's venue can have poor sound equipment structure amongst other issues.
Except for the fact that unfortunately Geoff's voice is pretty well gone. He can't hit a single high note and his voice cracks a lot. I loved Geoff when QR was the original. I still listen to their first 7 albums constantly (up until when Chris left). I know live music doesn't sound perfect, but I saw QR on the Building Empires tour in 1991 and it was perfect!
Jeff Walsh, I'm with you... Geoff and band out there rock'n to entertain us day jobbers... hats off to him... this is great. I'll listen to full on rock n roll any day. Way cool RUclips. We live in a wonderful time to have access to this type of entertainment. Kris
I saw Queensryche at The Bayou in DC in 1984 and they blew my mind. Then I saw them again on the Operation Mind Crime tour at the Long Beach Arena in Cali. I don't know why and I don't wanna know why Geoff Tate isn't with Queensryche any more. I'm just happy he's out there playing.
Bruce Dickinson and Geoff Tate are my favorite singers ever Tate still sounds really good For his age of course Dickinson still almost sounds the same as he use to.
Love QR/Tate! Is Geoff what he was in his prime? No! No one was Geoff in his prime! However, the music produced in the 80s & 90s was fantastic and will last for generations!
wow. time takes its toll. I saw Ryche on the Mindcrime tour in 1989 and it was off the charts. The next time was in 2009 but by then things had gone downhill. Most of the new songs were lacking, and without DeGarmo things were never the same. When the main songwriter leaves you can always tell. In this vid Geoff just sounds, well, done.
Man Geoff and his band is sounding very Legit. The drummer and Scott Moughton are sounding freaking awesome to for not being on the europe leg of this tour . Great quality Video and sound KICKS ASS . Thanks Scott you ROCK dude \m/\m/....
Geoff has still a great voice and the song material from "Rage for order" and "Empire" is fantastic. Queensryche was one of my favorite bands in the 90`s. When Chris DeGarmo left the band the band slowly faded away. One of the band where the Original Line-up produced the magic of their music.
You have to admit Geoff can't hit the higher notes that made him & QR the best. I do agree once Chris left, it was over. There was something so incredible when QR worked as a cohesive unit. I miss the 80's & 90's!
Thank you for sharing. I saw the show last night in Fairfield and I thought Geoff sounded awesome. I posted a video of Empire and one of Silent Lucidity. I was very happy with the show.
GEOFF WILL ALWAT BE THE BEST SINGER QUEENSRYCHE EVER HAD ! ...IN 1982-1986 HE WAS second greatest vocalist ////THE GREATEST VOCALIST ever im metal .....TO ONLY ONE MAN ROB HALFORD.... THEY WERE THE BEST EVER...bruce is good .. amd hes got the greatest band ever....geoff tate ...everybody through age and other thing s lose the elite voice when they were in in there 30s. every album queensryche did was gold amd double platnum ....all of them a must have!
I had tickets to see this show at jergels in Pittsburgh, but got attacked by a kidney stone a couple days before the show and had to sit it out (couldn't do the 4hr drive). stinks, I think they sound really good for what the tickets cost, I would've been alright with it. thanks for uploading this.
Great albums!! I was such a big Tate (and Ryche) fan around the Mindcrime/Empire era. He still sings well, and sounds like Geoff Tate...just doesn't have quite the range he used to. Some of this was great...some (opening of Anybody Listening) not so much. He's still Geoff Tate. The band does alright with the tunes. I'm guessing the backing vocals and harmonies are pre-recorded, but if they're not ... kudos to the band.
Brutal una de mis bandas preferidas, sigo esperando por vosotros en España una vez pase esta pesadilla que todos estamos viviendo, we love u so much Geoff
I was at the show i had a great time i meet his daughter she got on stage she rocked i was invited to go to Ireland 🇮🇪 and hang out at the pub my last show before covid19 and now the show on RUclips. 🤟❤💯❤🤟
I see one of the biggest solo acts now, David Lee Roth, can barely keep eyes open... Geoff, I admire your courage, but gotta question your judgement. Such a huge production... Wow.
Nothing will ever tough the original Queensryche, but I've got to say - this is the best live performance of "Screaming in Digital" I've seen. I really like how they changed it up a bit. Wished they would have performed it like this during the "Road to Promised Land" tour with the demonic video screens! Edit: ...and that was the worst performance of "Della Brown" I've ever seen or heard. Such an amazing song and this was Godawful.
That was indeed a great version of Screaming In Digital, I just wish the backing vocals hadn't been so lacking. Those vocal harmonies are the hardest part of the song to replicate in a live setting.
I saw him last year solo and with Avantasia and he was fantastic both times. This is a big dropoff from what I saw in 2019 and I hope its just a cold. It sounds like a possible sinus-post nasal drip thing based upon the tone of his voice, the fact his voice was croaking on lower notes and his reluctance to hold any notes longer than absolutely necessary ---There is no question he is holding back here and many songs are tuned down. Another explanation is that he is trying to preserve his voice because of the aggressive tour schedule. I think there is one stretch where he performs 12 nights in a row, has 1 day off and then performs another 6 consecutive nights. Starting Saturday, they will be playing 4 nights in a row within easy driving distance from my place. I have tickets to 3 of the shows and pray to God he doesn't sound like this.
Going to see the show live tonight hopefully it’s better sorry your show was sold out brother but I agree with everyone he wasn’t sounding so hot definitely but I am a dedicated fan everybody has the right to have a cold or be sick and still perform regardless the job So a night out with some good friends the wife or whatever the case may be is always good either way may turn out to be a good show

Rock on !!
Thank You for posting this...just saw the Long island show and it rocked!!!
No problem Tom!
Amen! I saw them in the US in 1991 and there is not a better concert that remotely compares!
@@klistarf Ah great to hear..The good old day's.
I can’t believe it...I want my youth back!
There is many metal gods in the world but Tate is the biggest in my life
Should have been seeing this show in London next month. Gotta wait a while now, thanks for posting though.
This is what I missed for our cancelled show in Ft. Myers, Florida this past March. Thank you for posting.
This is probably the best Band that Goeff has assembled since being fired from Queensryche. Glad to see him perform with competent musicians.
Yea your right no more soft core stuff make me fall asleep singing. I love geoff only 29 but been jamming ever since my day got me into it!!!
I think he sounds great. Rage for order is amazing
Brazil love Geoff Tate!!
Brazil rocks Alberto!
@@LiveRockMusic Yes man
Yep. Sure. Geoff Nailed it!
Real gutsy playing these tunes from when his voice was prime and still real high, it's what makes these tunes. And the back up band...at least give us a show guys!
Always a Queensrych fan. But I wonder how much of this was put together hoping $$$ would be there for the nostalgia...
Digital pitch control software.
Everyone uses it nowadays.
Rage for Order was such a good album. I think Geoff sounded ok, considering this album was so vocally challenging.
doing a review for this album, this wasn't that great BUT I know geoff is older & Not as good as he used to be. the Band was ok but looked Bored
RJ I hope you liked it!
TATE!
its the original voice!!thats whats matters
Great to see Geoff sounding better than the recent past. I've been a fan of Queensryche since the early 80s, only saw them once on the building Empires tour when they did the full Operation Mindcrime album. Sadly the sands of time are passing by and the greats I grew up listening to in the 80s seem to be fading away.
Wow!!! Thank you very much! I m living in Québec city in Canada and we would like to see this show. I Did'nt Believe my eyes when I saw this show on RUclips. I did'nt believe my hear to !!!
You are welcome George! Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing 🤩 simply AMAZING 🤘
i listen to queensryche religiously 😂
@@contrastasmr2697 me too…I was listening to Rage for Order on cassette tape 🤩
He still brings it! He sounds great!
Somehow, I had missed your version of this show. Geoff sounds great & this band is tight. Thanks, for sharing.
That was a great show! He had a cold too that night. The more recent one I did he sounds even better
Sounds great Geoff is back where he belongs on stage these up coming stars are getting better
Amazing geoff, good for you ,30 yrs later
Steven he is a legend!
Maestro!!!!voz inmortal !!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘👏👏👏👏gran banda!!!!!
BRUTAAAAL!!!!!!
I am so glad Geoff has been getting his voice back. He went through a rough spot a few years ago.I thought he had just given up, but He sounds great again. This band isn't bad and I am sure with time they will develop intO a great band as well.
What happened to his voice?
killsing01, really.....you think the guitar player with the flat G string sounded great? It’s terrible, listen again. The solos in Silent Lucidity and Is anyone listening made my ears cringe. His bends and runs were utterly terrible, like some kid noodling at Guitar Center with a 300 dollar guitar and 50 dollar amp. Stop it already, oh the humanity.
@@robertsole9970 why don’t you post your video and show us how it’s done then rockstar?
@@robhughes8516 if you listen to that mess and think that playing a guitar out of tune sounds good, then get your hearing checked.
He never lost nothing. Still kicking ass an sounds awesome...Geoff Is Queensryche...
Thank You. Amazing Footage . I'm so pissed I missed him in Long Island last night. Thanks again 🤟
You are welcome George!
Thanks for making and sharing this video - a real pleasure to watch from first note to the last - hoping to see this show in person in Europe next year (probaby a 2000km drive - but FFS you only live once)
Great! Thanks for the upload
Just brilliant. GT pours his heart and soul into every performance.
Thank you do much for posting this! I missed the show I was supposed to go to in March because of the virus. Geoff remains on my bucket list.
Thanks for uploading... 🥰
Studio Queensrych is perfection. Live, and older than dirt- This was really good :)
Have seen them live in the 80s,90s.
Once they been touring with Metallica and believe me it was a perfect sound.
They have blown Metallica from the sage.(And Justice for All-Tour-Germany)
Drummer from Brazil 🇧🇷, great Edu Cominato!
Geoff Tate is one of the best vocalists In the world. This guy has remained on top of the game all these years. And he even drinks wine.
And the band is great.
I think people have gotten too picky with what they expect from live music. I think this sounds really good all around...
I agree Jeff, people are overly critical sometimes, plus he had a cold
It's the bands who sound good live that gain the most respect from fans. Unfortunately, a band's venue can have poor sound equipment structure amongst other issues.
We were all sick as dogs at this point, real bad flu hit the whole bus
Absolutely! Well said... \m/ (:o)
Kris
EPIC!! FANTASTIC!! GEOFF IS THE ULTIMATE LEGEND!!
STILL THE GOAT OF PROGRESSIVE METAL VOCALISTS! SAD THAT HE LEFT QUEENSRYCHE BUT GAIN STABILITY ON HIS OWN! LOVE GEOFF TATE!!!❤️👊🍻🤘💀🎶🎼🤜🤛
Geoff rules!
Last Time In Paris too, hell yeah🤘🤘, thanks for this here's to ya🍻🍺🍺🍺 😎🤙
Thank you for this.....awesome!
Drummer on a 5 piece kit KILLS IT!!! Super clean and tight AMAZING PLAYING!!
He MASSACRED it.
Thank you, great video!!!
You are welcome Guillermo!
I didn’t realize it when I saw him, but apparently Geoff Tate was the last live act that I will see until approximately 2021.
the voice is still great!!!love to see him some day!!
Thanks for the upload! Nice footage. Amazing setlist. Goeff sounds good, but struggles a bit with the highs \m/
Well he had a little cold, and he not getting younger either!
wow. time takes its toll.
Thanks for the kind words Cool man, Geoff's voice warmed right up after a few minutes, sounds good for being 60 years old!
Geoff Tate is killing it these days! Naysayers can suck it!
That was awesome
Geoff has still a great voice and the song material from "Rage for order" and "Empire" is fantastic. Queensryche was one of my favorite bands in the 90`s. When Chris DeGarmo left the band the band slowly faded away. One of the band where the Original Line-up produced the magic of their music.
You have to admit Geoff can't hit the higher notes that made him & QR the best. I do agree once Chris left, it was over. There was something so incredible when QR worked as a cohesive unit. I miss the 80's & 90's!
Hes coming to Florida on the 3rd of February can't wait to see it
Thank you for sharing. I saw the show last night in Fairfield and I thought Geoff sounded awesome. I posted a video of Empire and one of Silent Lucidity. I was very happy with the show.
Thats great!
Drummer over outstanding.
Solid!
Saw them last night at the Exit/In in Nashville, and he was sounding great vocally and it was a great show.
Stephen was that the last show before they had to stop?
@@LiveRockMusic Not sure, but pretty close I think.
I agree vocally he was much better in Nashville. I read that we was sick during this stretch of performances.
@@wordragon Ah man, sorry to hear that for the folks who attended the other concerts. It was great hearing him in such great vocal shape!
Thank you very much ! You rock !
My pleasure!
GEOFF WILL ALWAT BE THE BEST SINGER QUEENSRYCHE EVER HAD ! ...IN 1982-1986 HE WAS second greatest vocalist ////THE GREATEST VOCALIST ever im metal .....TO ONLY ONE MAN ROB HALFORD.... THEY WERE THE BEST EVER...bruce is good .. amd hes got the greatest band ever....geoff tate ...everybody through age and other thing s lose the elite voice when they were in in there 30s. every album queensryche did was gold amd double platnum ....all of them a must have!
thank you so much :)
Man, kidney stones. We’re getting old
Geoff Tate N1, Respect from Russia (Siberia,Altai mountains)
Wow nice to see him back👏👏👏👏👏🥁🥁🥁🥁🇨🇦🇨🇦
I was at the show i had a great time i meet his daughter she got on stage she rocked i was invited to go to Ireland 🇮🇪 and hang out at the pub my last show before covid19 and now the show on RUclips. 🤟❤💯❤🤟
Very good show...Very good musicians, timbres are fucking awesome
Argentina loves Geoff Tate!
Christian so does America! Best voice in rock
Pretty sure he had a cold, he wasn't shaking hands at the end maybe he didn't want to spread it?
He's performing here for about 2 hours, where as with avantasia its usually 2-3 songs if im not mistaken so pacing i would say
Hizo 2horas de recital , impresionante, se cantó todo
Thank you! Just saved $40 :)
Spend it and go see it!
Cant, it's sold out :(
Going to see the show live tonight hopefully it’s better sorry your show was sold out brother but I agree with everyone he wasn’t sounding so hot definitely but I am a dedicated fan everybody has the right to have a cold or be sick and still perform regardless the job So a night out with some good friends the wife or whatever the case may be is always good either way may turn out to be a good show
Awesome show love every old album🤩🤩🤩
Wow the whisper sounds incredible
