On November 13, 2015, nine jihadist terrorist of ISIS group attacked Paris and killed 130 victims in three coordinated attacks. 3 of these terrorists attacked the Stade de France during a soccer game {all three terrorists died, plus one victim), 3 other men attacked the Bataclan concert hall {all three terrorists were killed, plus 90 victims) and finally another group of 3 men shot at random on various cafés and pubs (one of them made a suicide-attack and died). Only two terrorists (of the attack on cafés) survived. Their names were Chakib Akrouh and Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the latter being the chief of the whole operation. They hid in Paris’ outskirts and found a shelter in the city of Saint-Denis thanks to Hasna Ait Boulahcen, a female accomplice who was also Abaaoud’s cousin. The trio decided to prepare another attack on November 18, most likely against a child care in La Défense district. Thanks to a courageous young woman who was living with Hasna Ait Boulahcen and, despite huge risks, who gave information to the Police, the French internal intelligence service (DGSI) managed to find the shelter of the terrorists the night before the attack. The police assault was led by the French Police’s antiterrorist force RAID and by the Paris Prefecture of Police’s commando unit, the BRI. The operation was extremely violent because of the armored door of the apartment which did not open despite the explosive device used by the Police, and the intense firefight which ensued. A police dog, named Diesel, was killed during the operation. Hasna Ait Boulahcen screamed and cried to lure the policemen but it was a trap. The RAID did not take the bait completely. When Chakib Akrouh made his suicide vest explode, he killed Abaaoud and Boulahcen but failed to kill any policeman. The operation did not go as planned and costed the life of a brave police dog. It was still successful as it eliminated the threat of these three jihadists, including two ISIS veterans who had been given military training in Syria/Iraq. Several people who had connections with the terrorists were arrested in the weeks and months that followed. This scene is an extract from the French movie “Novembre”, released in October 2022. It was realized by Cédric Jimenez and produced by Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, France 2 Cinéma and Studiocanal. I do not monetarize the video, I do not own the footage or take any credit. I share this extract of the movie only as a tribute for the men of RAID and BRI who accomplished their duty on the line of fire. I recommend this movie to each and everyone one of you, this violent scene is an exception as most of the movie follows the work of DGSI policemen in the stressful days that followed November 13.
