    Seems to me he’s comfortable here and he’s back to his old self. I wonder if he credits any of the coaching staff and organization and if he would really be open to an extension.

    Trading this guy under any circumstances would be one of the dumbest moves the Cubs could make. I don't care how the rest of the season goes, Bellinger can be you centerfielder for the next 3 to 4 years. It would be assinine to trade him regardless if you fall out of the race or not.

      @@westhoodqualzini7884 you're about as dumb as a rock if you think Cody bellinger and Hayward are even on the same level! 1 was an MVP who got hurt and organization gave up on him! We signed him for 7 years 184 million. Cody is 27 on a resurgence year and letting him go would be about as smart as your comment.

    The cubs mays as well extend his contract, because they didn’t get any good prospects for the World Series core of guys javier baez, Chris Bryant, and Anthony Rizzo. So lets stop tearing the team down to get nothing in return.

    • @rickrose5377
      @rickrose5377 Год назад

      I desperately want to extend him, but it's not true that the Cubs got nothing in those trades. Just for instance, Pete Crow-Armstrong came from the Mets in the Baez trade. And their other two top outfield prospects, Kevin Alcantara and Alexander Canario, came in the Rizzo and Bryant trades (in addition to some of their top pitching prospects). It's always a timeline and money calculation.
      Cody's only 28, and besides playing center field, none of your other options has proven themselves to be the answer ar first base. Hosmer, Mancini, Mervis, Jared Young, even Patrick Wisdom...Cody is a terrific defender at first base, even if PCA becomes ready to take over center field.

      Bro the Cubs got great prospects for Baez and Rizzo and for Bryant Canario and Kilian both still have chances

    Cubs are still lacking depth in the system in 1B, 3B, and C. They will need to trade Stroman and Bellinger to get those depth in there. Also, Bellinger is not going to extend and will test free agency to up his $$$ value as much as possible and that includes Stroman. Its better to get something for them in trade. Once in free agency, I hope Cubs can resign Belli and bring him back. Even Stroman as well. But we'll see what happens.

      @Andrew_-nr7zt Год назад

      100% agree with this and I think the yanks will overpay for Belli but hopefully the cubs can extend/resign him and Stro before the trade deadline or offseason

    • @aidonis98
      @aidonis98 Год назад +1

      @@Andrew_-nr7zt Stro is 100% gone. A team that thinks they are a starter away will overpay for him. And he adores Chicago. So if the Cubs come to him with a not insulting offer in the offseason, there's a great chance he comes back. Hard to say with Belli though. Is this the new norm, or an aberration? He's likely gone, and probably not coming back, as sad as that is to say.

      @Andrew_-nr7zt Год назад

      @@aidonis98 You can kinda tell that he wants to stay in the interview but hopefully we can resign him on 3 year deal during the offseason and same with stro if he chooses to come back during the offseason

      Miguel Amaya, Bellinger can play first or we can give Mervis another chance bro. As for third we can give him an off-season to work on fielding. You’re overthinking it and not looking into how good these guys are and where they can play. If we truly want to win we need to keep Bellinger and Stroman.

      @@ConnorBedardLol yeah but realistically speaking Jed is mostly going to trade them at the deadline which is unfortunate but hopefully that doesn’t happen but if it does I imagine Jed and Carter will will try to resign them during the off-season
