I just downloaded the app, wonderfull how this works.
It is very easy to handle our stockholding with it, little VBA code on the excel sheet and it keeps the stock up to date.
Also added a warning in the Excelsheet when an item is low on stock, it gives a popup to order.
I might buy some licenses.

Hello. The Scan-IT to Office App provides a built-in form editor. You can create a form with three fields, one for the barcode, one for text, and one for the numeric price. For inventory counting: Will this app also allow transfer of item quantities? Where inventory may contain bulk quantity of an item, one would scan the item barcode and type in the quantity of the item.
Yes, this is supported. You can create arbitrary forms with any combination of input fields (e.g. bar code, quantity, image). You find the form editor in the menu. If you need help contact us via mail to support@tec-it.com.

It’s a very great application but I have to ask. Can I insert the bar code if the excel is in my ipad, and i would not send it to my home computer instead I want to see in the ipad.
Just an example. If I working outside installing a unit. Making for it a barcode, stick up the unit, entering the unit with that barcode to my database. Next year when I have to check that unit and make a report I just simply preparing the report in excel, scan the code, the excel fill in the data. Signing in with apple pencil send it in email and done.
I just have to bring my loved ipad and an apple pencil No paper no mess and I saving the planet. Cheers

Hello! Unfortunately the current version of Scan-IT to Office does not support external Bluetooth scanners or the Zebra scanners engine directly. If you are using a Zebra device you may use the DataWedge tool (see www.tec-it.com/en/support/faq/mobile-daq/scan-it-to-office/Default.aspx#109809 ). How does it work? Does it push characters into the keyboard buffer right? So basically it "types". If so, then it can be used with almost any programs
It does not use the keyboard buffer, instead it uses the Add-In functionality provided by the various target apps. The current version works only with the supported applications.
How do I mark the sections 'REQUIRED' in forms so that it doesn't go unnoticed.
Many thanks for your question. The predefined forms are available as-is and can't be modified. But you may create a custom form (Menu -> Forms -> Create New Form). Each field in a custom form offers the option "Required field". If this option is checked, the field in question must be completed before submitting the form. I have the intention to buy an enterprise license. Can I check, does the Scan-IT Log has to be turned on every time? And not just a one-time setting? Because when I tried the demo, it shows me disconnect from my Google sheet. I have to go back and click the add-on again and again. The second question is, the app can show connections to google sheets (allowing the user to delete), and the Forms (allowing the user to delete). In enterprise volume licenses, can I disable it? I just need storekeepers to scan the QR code and send to my Google Sheet. Please advise. Thanks!

I have the following concern with the free demo version of the application and it means that I don't understand very well the concept that in this version demo data is sent at random intervals but when sending information in this version to an Excel file, The order is sent according to the order I have in the form I created.
Does it mean that after a while this application disorganizes me the data sent or what I will send?

In the demo version the collected data is replaced by a text which indicates that you are using the demo version. The order of the data will be maintained, the data is not disorganized. Hope this helps!

When I scan a barcode can I add information/comments into the barcode scanned? Example...Scan barcode and then comment from the phone app that there is damage or defects to the product scanned?

Is there a way to update inventory that you already have the barcode in excel?
When I have my inventory list up, it will just add the barcode in with a quantity in a new line.

Here's my question. How can I pair this up with a bar code printer or QR printer to put labels on boxes and then scan them for inventory purposes? Is that possible? I want to use this software and buy it, but I need to know how it can work to actually create labels for my boxes. Thanks for your help.
Hello! Scan-IT to Office is not able to print labels (at least in the current version). We suggest to use other TEC_IT poducts for label printing (e.g. Barcode Studio -* www.tec-it.com/en/software/barcode-software, TFORMer Designer - www.tec-it.com/en/software/label-printing or the online label printing system label.tec-it.com). You need to print the labels beforehand, apply them and then scan them using Scan-IT to Office.
please info , i used iphone and android. when i used iphone the process is succed from scan to received data in google sheet. but when i try with android, theres notif "total received: 6" but there is no data in field google sheets. not like when use iphone. What should i do? please info thank you.

If spreadsheet not open/not online, this app can't record real-time??
Hello, Scan-IT to Office requires the App and the target(s) to be online for real-time send/receive communication. In case you're writing data via the Google Sheets (Drive) connection, you don't need to keep the sheet open. Records will be inserted directly into the sheet whenever the App is online. You can do it in Office Add-ins:
1. Click on the desired field.
2. Go to the options tab.
3. Select "Insert at current selection > Select next row automatically" for codes to go into the chosen column (e.g., C column).
4. For horizontal row placement, choose "Insert at current selection > Select next cell automatically (horizontal)" to fill the next cell horizontally.

I tried it. The free version inserts dummy data into your sheet randomly.
Purchased a monthly subscription to "try it out" and it doesn't load directly into Excel. I've changed all of the formatting in case it wasn't reading it correctly but it still didn't correct the issue. How do I get a refund?

Just downloaded this however can’t get excel to go down the to the cell without pressing enter. I have multi items I need to scan in without being in the office to press enter. Does anyone know how to solve this ??? Thanks

How do pairing work? I have installed it to office(excel) and to my phone. But I do not get any barcodes, QR codes or anything on the app to use for pairing to the phone

Excell: open the installed Scan-IT to Office add-in and click on "Add phone" if no QR code is displayed.
Mobile device: open the main menu ( ⋮ ), go to Connections and click on "Add connection" to scan the displayed pairing code.

@@TECITSoftware Thanks, works now (just also had to restart PC for it to come up) But is it possible to add to all barcodes that all scans will go to one specific cell? Like Barcode 1 will all scans of that barcode go to B2? And then always replace the last one in B2?

Why the cell after scan, not move down automaticly?

When you scan the item from your phone can you create a column that also lists who scanned it?
Sure. Create a custom form (see menu) with a barcode field and either a static text field (with the username) or a listbox (with all required usernames). Then use this form for scanning.
As an alternative you may insert the device name of the phone into the worksheet. This can be adjusted in the options of the add-in.

Is that only for short distance? If i want to use it on a side that is very long away from my pc, is it ok? It only work with short distance detection with bluetooth or can be detected via network?

Is there a way to also do these reverse with this app? Say I scan a serial number barcode into my database and add information relating to that barcode. Can I scan the barcode again later to get that specific information to show back up on my mobile device? Could I delete or edit information in the database relating to a specific barcode using that mobile device?

For continuous scanning you can activate the batch scan mode: Settings - Scanner configuration - Batch scanning.
After scanning the first code the App will return to the scan view automatically. You can also set the 'Pause between scans'.

Does this app simply just insert the scanned (decoded) barcode into the office document or does it also give you the metadata about the scanned barcode (i.e. symbology type, etc.)?
Hello! Currently only the data is inserted into the target document/database. But we will keep your request in mind, maybe we find a user-friendly way to add this feature in one of the next releases. @@TECITSoftware By data do you just mean the barcode read, or all of the meta data. What if I wanted to know the symbology type? Can I get that information from the "data" read?
@@RoyHBerger i referred to just the barcode data without meta-data. The app itself knows about symbology type and number of characters/bytes encoded (is also displayed after reading the code in the app) but does not deliver this info to the target.

Hello, we recommend to use Scan-IT to Office with an active internet connection. If offline, Scan-IT to Office buffers entered data on the device. Есть приложение на телефоне и на ПК. Пользуюсь Google Sheets. Когда на ПК курсор стоит на ячейке А1, а на телефоне на В1, то, ячейка А1 - всегда главная. Как сделать так, что бы, когда вносишь данные спомощью сканера не зависило, в каком положении истоит курсор на ПК. спасибо
Здравствуйте! Данные от приложения принимает и вносит в таблицу дополнение Scan-IT to Office, которое установлено на компьютер. Оно учитывает актуальный выбор ячейки только на данном компьютере. К сожалению, дополнение не поддерживается мобильной версией Google Таблиц, поэтому вносить данные в таблицу, открытую на телефоне, нет возможности.
Если Вы пользуетесь телефоном на Android, возможно, для Вашей цели подойдет приложение Barcode Scanner Keyboard (клавиатура для мобильного телефона, которая сканирует штрихкоды, считывает текст и вносит их туда, где стоит курсор на мобильном телефоне): play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tecit.android.barcodekbd.demo&hl=ru

Hello! The app is available as free demo in Google Play or AppStore. The additional Add-Ins/Tools are available for free in the respective app stores or on tec-it.com (see www.tec-it.com/en/download/mobile-data-acquisition/scan-it-to-office/Download.aspx). The free demo replaces collected data in random intervals with a demo text or displays a hint.
If you find the solution useful, you may purchase a monthly/quarterly/yearly auto-renewing subscription - such a subscription can be cancelled anytime by yourself.

Hello! Yes, it is possible to capture the exact time of the scan. This feature can be enabled in the Microsoft Office add-in. Scan-IT to Office needs at least Microsoft Office 2013 installed because Microsoft AppSource (Office Store) is not available for older Office versions. How much limit to scan?
Hi! The demo version (without subscription) does not limit the number of scans but it replaces the scanned data with a demo text in irregular intervals (or displays a notification).

Can I add timestamp in my excel sheet? How many scans it could scan in a second
Hello, yes the Scan-IT to Office Add-In (MS Office) is able to add timestamps (Acquisition Timestamp / Receive Timestamp). You can enable this function in the add-in options under Data Selection. The number of scans in a second depends on the device. We have tested this feature (batch scannning mode) with different devices (Android and iOS), the result was an average of up to 2 scans per second. How do you add in to the Google Spreadsheet?
Hello, to add Scan-IT to Office to your Google Spreadsheet, please follow these steps:
1. Install the "Scan-IT to Office Add-On" from the Chrome Webstore: chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/scan-it-to-office/oeggkbdldochacapfbnbmhghcfinaehh.
2. Choose "Add-Ons" in the Google Sheets menu and wait a few seconds until it is shown in the list.
3. Click on "Scan-IT to Office" to activate the Add-on.
4. Pair the Scan-IT to Office app with the add-on by scanning the displayed QR code. That's all!

To name a few: Supports 2D barcodes, works with Windows and macOS, wireless, location independent, no extra device needed, customizable input forms (e.g. barcode with image plus quantity)

This is NOT barcode as you claim. This is QR code. You misled me.
We used a QR code as an example only. Scan-IT to Office scans linear bar-codes and other 2D codes as well.

@@user-dr7xo5es9i In custom forms you can select the resolution of image fields. Chosse between Small, Medium, Large and X-Large (ranging from 250 up to 1000 pixels). To create a custom form go to Settings - Forms - Create a Form and combine input fields as required. The resolution can be changed in the properties of the image field.
