Coming from a knife maker, I sure wish people from China were buying my pieces and engraving Chinese flags on them 😀but I get it, I get it lol. Thanks for making a great video and showing the stainless steel marking ability! Was really interested in that and your video was well done 👍
i do not think i would want to engrave a custom knife. it would lose its authenticity. mass produced cheap knives are great for testing though! post some of your work in the laser makers realm facebook group. would love to see it!
Thank you very much Patrick. I also have the LaserMatic 30W but, until now have only used wood. After watching your video on RUclips I have tried S/Steel (the sample that came with the laser) and by following your instructions had great success. Going forward do you know what settings and frequency would be required for Silver?
Thanks, Patrick. I am trying to get hold of some silver to test and will let you know the results. The stainless steel was my first attempt at charging the frequency. What's your best guess for silver for a starting point.
Nice video sir, easy to listen and follow on your guide how to... I did my blade after seeing this vid and I like the way it turned out. I've been trying to learn more about masking and just watching you preform the steps on that brought home for me. Thanks
What does changing the frequency do? I have a Longer B1 30w. I practiced yesterday on a SS blade. The manufacturer recommends 1500mm/m at 80%. Did a fill and a line and both looked great.
23:19 Thank you, this was great help. One question - I have a NEJE Max 4 with the 20W E80 diode laser. What would be the settings for stainless engraving. Thank you in advance. Joe Bledsoe
I may have found my answer via Clack Shack. I was trying the dog tags that came with the Lasermatic and maybe have to take the coating off the dog tags?
Nice job! FYI...in the Fiber Laser World when working with Stainless Steel, sparks = rust.
sometimes it does.
Just engraved 1095 steel with a 10W. Did not have the $28 so i just set it accordingly and went for it. It worked Thank you for the video.
awesome! That makes me smile!!

Thank you sir!

I have not tried silver. I am sorry I do not. I would love to hear results if you try it!!

it helps with engraving steel. can actually remove metal.
I cant get it even made any dot on the steel. I don't know why. its 10W I don't know if I'm missing any setting. I did $28=1000 too
is your firmware capable of changing frequency? wha tlaser?

are you able to change the frequency in the firmware on that machine?
I can not find anything about the frequency, so I'm assuming you can't change it.
thanks patrick for another educational video
My pleasure!
Now I got to go test with my AlgoLaser Delta
Do it!
I have an LM1 10/20 watt so will have to try. The LM1 can be changed to $28=1000
yes sir! give it a go!!
I don't have a lasermatic. Do you think it will work with my 10W xtool?
Give it a try and let me know, please.
Patrick, I take it this is for steel and not stainless steel? I tried stainless with no luck. Thanks!

that knife was a china stainless steel one
did you change your frequency on the lasermatic?
@@LSEngraving yes I did and it didn't mark it at all. I was trying the tags that came with the lasermatic.
Also, I noticed the protective cover for the laser had three edge marks in it and wonder if changing the frequency did this.
Does the satin finish of the material produce better results than a polished more mirrorish material?
I haven't noticed a difference yet
Hi! Please notice me. Can we engrave white on stainless steel using diode laser?
we can get pretty close. i will have a video soon.
When you doing the template outline, do you have use the camera to do it?
Nope, a cell phone pic works just fine.
AWESOME!!!!!
Thanks!! Much appreciated
Thanks Patrick. Excellent video. How does the frequency affect the power?
it should not affect the power.
So if it's not black stainless this won't work correct?
It is silver stainless
Thank you Patrick, truly appreciate it!
you are welcome!!
Patrick, Where did you purchase the knife from? Thanks
Ohio knife and tool
Great
thank you!
I'm running a SS wallet now, that you sent me Patrick.
awesome. Can't wait to see it!
