Greatest Guitarist ever to walk this earth. Gary could play any style he wanted to from Blues, Jazz-Fusion, Rock and even Neo-classical.
He played with so much feeling and passion it touches your soul.
    R.I.P Gary.

THE BEST BLUES GUITAR SOLO EVER

  • @ronforeman2556
    @ronforeman2556 Год назад +15

Gary Moore recorded "The Messiah Will Come Again" and included it in his live set from 1990 on as a tribute to one of his own guitar heroes, Roy Buchanan, who so identified with this number that he recorded it twice: First on his eponymous solo album (1972) and later, with introductory lyrics, on "A Street Called Straight" (1976).
Just a smile, just a glance
    The Prince of Darkness
    He just walked past
There's been a lot of people
And they've had a lot to say
But this time, I'm gonna tell it my way
    There was a town,
There was a strange little town, they called "The World"
It was a lonely, lonely little town
'Til one day a stranger appeared
    And their hearts rejoiced
And the sad little town was happy again
But there was some that doubted
They disbelieved so they mocked him
And that stranger, he went away
Now the sad little town that was sad yesterday
    It's a lot sadder today
I walked in a lot of places I never should have been
But I know that the Messiah, he will come again
Buchanan and Moore were both tortured musical geniuses who battled the bottle most of their adult lives. In both cases, the bottle won. Arrested for public intoxication after a domestic dispute, Buchanan was found hanged from his own shirt in a Fairfax County, Virginia, jail cell on 8/14/88. He was 48. Moore essentially drank himself to death while vacationing in Spain. On 2/6/11, an emergency medical team found him unresponsive in his hotel room with a fatal blood alcohol level of 380 mg/dL. He was 58.

I have been a musician for 60 years (bass) and I've seen many of the greats live - Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Jeff Beck and many more. IMHO Gary Moore is the greatest guitar player that ever lived and this performance is the greatest guitar performance ever recorded. Every note, even his lightening fast runs is chosen and performed to perfection, flawlessly and with impeccable taste

That Guitar has a history. It was owned by Peter Greene, founder of Fleetwood Mac, who dealt it to Gary, it's now owned by Kirk Hammett of Metallica for a cool 1.7 Million.
    It's called Greenie.

You got to react to the originator of this song which is, Roy Buchanan. He was the best telecaster player known to man. The best unknown guitarist known to man. Things he did with that guitar, with no pedals was Jimi Hendrix level in some ways. Check them out, please.

Almost everyone we listen to have started in another band and so also Gary Moore. Around 1970 he was part of Skid Row.....Gary Moore's Skid Row, (there is another band later with the same name) and their second LP 48 Hours (it took 48 hours to record it) is outstanding.
