- When sideloading apps to an Android TV device, you may find that the apps are missing or can't be added or to the home screen or you just can't find them. There is a reason for this and there is also a way to fix this and add apps to the home screen. So if you've found your apps are missing on Android TV, this video is the one to get it sorted!

Hi, since the most recent fire tv stick 4k UI update, my netflix app refuses to open, even after fully deleting it, cold booting and reinstalling. Any idea how to fix it or a working alternative? I got this issue on 2 of these sticks, I own 2 of them.
I also have issues with my tv provider "Ziggo go TV" giving errors on startup which eventually I'm able to close and continue to the app, then it works fine.

Helpful video, I think I prefer Mix-Apps as everything goes into that rather than just sideloaded apps

Hi Free Tech..........You can also sideload an app called TV App Repo to add icons for those apps that will not appear on the home screen of devices with Android TV OS

Did you know there is a similar app on the fire stick called a app list manager ,which makes seeing the blank icon square possible, the only problem is you can not one click to open the app but two clicks has to be better at least you can see all your installed apps

after the latest update of android 9 pie my mibox 3 has some serious issues. new apk cant be installed 2 USB not getting detected 3 play store apps not getting an update, can you plz extend some help.

Disable g play store app but theres a catch. Whenever you want to update any apps that get updated by the gp store, then you have to go enable it again.
No,not necessary. Download Aurora Store. It will give you access to the Google Store to purchase and update apps without enabling the Google Playstore on your Android device. Tech Doctor UK has an “ how to” video.
Thanks Free Tech after I installed sideload launcher I wanted to open an app designed for mobile so before that I opened the app set orientation and set it to be Landscape (sensor) then I was able to open that app in landscape mode worked alright on the shied pro.
Yeah, set orientation is a god send for using mobile apps on Android TV devices.
how did you install google chrome bro? seems like i cant find it on playstore!!! i have km6 meecool. i guess they are pretty similar. the pre installed google playstore is very different than original play store. any solution?

What if you tap Build 10 times then go to Developer settings to change things around? Some of those secret settings have to be tapped quickly up to a dozen times to unlock them.

I have a strange things happening on my Shield Pro. Cyberflix " not found" and I have looked everywhere (system, all apps, etc) . What is stranger is my storage permissions are still active, so I know it is still somewhere on my system. Anyway I re--downloaded it and it accepted it but I closed it out and I went back to it and it "not found" again. What do you think is happening?
Try using es file explorer as that will also show apps that don't show using normal method
Google play protect is removing the apps u have to disable it or turn off app scan in security settings

I have installed All4 and Sideload Launcher, however when I open All4, it shows in Portrait mode in the Center third of the screen, with either side 1/3 being blank, as if it is still on my phone, tall and skinny? Help
Yeah, it’s because the app is designed for mobile or tablet and isn’t an android tv version. To fix the screen you can use set orientation - ruclips.net/video/a6ORiAYZLDE/видео.html

Thanks for the video. i do have another issue. by click the "MY APP" button on my remote control the quick view of apps appears to access the application quicker. nice feature but i am not able to add my downloaded apps there. internet searches told me i need to press the option button on the remote and then say "add to home screen", but nothing happens when pressing. does anybody else has this issue and maybe a solution for that? thanks

If you accidentally installed the android tv home update just go to your apps in the settings go to the android tv home app then select uninstall updates and it will revert to the factory version of the launcher
Your video definitely helped me! I decided to go cheap and buy a chinese android TV box and it didn't come with google apps. After sideloading the play store and proper TV Launcher I found that some apps weren't showing due to the preinstalled apps being designed for tablets. After installing this, I can open them no problem. Cheers mate!

Still doesnt fix the apps being geoblocked by google ,in my case its a nvidia Shield the only way to get the ones that disappeared is by reset the shield and reinstall the apps then disable google play also google keeps u woundering buying another shield

I've got Nvidia Shield and when I install apks I get the warning message from play protect. I install the apk and it loads it fine, but when I switch off then back on at a later time, the apk is missing. The only way I have found that works on the Shield is to disable play protect. Any ideas on this?
There is no way other than disabling the Play Store. I asked Nvidia for advice but they responded with a lecture on the dangers of 3rd party apps and under the terms of service it was not permitted to download such apps. Nonsense of course and I downloaded and read the terms to confirm this. Being right however is no solution. Download Aurora Store to get access to the Google Store without enabling it on your device.
Channels on erm ergh some channels have NO SOUND but do have vision!?! It's been 3 or 4 weeks now!?!!

I downloaded apps that were meant for mobile devices and when I installed an app called set orientation and set in to landscape the apps displayed correctly might be worth a try.
