DESCRIPTION:
This video is a ROBLOX recreation of San Francisco's Bay Area Rapid Transit's Timed Transfer feature, most commonly used for connections between one side of the East Bay or the other, or to San Francisco. Passengers need this in order to connect to trains that go to their destination if that train doesn't serve their station.
This is one of the very first and most common Timed Transfers in the BART system, Oakland's Northbound Transfer between Orange Line Richmond bound and Yellow Line Pittsburg/Bay Point and/or Antioch Bound trains.
Typically, passengers coming from San Francisco can use a Red Line Richmond bound train and passengers at West Oakland Station, however, Orange Line Richmond trains are also used whenever the Red Line isn't in service, passengers at the stations shown in this video have both options as trains coming from West Oakland or Lake Merritt would both enter Oakland City Center/12th Street Station to continue their journey to Richmond.
Normally, all Richmond bound passengers would board a Yellow Line train and travel to 19th Street/Oakland Station (before, passengers would transfer at 12th Street instead but that was changed years later & Pittsburg trains would be the transfer trains, but now it's Antioch trains) then Transfer to the Orange Line Richmond train to continue towards Berkeley and Richmond, while Antioch/Pittsburg passengers would change to the Yellow Line train to continue towards the Contra Costa County & East Contra Costa County for Pittsburg & Antioch.
This video will feature a Legacy Fleet (2-Door) Orange Line Richmond bound train & a Fleet of the Future (3-Door) Yellow Line Pittsburg/Bay Point bound train from Oakland City Center/12th Street Station to 19th Street/Oakland for the transfer point, then continue on to serve MacArthur, before splitting off to journey on towards Rockridge (on Yellow Line) and Ashby (on Orange/Red Line).
