I’ve used my spent coffee grounds for years as an exfoliator. I always have a bowl full by my kitchen sink for when my hands need a good scrub especially after chopping garlic and onions. It’s a great full body exfoliator too.
I saw this video today but I had accidentally stumbled upon this idea when I had so much coffee grounds I felt it's waste to throw them away, I knew sugar is great exfoliating scrub so I just put some coconut oil and sugar with those grounds in a jar and stored it, now it's been 8 months and I feel my skin is showing improvement, like it's definitely effective on my stretch marks and cellulite on legs....thanks for telling it's a great idea, Don't doubt it man,it leaves your skin super soft and fresh....and another tip, if you have plants, you can actually throw in these grounds with fertiliser or without fertiliser in your plants, that way your plants get all essential nutrients....
I made this scrub and have already used it twice. It just gets better and better. After the first time I knew it had to become part of my weekly routine. I even googled to see how often I could use it!!! I have “chicken skin” on the back of my thighs and I honestly feel like it’s already making a difference.
omg, thats awesome! I have chicken skin too and scrubs are life! thats why i love making them. Saves so much money when you use them as regularly as i do.

I tried this recipe and LOVED it 😍 I could tell a difference in brightness and softness of my skin. I think this was a great amount of oil because it absorbed nicely overnight, into my skin ✨️

Only part I dont like is the mess haha Next time doing to do it in the shower. So worth it! Plus youre using grounds which would normally just get tossed anyways.
Totally love this scrub, but for the body. I'm a licensed esthetician and this is too rough to use on the face. The grounds are not perfect spheres and they don't dissolve. It can cause micro lesions (little cuts that don't bleed) on delicate skin like your face and decolletage. But the for the body is perfect! No shade, just a little tid bit so you don't age your skin 😊👍😘

OK. double check its not the one with salicylic acid. that can cause irritation especially on top of freshly scrubbed skin. if not, it may just be too abrasive for you so perhaps try sugar instead of coffee or baking soda.

I kept it in the contsiner shown in the video with the rest of my skincare (bedroom). I dump out what I need into my hands or use a scoop so molding wont be an issue since you’re not introducing any water into it.
This is pretty course so I would recommend it for the body only (physical exfoliants can cause microscopic tears on the face) You can use filtered coffee as long as you completely dry them out before hand. incorporating water into beauty mixtures actually shortens the shelf life drastically, so you don’t want to do so without a preservative to discourage bacteria growth.
Thank you for the quick response! But i would also like to ask if i can apply the filtered coffee directly on my body during bathe without mixing anything else??
if it remains dry (in a dark cool place for storage) it will maintain the shelf life of the ingredients used ultimately to their expiry dates. if water gets inside the container, no, as its preservative free.
It’ll stay good for quite a few months as long as you don’t introduce water into the container. so I just pour it into my hand or use a spoon vs dipping my wet hands in the jar. Since there’s no preservative, any trapped moisture will eventually grow bacteria.

only if you fully dehydrate them again. If not dried first, left in a container the water from brewing the grounds would mold and grow bacteria.

Hi, i'm going to try using this on my face, but would it have the same effect if i use filtered coffee grounds?? Thanks!!

yes
What part of the body would you typically used this on? I wish that information was shared.
i exfoliate my entire body. you can feel free to use it wherever youd like (excluding the face)
Is this shelf stable ? Or do I have to put it into the fridge
if it remains dry (in a dark cool place for storage) it will maintain the shelf life of the ingredients used ultimately to their expiry dates. if water gets inside the container, no, as its preservative free.

u can omit it

Is this fine to go down my shower drain? How necessary is the powder? Or cornstarch?
Yes, it’s fine. the cornstarch or arrowroot powder are optional.
So, USED coffee grounds? Or fresh?
The recipe calls for fresh but I'm seeing alot of comments saying they use used grounds?
fresh. if you use “used” coffee you have to thoroughly dry them first or your scrub will grow mold/bacteria.
or you can just make a single serving batch to be used immediately (same day of preparation) with the used grounds.
