    I’ve used my spent coffee grounds for years as an exfoliator. I always have a bowl full by my kitchen sink for when my hands need a good scrub especially after chopping garlic and onions. It’s a great full body exfoliator too.

    I saw this video today but I had accidentally stumbled upon this idea when I had so much coffee grounds I felt it's waste to throw them away, I knew sugar is great exfoliating scrub so I just put some coconut oil and sugar with those grounds in a jar and stored it, now it's been 8 months and I feel my skin is showing improvement, like it's definitely effective on my stretch marks and cellulite on legs....thanks for telling it's a great idea, Don't doubt it man,it leaves your skin super soft and fresh....and another tip, if you have plants, you can actually throw in these grounds with fertiliser or without fertiliser in your plants, that way your plants get all essential nutrients....

    My daughter made a similar one for use adding honey & used coconut oil instead of almond oil- our faces & declottetes felt SO soft! The skin was like new. Only part I dont like is the mess haha Next time doing to do it in the shower. So worth it! Plus youre using grounds which would normally just get tossed anyways.

    • @Ourwildbunch
      @Ourwildbunch 5 лет назад +4

      Totally love this scrub, but for the body. I'm a licensed esthetician and this is too rough to use on the face. The grounds are not perfect spheres and they don't dissolve. It can cause micro lesions (little cuts that don't bleed) on delicate skin like your face and decolletage. But the for the body is perfect! No shade, just a little tid bit so you don't age your skin 😊👍😘

    • @Ourwildbunch
      @Ourwildbunch 5 лет назад

      @@diealistair7093 I personally just wash my face with a washcloth, do small circles with what cleanser you have. Depends on your skin type but if you get a cleanser with glycolic acid (for more dry to normal skin) or one with salicylic acid (for more oily/ acne prone) it will help with the exfoliation. Peter Thomas Roth has both. It's like 30 or 40 bucks but comes in a really big bottle. Will last you forever and ALWAYS wear sunscreen! 😉

    So yalll know how the tree hut coffee scrub is bomb right I had a rose one and I finished it last week and I was going to go buy more but then I came across this video and another one and I decided to try to make my own recipe and I put it in my empty container I think this is my “dupe” to the tree hut coffee scrub
    Here’s mines:
    Coffee Grinds
    Oats
    Salt or Sugar (I put both)
    Vitamin E Oil
    Coconut Oil
    Honey
    Warm Water (Optional)
    Dove Cocoa Butter Body Wash( You don’t have to put this I just put this because I’m scared to put essential oils because it will irritate my skin so I put this (only a little)to make it smell good)
    Most of my Ingredients are oats, coffee grinds, salt, sugar, honey, vitamin e oil
    This is a hydrating (very exfoliating) scrub that lightens and brightens your stretch marks, make you smell good, and tighten your skin! I actually make them and I sell them to my friends! (Obviously using different containers and using gloves etc all of them said they loved it!)
    Also put it in the fridge

    I've tried to DIY a scrub but always screw it up because 1. I did not know about the corn starch and 2. I poured my oil in all at once. Tfs, I wish you were my friend. Blessings to you

    I want to try this but I’m wondering, how to store it? Do you keep it in the fridge to keep it from getting moldy? Airtight container?

    • @abetweene
      @abetweene  6 лет назад +1

      I kept it in the contsiner shown in the video with the rest of my skincare (bedroom). I dump out what I need into my hands or use a scoop so molding wont be an issue since you’re not introducing any water into it.

    Hi, i'm going to try using this on my face, but would it have the same effect if i use filtered coffee grounds?? Thanks!!

    • @abetweene
      @abetweene  6 лет назад +1

      This is pretty course so I would recommend it for the body only (physical exfoliants can cause microscopic tears on the face) You can use filtered coffee as long as you completely dry them out before hand. incorporating water into beauty mixtures actually shortens the shelf life drastically, so you don’t want to do so without a preservative to discourage bacteria growth.

    • @muchelleab
      @muchelleab 6 лет назад

      Thank you for the quick response! But i would also like to ask if i can apply the filtered coffee directly on my body during bathe without mixing anything else??

    Is this shelf stable ? Or do I have to put it into the fridge

    • @abetweene
      @abetweene  22 дня назад

      if it remains dry (in a dark cool place for storage) it will maintain the shelf life of the ingredients used ultimately to their expiry dates. if water gets inside the container, no, as its preservative free.

    Love this video! Just wondering, does anyone know how long this stays good for or if it even expires at all?

    • @abetweene
      @abetweene  5 лет назад +2

      It’ll stay good for quite a few months as long as you don’t introduce water into the container. so I just pour it into my hand or use a spoon vs dipping my wet hands in the jar. Since there’s no preservative, any trapped moisture will eventually grow bacteria.

    So, USED coffee grounds? Or fresh?
    The recipe calls for fresh but I'm seeing alot of comments saying they use used grounds?

    • @abetweene
      @abetweene  4 года назад +2

      fresh. if you use “used” coffee you have to thoroughly dry them first or your scrub will grow mold/bacteria.
      or you can just make a single serving batch to be used immediately (same day of preparation) with the used grounds.
