I think we have the 10" Vevor slicer. It works really well. We picked up hams when they were on sale during Christmas and cut into pieces to slice when we wanted to make deli type ham. Has saved us a lot of money (or will eventually). And those Rada knives...OMG. They are reasonably priced and look amazing.
Be careful Rene and John, I have worked around this type of cutter for years, most of the injuries come when cleaning that machine, watch carefully where your fingers are while cleaning. Love you guys.💖💝💕
That is a beautiful slicer. And for you that is so much better than the prices you would have to pay at the deli. You could also use those big slices for ham and cabbage. Split pea soup. The list is endless. Plus you can never have enough good sharp knives in your kitchen.
Hi Renea!!! Thats a real nice food slicer. I like Rada knives. My Tomato Knife is my fav. I have lost one 3 times already. I chop alot and threw them out on accident. Then when I go to look in the garbage for it it's already on its way to the dump. So...now I use it ,wash and put it away. Anyways...your knives are nice and the slicer is so...nice. Nice to see Mr.Wayna with you in the Kitch today... I pronounce Rada like.: Raid-A!!! Great Video!!!...🦋
Oh I love Rada knives! I have been using them for years. I even request them for Christmas. And even though I had a couple bread knives, I purchased theirs several years ago and love it. Get the pizza cutter, you won't be disappointed! Really good products. Thanks for reviewing their products. And thanks for your videos - they are a nice dose of normalcy each day.
i worked at Meijer in the deli...just take the necessary percautions!!!! Turn off and close guard (to hide blade) after every cutting of chunks of meat....safty 1st!!!! IT CAN CUT YOU!!!!! Your gonna love this machine :) great for chunks of cheese to :)
I worked in the meat room at IGA grocery store for years. That's the kind of slicer we had. Please be very careful, it will cut you badly in a min. I like to chip beef on it. I'm sure you will get alot of use out of it. Love your videos and always learn something new! Thanks Renee, have a wonderful day!
Hey Renee and Mr. Wayna!!!! Those Rada knives are wonderful!! I will be ordering a pairing knife and the whisk!!!! Thank you!! I love that slicer too!!! Deli meats freeze great so I am going to get a slicer in the future.
I own some of the Rada knives that I have purchased from our Amish store near us and I also love them. Light wait and very durable, I have had them for over 8 years and use them every day. 💕
we have a similar one we got years ago, one of our favorite kitchen toy but is a bit of a job to clean it properly we make our own cured meats and other cold cuts so we plan when we use it and have plenty of stuff ready to go. also good for vegetables to go with those giant hero sandwiches.
Hi guys I’ve been working in a butcher shop in Australia for 17 years and I have used a slicer like this many times. I was always very careful not to cut myself.can’t say the same for some of the other people working there. Just keep in mind Renea always make sure the knob to adjust the slice size must be on zero while you are cleaning it .Take care it is definitely an awesome machine
Good to see you both. Brought back memories of my dad. He was a butcher and had a slicer like that in his shop…it always fascinated me watching him using it. Take care with it! x
You are a treasure! Silver polish will bring back black handles. They have been tarnished by chlorine in dishwasher detergent. But wrap blade with cloth to protect hands while polishing.
Hello Renae sorry if spelled wrong. I Love Rada Knives been using Them exclusively for 30+years. They are Great Knives for the Price. Thanks for Sharing.
Rada knives are wonderful! My mother has some that are close to 60 years old! I have been a floral designer for 35 plus years, the Rada paring knife is the only knife that I have ever used during my career! Great video...as always! ❤️
I recently bought a few of their knives and let me tell you they are sharp. My fingers would prove this. When you go from dull knives to sharp it takes a minute to adjust. Wonderful product.
What a great review by y'all. I really love the slicer. I have been wanting one for a while now. My brother has a manual slicer and he said it beats him to death so, I definitely need the electric one. As for the Rada knives... They speak for themselves. They look awesome when you and Kris use them. After my surgery, I'm going to gift myself some things as a wooo hooo gift. Thanks for showing both of them.
Rada cutlery is all I use. It is fantastic and reasonably priced! It's also made in my home state of Iowa! The slicer looks awesome and much better than the cheap plastic one I got from Harbor Freight years ago........lol
I use Rada knives but I have switched over to the black handles because I have a texture issue with the silver handles. I don't like the 'rough' feel. No one else probably notices the texture but I do. Also can not stand to touch microfiber towels.
I got a different slicer on sale through Kohl's recently but haven't played with it yet. Thank you for showing how easy it is. Can't wait to get mine out to use it now! Sounds like a tomorrow project
Have your husband read the instructions too. Keep all your fingers off the blade and lower the safety guard. It’s ok to cut the Ham roll in half so you can adjust the safety handle.
Years ago, and I mean YEARS ago, we bought our sons a racetrack for their Matchbox cars. It was like a roller coaster made out of plastic. It was made in China and we still laugh to this day whenever we pull out building instructions for anything. The first thing on the instruction list was: "Make ready the preparations".
Hi Renea I love this video! I have an older version of this meat slicer. We only use it for slicing meat for large functions like birthdays, baby showers etc as our family is big. But I would like to slice up large quantities and store them. Do you just put it n a container or do you bag it and freeze it? Just wondering how you stored all that meat following. Thank you!
@@LittleVillageHomestead I wondered. And they freezes well? I would like to be able to pick up bulk meats and have them on hand for everyday use. Thank you for responding. I love you channel! 😁
❤ Hello, Renea And Mr.John . Congratulations receiving your meat slicer . It's always a pleasure to see you together . You're the sweetest couple . And always helping each other out . Have A Blessed Day .❤💕❤💕❤💕❤💕❤💕❤💕
Just a tip for meat slicers. Do all your meats at one time. They are a pain in the you know what to clean. They also fling meat everywhere if you are doing thin pieces. Be sure to take the front piece off the blade to clean under it. There should be a knob on the back side to undo it.
I will absolutely be using your discount code/link. They are expensive on Amazon. I love Rada knives. I have some as old as I am least from my mom, and the veggie peeler from her too, still the best peeler I've had! I have only bought them from Amish shops- but I have to drive a couple hours for that so its not really a great option. Guess I never thought to look for their website
Rada knives are a decent budget line of knives. I was gifted some.. They definitely don't compare to quality kitchen knives. One of my favorites is a JA Henkel Miyabi chef knife. Everyone should have at least one good quality knife. I also have a commercial deli slicer. It was a gift from my husband but I am a hands on cutter. I do use my slicer for blocks of cheese and lunch meat but that's about it. They are so heavy that it isn't convenient to move around. It isn't very easy to clean either.
Oh love your slicer I got a slicer but it ain't that good of a one you've got a real good slicer yes you sure do love you guys ❤️ take care see you in your next video I got to watch this 11:01 tonight watching gunsmoke so you take care you and John see you in your next video and by the way that ham sure looks good
Please be careful (mainly when cleaning) when I was young I cut myself badly on a meat slicer!!! I still work in a kitchen and use one daily and I definitely respect this machine…lol
Well, I received an email that I’ve paid for one, so I’m confused! Maybe I got the last one and didn’t realize it had gone through? Am very glad I couldn’t order a second one!
Very nice slcer. Be careful. I too love Rada knives. I have two different sets and one year I bought each of my 4 children a set. I love the little sharpener too. GRANDMA SUE IN CENTRAL INDIANA
I don't have such a huge meat slicer but more of a "household" size meat slicer. I use mine to slice homemade bread, slab bacon, beef & pork roasts, ham, corned beef, bologna & all kinds of cheese. Its so handy for getting effortless, straight & even slices. Its a money saver too as the food items are usually cheaper per pound if unsliced. Why pay someone else to slice for you? Also, in the case of preservatives & additives to commercially mae "deli" meats (other than bologna or salami), its much better to just buy a whole roast, cook it yourself & slice it for coldcuts. Also, cheese kept unsliced as long as possible molds less.
My wheel house. I joke with my coworkers, 'If this was an Army weapon, I could save the USA by myself!'/ That's cool it has a sharpener! But you shouldn't have to sharpen it that frequently. It's nice to slicing cheese. Never sliced bread with mine, wonder if that would work? You have to make space for it or Mr Wayna has to haul it up from the basement every time you want to use it! ha ha! Nice buy!
My husband has a commercial grinder and smaller commercial slicer. He doesn't like to do small amounts of meat on the slicer because it is too much trouble to clean up and he would rather do large amounts of meat at one time....I don't use it or clean it so I have no opinion. I do wash the pieces of the grinder when he brings them in but he does the slicer because he is afraid I will get cut on the blade.

I would be lost without my rada tomato slicing knife. I use it to slice all my vegetables and it's never dull.
Just a tip, I always cleaned the blade with a brush.
Good Idea.
I love my Rada knives, use them daily. They keep their edge and sharpen easily.
I love how quiet the slicer is
I do too.
I love my Rada knives! I also have that cheese knife! Most Amish stores I think sell them! They also have a great fund raiser too

Make sure you put the holder back on top of meat so it keeps the pressure when you slice. I work in a deli.
Wow, that slicer is nice, very quiet too, years ago my mom had a big slice, she loved it. Not this fancy though, lol
I have a Rada paring knife that I've had forever. The best knives made to me.
