- In 11 years WCW managed to release 11 games for various platforms. This is sad, that only four games from this list give you a really entertainment. Because the rest it's almost unplayable. If you get a free time, and you really want to play some WCW Games, you must play these:

Absolutely. You look at this game, Wrestlemania 2000, and No Mercy and you wonder why they never went back to the engine/model instead of just improving the graphics of the 2K series every year...

It was at it's best in 1997 and 1998 same years World Tour and Revenge came out. Then it took a nose dive
WCW/NWO Revenge is my very first wrestling game ever played. Seeing it again gave me so much nostalgia of when things were simple.
I never noticed this til now but Tony Schiavone actually did a great job with the voice acting for these games..This is gold compared to WWE2k commentary now

WCW vs nWo Revenge is still my favorite wrestling game of all time. I loved that you were able to customize the outfits a little (so you could essentially swap factions on that way). Amazing roster too. My best bud and I spent pretty much all of High School playing that game long into the night every weekend.
I liked Thunder because of the faction swap feature. Mayhem was terrible imo...it was like a poor imitation of the N64 engine. Backstage was slightly better but it still had that clunky slowness to it.
If Revenge would of had a story mode and they used the real theme songs it’ll get No Mercy’s ass because that roster was sick!
Not everyone will agree, but i still love playing Thunder, was such an awesome game
I really wished THQ had made WCW Mayham. I was so disappointed as a kid with that game.

The NES game was awesome. Revenge and Mayhem were sick too. I still have all 3. I liked SuperBrawl but felt it could have been much better.
Wcw Nitro 1998 had a better graphics than previous game, but then next game has the same graphics as previous game.

The music in some of these games are amazing also some these games are amazing to also 2k needs to make a proper WCW and ECW game

I remember i started waking up early in October of 8th grade for school and playing wcw/nwo i absolutely loved it i think that was 1st gm managers would come out w you and to walk on the entrance ramp

As bad as WCW Nitro and Thunder were they used an early form of what would become the Smackdown engine.
I low-key think mayhem was the best because you were allowed to go backstage, plus they had a few different areas backstage depending on the arena.

Wow. I rotally dont remember the game saying "FIGHT" before the match. I remember it on screen but not audibly said on the speakers. Still, I played Pro Wrestling on NES more. THE AMAZON, FTWWWWWWW
I didn't play Pro Wrestling until college and it's the best wrestling game on the NES.

If Revenge would’ve had Mayhems presentation with the commentary and backstage would’ve been even a greater game.
How did you get wcw mayhem to play fast and smooth like that? When I had it, the game was ridiculously slow and unresponsive. Hell, even trying to get around the menu screen took about 30 years, haha
I never try to play this game on original PlayStation, so maybe it's the power of the emulator haha :D
On my n64 it ran really well.

I could only wish that Backstage Assault was a better game. It was fun when I was a kid but now it doesn't play well.
I love how Jarrett bounced off the walls on the one whip like it was ring ropes lol. So unrealistic lol

Revenge
WCW/nWo Revenge was a blast, especially when you were familiar with Japanese wrestlers because there were a lot of legends in it. They changed their names for obvious reasons but if you knew Puroresu you knew who they were. Revenge was a bit better IMO even though it wasn't as groundbreaking.
Looking forward to AEW's game that's in the works... Yuke's is on it and so is the creator of No Mercy.

I remember read video game magazine on very long time ago. Wcw video game was suppose release on ps2 with look fantastic graphics with feature goldberg on it. He was fight against random bad guys in parking lot. Similar like def jam games. But not happen. When wwe purchase wcw then wcw is out of business. So wcw game on ps2 was cancelled to replace def jam games.

I was reading there was a plan to make a Backstage Assault 2 on PS2 in 2000, but then WWF buy WCW.

What always boggled my mind was that Def Jam Vandetta was in the works to be WCWs next release on PS2 but the company folded. And Vandetta was actually a pretty good game

Is it me or should WCW have just quit making video games after 1998 and gone away as the undisputed KING of American wrestling video games? If they had stopped at wcw/nwo revenge they would have always had the title of best wrestling games by a wrestling organization ever! They just had to go make nitro and beyond for PlayStation though....smh....

I don't think Thunder came out on n64...just nitro...but it's a version of nitro that had been updated with the roster of Thunder. I honestly wouldn't bother though...nitro and thunder are two of the shittiest games of all time.
