I like to be rangey in and out with fakes leading to fast jabs into 2 n 3 punch combos, knowing distance means knowing when to Plant and when to be Light on the toes this is KEY aswell as Good Head Movement and Breathing correctly... Just what I've picked up from boxing and muay thai.. I've learned alot from your videos, thanks again 👍
At long range, I just kick! The hints about where to start the punch in your rotation depending on the type of punch you're throwing were really good details to learn.
I have been doing martial arts and boxing for so long I find it hard to learn something new. You always surprise me with new things I haven't seen before.
The subtle changes make all the difference. Thank you for the advice. Master the simple things first and the rest will follow suit. These videos are some real golden nuggets of information.
Appreciate the video Fran, I'll check out your 3-in-1 drill next. In-and-out is something I'm working on right now, as well as long-range shots, particularly not dropping the jab hand and moving or covering after jabs. Found those tips in another video called common beginner mistakes. But I have never seen a long range uppercut like yours, that was great bag work. I have always thought that it was hard to work the uppercuts on a heavy bag.
awesome! can you do a video on how to punch the bag fast with 1,2,1,2,1,2? I see some boxers punching vertically and some horizontally during these fast punches. Whats the difference? do you pivot for every cross?
😂 You are not far wrong. Not too cool to say, but lockdown has worked well for me, although plenty of others have struggled. Probably overdone the beers, but the with the running and gym sessions I think I've kept on the right side of fit 👍 Thanks for watching pal...long live Jaffa Cakes!!!
I am a nerd and while I missed training I believe this time has been good to practice alone and you have killer power for any age. Some young kids don´t even walk enough haha.
Excellent video Fran, you have helped me with the tip you mention here - i was wondering why my straight back hand always has a slight angle on it and my jab. Going to practice releasing the shot a bit later to straighten them up. I am actually going through My Boxing Coach again from scratch, for the drills and the basics. Anyone reading this that is sitting on the fence and wants to learn how to box and get fit - you need to get in: www.myboxingcoach.com - The level of detail, help and support is spot on, you will not find better anywhere! - Thanks Fran!
Thanks so much Chris, and thanks for watching. Great that you are refreshing on the basics, it's the mark of someone who genuinely wants to nail that continual improvement. And yes, that little time on 'time of release' on the shot is a big concept. Thanks again Chris, hope all is well with you mate.
Great video coach! Have you ever seen Canelo work the tear shaped bag? He hits the bag or pushes it and when it starts moving he slips, rolls under, and pivots around it. I can see what he does, but as a beginner I just wouldn't know how to break it down and do it myself (especially the footwork because no videos show his feet). The first 40 seconds of this video are a good example ruclips.net/video/aXSUIuPWe_E/видео.html He just seems to have a really good rhythm.
Great lesson as always....Don’t be pessimistic about your fitness Coach Sands, you’re in better shape than most people half your age.💪🏿💪🏽💪🏼💪🏻💪

Fran - You are a coach who practices what he preaches. Always enjoy watching you work the heavy bag. Very impressive indeed!
Thank you William 👍
Look at you go FS! A return to the golden days of youth.
😂 Thanks mate, trying to fend off Father Time
@@myboxingcoach aren't we all.

5:00 I swear you look so young and powerful just hear those killler punches ❤

Your videos are like Dean's lecture in collage. I never want to miss them.. Calm, precised and useful. As usual great work !!
Thank you, that's really kind 👍
There's several hours in the gym practicing each element. Thank you!
Excellent, glad to have been able to help 👍

Thank you, that really means a lot 👍

That is some superb footwork though, on the bag.

Thanks Adam, appreciate that mate. Yes, give those uppercuts a go. They work well for longer range, very important to drive off the feet 👍
Really good info Coach ✊!!
Great content! - Learn’t something new. I’ll definitely work on that. I like the short demonstrations, you insert here and there. Thanks 🙏👍
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Always support this channel.

Thanks Anthony 👍
Awesome content! I love your videos
Thank you 👍
Good
It looks like you've spent lockdown working on your fitness, rather than working through loads of Jaffa Cakes. Nice one 😂
