  • Today I tell how we manage the settings on our MPP SOLAR Inverters and the grid charging of our battery bank.
    We are a Fil Am couple sharing our lives between living in Texas USA and Iloilo City on Panay Island Philippines. We share dealing with two different cultures, building our solid concrete cast in place home beach side and exploring/ seeking new things. james, i work at a winery here in ca, they have a river pond set up water fall and circulation, they have same river rock, When rains come it brings sand from the mountain, silts in the river and pond , has to be manually cleaned out every 2 years to get sand out, takes weeks, pain in the butt, Hope yours is easier to clean out for maintaining. The river rock is hard to get the sand out of , Looks great

    you could stick on some insulation on the back to cool down the solar panels. there are people that are actualy watercooling their panels to cool them down.

    • @TexasFilipino
      @TexasFilipino  3 месяца назад +1

      insulation wont cool down panels in fact anything ont he back would actually hold the heat. Pumping water over the panels is a novelty for demonstration but the fact is you cant do it sustainably. Additional energy to operate pump. The care to keep up the water and it will eventually create algae on the panels. People make those videos to get paid for novelty things. These are not practical operations.

    The ancient people of Mesopotamia, the ancient Greeks for example, mastered the ability for underwater cement encasements. We just have to re-master and teach the master mix formula to the ones that have no clue to this technology.
    You be smart James.

Is that landscaping designed for keeping water at bay during storm surge? Regarding solar system, how big of a diesel generator do you think one would need to power both residential and batteries at same time during a no solar event excluding grid power?

    James, Do you source you Solar equipment through a local vendor or order direct (what's the tarrif, I've heard it's pretty steep). Yeah, setting your battery cutoff at 20% Depth of Discharge will increase there life expectancy a lot, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. You got so many project going on it wears me out just watching hahaha.

      I have a diesel gen set. I avoid it because of dirty power. EG4 makes a chargeverter for gensets to solar inverter chargers that will allow you to get max power from your genset to charge your batteries and clean the power wave.

    hi James need your advice on solar our current power load is 4-5 kw per hour day and night What size system with battery back up would be needed to handle this load would 100Kw of solar and 50KW of battery power work out the supplier on lithium battery says to achieve 6000 cycles life battery should only be 80% charged and 20 % discharge so it looks like the 50Kw off battery can only supply 30kw of useable power is this correct thanks will buy you a beer at the beaver
