- Today I tell how we manage the settings on our MPP SOLAR Inverters and the grid charging of our battery bank.
We are a Fil Am couple sharing our lives between living in Texas USA and Iloilo City on Panay Island Philippines. We share dealing with two different cultures, building our solid concrete cast in place home beach side and exploring/ seeking new things. We hope you enjoy and join to be part of a bigger family here on this channel.
Thank you for being apart of our channel and lives.

Your definitely my solar guru. ❤
Watch and learn
I love how you always put your guests first, always thinking ahead for their benefit. This world needs more people like you.
Customer service 101 guy it's like common sense.
@@bobbq9290 It seems blackouts are expected, and just a part of life in the Philippines. If one were so inclined, they can use that as an excuse. Maybe most/all motels have backup plans in place?
@onekerri1 this Texas guy is off grid he don't worry for brown out. Self dependant in other words.
I agree. I have had to leave Resorts because they didn't want to run a generator.
@@bobbq9290 slight correction, he is still connected to the grid, he has often mentioned that!
I think I said it before
That you and your family and friends amaze me
What you are doing is keeping those local men in work and there self esteem is a tribute to you and your wife
EVERYTHING LOOKS GREAT THE GREEN IS COMING BACK
When it comes to solar panels you get good information Great rule of thumb ideas I can use in the future
Watch and learn Boy.
I'm glad that your Solar / Battery energies are balanced. Sweet
I like the weather report and to know the day of the week. It's amazing how quickly your grass came back.
james, i work at a winery here in ca, they have a river pond set up water fall and circulation, they have same river rock, When rains come it brings sand from the mountain, silts in the river and pond , has to be manually cleaned out every 2 years to get sand out, takes weeks, pain in the butt, Hope yours is easier to clean out for maintaining. The river rock is hard to get the sand out of , Looks great
👍😎
Wow lots to know about Soler power!
Thanks James & Mel, seems I always learn something on every video. The place is looking great.
Good morning love you're show
I like your videos, james
you could stick on some insulation on the back to cool down the solar panels. there are people that are actualy watercooling their panels to cool them down.
insulation wont cool down panels in fact anything ont he back would actually hold the heat. Pumping water over the panels is a novelty for demonstration but the fact is you cant do it sustainably. Additional energy to operate pump. The care to keep up the water and it will eventually create algae on the panels. People make those videos to get paid for novelty things. These are not practical operations.
You manage your solar like I do mine. Even though I have about 1000ah of batteries and 10k of panels...I still sweat it a bit when the sun don't shine for a few days in a row.
Good to know, How is Amazon services here, Would like to start using, Love Prime in the States. You little Resort Rocks, I only worry about super Typhoons because you very well rounded as a engineer/architect farm boy. 😊, God Bless
Hi James, good morning 🌞 The progress on your place is looking great! You and Miss Mel are a joy to watch just carrying on with your lives. Marilyn and I hope you both enjoyed the 4th of July 🎉🥳🇺🇸
The ancient people of Mesopotamia, the ancient Greeks for example, mastered the ability for underwater cement encasements. We just have to re-master and teach the master mix formula to the ones that have no clue to this technology.
You be smart James.
One of these days I need to get together with You, James. To understand the BEST setup for a Solar System.
What do You think of a diesel backup generator, for a complete loss of power?
I have a diesel gen set here. Nvr use it
I did not know that,James. About concrete. Joe
👍
James, thanks again for the education. What is the total wattage of all your panels and the total amp hours of your batteries?
Pay attention guy
@@bobbq9290 ok bbq smartypants. Why dont you direct me to the time stamp where my question is addressed.
Sorry, just now seeing this episode. Great job with the hacienda, you have great vision with your build. This is two part questions. Is that landscaping designed for keeping water at bay during storm surge? Regarding solar system, how big of a diesel generator do you think one would need to power both residential and batteries at same time during a no solar event excluding grid power?
Hey brother I liked this vedieo Salamat Po . How pretty was that bird your talking about ?? You never showed it lol 😆.
Texan you be so smart it's scarry dude. You have so much knowledge in that head bro I just hope you don't snap or blow a overload fuse one day lmao 🤣. That could become a dangerous situation 🤣 you might be bumbling around like JOEY B 🤣 lmao 🤣. Take care always Kuya. See ya in the funny papers .
James, please less monolog, more Mel exercise vlogs…😊
I hear ya dawg
Wow that hulahoop.
Net metering! Use the grid for your storage.
NO way
Sir would it help if you put your wind turbine back to operation? So the battery will get a charge at night.
Hey James how's the solar water heater system doing for you guys ?
Thinking about setting that up for myself
It works great!
James, Do you source you Solar equipment through a local vendor or order direct (what's the tarrif, I've heard it's pretty steep). Yeah, setting your battery cutoff at 20% Depth of Discharge will increase there life expectancy a lot, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. You got so many project going on it wears me out just watching hahaha.
James, I thought you had a few wind turbines in your power distribution system. You didn't mention them in your discussion so I was just wondering if you still have them and if so, what are there effects
Yes I have a turbine. The power is too irregular to count. I do like it. For now I have it down but it's going back up soon
Great video. So SUB with guest. What about a Generator backup? But SBU for General use without guest.
I have a diesel gen set. I avoid it because of dirty power. EG4 makes a chargeverter for gensets to solar inverter chargers that will allow you to get max power from your genset to charge your batteries and clean the power wave.
hi James need your advice on solar our current power load is 4-5 kw per hour day and night What size system with battery back up would be needed to handle this load would 100Kw of solar and 50KW of battery power work out the supplier on lithium battery says to achieve 6000 cycles life battery should only be 80% charged and 20 % discharge so it looks like the 50Kw off battery can only supply 30kw of useable power is this correct thanks will buy you a beer at the beaver
During rainy or cloudy day do you or can you use yur windmill
James, how dose the windmill work ?
Hi James, How can I book your beach front kubo for my wife and I during September.
write me on jamesray080808@gmail.com and give me the exact dates and we can make it happen
Hi James, with the solar power, how long will it take to get your investment back ?
Already have
What’s your backup if James goes offline.🤪
James.....what happened to the wind generator...???...😳🤔🤔
It makes too much power
Too much of anything can be limited or throttled in one way or another...!!!???🤔🤔
@johnbalcom5083 there was a storm coming so he took it down. Do you have a smart ass answer for that?
@johnbalcom5083 dude I suggest you watch the vlogs so that you are in the know.
@bobbq9290 yeah well I watch most but I do have a life too...but thanks a bunch for your 2 cents !!! 👍😡
ADD. Isn’t that bird pretty. SQUIRREL!! 😂
HA HA HA I enjoy that bird each day
@@TexasFilipino it was funny!! Show us that bird!
To be honest the Buccees jerky is the truth serum to get you to advise me on building my solar system. In Vancouver. Tomorrow Vancouver Island. Hopefully be in Cebu by mid July. Maybe head to you after that with your jerky delivery. Never been to Panay.
