Loved your autobiography, Jean. I used to watch you & Alex Anderson in the early 2000s on TV. I was a beginning quilter & retired, living in FL. I'm still following you even tho we're both older! 😆 still love quilting. You never fail to inspire me!
You have the best color sense and I appreciate that. I can see that you intuitively “feel” the colors. For me I “hear” them. Only someone with synesthesia could choose colors like you do.
I loved this! Thank you for sharing your inspirations!! I absolutely love that you collect rocks and small objects from nature and that it shows up in your creations. Keep inspiring us!!!
I have been so impressed with your teachings with Improv. Visited your store at Stitchin Post on-line and loved to hear your family history. When I went on your website Wow I was so impressed. I called the store I thought at first I was talking to Val. She said I am not Val I asked if she carried Paint Splatter. She looked it up and we don't carry that fabric. I asked if I could order the fabric. NO!! This fabric Store Stitchin Post is one of the "Best" fabric I have seen in a while as a lot of fabric stores in my are are closing Seattle area.. Stitchin Post is a great place to experience a lot of creative ideas. It wasn't what she said it was how she said it. All your RUclipss are awesome. Just letting you know I did not have a good experience and not very welcoming at all. Like she is not ready for her day. Thank you Jean for teaching me Improv. I love creating with Improv techniques . It has been a great experience Have a nice day Jean.

What a great recap and tutorial, especially appreciate your newer quilting skills, I like that! Keep on keepin on as they say, hope to make it back to The Stitchin Post again by next July!
So lovely! Hello and I hope you had a bright and happy day. I just got to sit down and this day has been unusual. I'm very grateful for this time to watch. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Thank you for posting your video and your talent.
Hi Jean, I took a class from you over 40 years ago in Tacoma through NAGOPS. It was strip quilting in garments. I made a little pink and yellow vest for my daughter and later a dress for myself. I still have both. In more recent years I have attended two outdoor quilt shows and one week of classes before s show. What wonderful memories. Just took out my autographed copy of "from Quilts to Clothing.....Pieced and Puffed Apparel." Thank you for all that you have contributed to the quilting community.
This was wonderful! You are such an inspiration and your love of nature and the creative ways you express that appreciation in your art and home is truly amazing. I wish this video had been hours long!
What a wonderful interview! Upon retirement in 2011 I took one of your classes when you were in Portland and was reintroduced to quilting which I hadn’t done since the 70’s when I made a granny dress with a quilted bodice. I have been hooked ever since and count myself very lucky to live nearby where I can attend classes and events at Quilters Affair every year, even online during the pandemic! Thank you for everything you do and have done to educate and inspire us and to bring forward this mission so successfully into the generations to come!
Thank you Jean, for all you do. You have always been an inspiration to me, since I first took a design class with you at Common Thread. I hope to see you again at Quilter's Affair, which is always a highlight of my year.
Inspiration and Education!! Oh my goodness such a wonderful video!!! You most assuredly inspire me and you have educated me from these videos and will do so next month while I attend the QA and SOQS. I'm so blessed to get to make the trip across country in July to hopefully meet you in person! It is on my Bucket List Quilt, which you will see next week, yes, it is LITERALLY on my Bucket List Quilt. I name names LOL. I have to cross off everything on that fiber list! I am so excited it is hard to contain it LOL. Congratulations on the success of your shop and on raising such a wonderful family. Hugs to everyone!!
