Hi Miriam, looks amazing, I just have one question"Did you use any yeast in the ingredients?' Thanks
Ohhhh. Myyy. Gooood. 😍😍 looks delicious!!!
This is sooooo good 👍
Welcome back..love it⚘❤
I make it in Arabic and English similar way please watch and share
love you recipe
WOW - I never thought it to be so easy!! We just had yesterday for breakfast (in a restaurant) and women make it the night before with proper "samna baladi" 😋😋😋 - if you're Egyptian, dear Miriam, you know what I'm talking about. Never mind Crisco ... "samna baladi" is it!! I sometimes buy one and just top it with home made Sauce Bolognese. This with a salad is a perfect (not so light) lunch. This is the problem with the Egyptian cuisine - super tasty but not too good for the waste line 🤣. Thanks a lot 🤩
I'm Egyptian and yes it's a struggle to be Egyptian and maintain a small waist line 😂😂
@@MiriamzKitchen I had a feeling that you're a woman of Om el Dounya 😂! Believe me, also for us Europeans it's very difficult - the food is just soooooo tasty, it's almost a crime! Keep the nice recipes coming and thanks a lot 😍!
Thanks alot ...first time to bake right Feteer ❤❤❤
Hope you enjoyed it 🥰
Great recipe! You make it look easy!
This looks sooo delicious. Almost like filo pastry!
It's similar in how decedent it is 😁
Hi miriam! Haven’t tried making it at home but since you made it look so easy to make why not give it a try 😊 my husband’s egyptian and love’s feteer so much! But can i use samna instead of crisco?
Hello 👋
U can use samna but to get a result as close to the real deal as possible crisco works best but samna will work as well
Looks delicious 😍🥰
Hi and thanks for the recipe. Question though, if not using yeast or baking soda, what’s the purpose of resting for two hours? Just engineering curiosity.
Thanks
To form gluten and make the dough more stretchy😊
Understood . Appreciate it.
Looks delicious 😋 as always
I will try 😋
Mmmmm! 😋
Looks so good
Looks delicious!
Looks yummy! How do you make sure it doesn’t come out dry? I tried it twice and no luck so far. ☹️
High temperature oven lots of crisco and u have to cover it in foil once it comes out and leave it for 15- 30 minutes.
Thank you Miriam 😊
Same, I've made a stuffed one and it was hard haha. I'll try wrapping in foil and leaving it the next time.
Do you think it can work with wholemeal flour?
I don't think it would work as well. This recipe needs gluten, and wholemeal flour has less gluten than regular bleached white flour. 🤔
@@MiriamzKitchenCorrect! It would become a "cake" instead of a "pastry" as it would not have that "lace" like filament structure!
Understanding how things work, like learning how to be patient, let a dough "rest" and how to cooking slowly or quickly make such differences..😋
It's a process of exploration & discovery!❤
*This looks like an "easy way" to make what's similar to a French croissant ("QUWAi-SANT"!😂) for those who fear all of the rolling butter pats!😂
@@francisconti9085 it is indeed very similar as it gives the same satisfaction of layered, buttery pastry 🥰🥰 just "easier-ish" 😁
@MiriamzKitchen Well said!😋😂
Good job Miriam! Looks great!
تسلم ايدك ياعسل
Hi, when do you put the cheese in between? I love this pastry, I fell in love with this when I first tried it in UAE.
You can add whatever filling u like in the second ball before folding it 😁
@@MiriamzKitchen Thank you!
Looks amazing. Did you use all the dough balls on 1 whole feeteer, or did u use 3 dough balls to make 1 whole feeder. How many feteers did you make with this recipe?
3 balls each fetera, i made about 5 total but i like them on the smaller side. The number of total feteer depends on how big you want it
@@MiriamzKitchen Perfect, I’ll give that a try. Thank you so much for your help
@@MiriamzKitchen is each ball considered a layer?
More than one layer actually, since when folded it technically creates about 4 layers and each fteera is made out of 3 balls minimum so technically there's about 12 layers
Is it necessary to enjoy it cause I perfer inhaling it
🤣🤣🤣 i don't blame you.
Go for it 😁😁
Hi Miriam , it has been so long . Welcome back
Thank you 🥰🥰
So many things happened but I'm back now 😁
This looks amazing! Please could you show us how to make the one with chicken and cheese inside? X
Absolutely not.
Where do live ? I live in Barcelona & i am die heart fan of futair mushltat i don't know where to buy in Barcelona
It's easy, make it yourself 😁😁
Hi Miriam. How do we make this seyamy? Vegetable shortening? Or is oil best?
Crisco is shortening and siamy which is perfect for feter even if u r not fasting 😁
Hi. Would you please say the arabic of crisco again? And can I substitute ghee instead of crisco? Thanks
Zebda tonsy.
You can substitute with ghee but the crisco gives you the best results.
Here is the Arabic version of this video:

What if you don’t have a mixer… what do you suggest?
You can knead it by hand, it will just need a little bit of elbow greace 💪💪
This looks so good ✅✅✅
I think I put 2 Kilos
Just by looking at the recepie 🥰🥰🥰
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
😂😂 imagine eating it too.
I don't make kt often coz i know I'll be putting on so much weight if i did 🙈
What do I use it I don’t have crisco or the tunis butter can I use normal butter or not ?
You can use shortening ir if u can't gwt your hands on it just use butter
Melted crisco or liquid crisco oil? Can olive oil be used?
It will have a very strong taste and the texture wonbe the same
THANKS
#CHEFMASUD
#DOHA#QATAR
Can ghee be used instead of crisco?
It can, crisco gives it a better end result
But ghee will work fine as well
What kind of flour did you use in u.s
All purpose flour
Its like roti canai from Malaysia.
What was added inside???
This one is plain but u can add any filling u like.
Some suggestions for savory:
Cheese, pastrami, olives, onions, sujouk
For sweet:
Fill with Custard or sprinkle powdered sugar and add some hot milk on top
Or just eat it plain with cheese or honey or a mix of black honey (molasses) and tahini
I am sorry but this has nothing to do with croissant. It is unique Egyptian recipe with unique taste.
Its very close to Croissants, just different shape
this reminds me of some great nights in heliolopolis
My neighborhood 😁😁
@@MiriamzKitchen if u can get the recipe for the shawerma from abou haidar please ive been craving it forever lol 🥺
Katmer in Turkish
Looks like Chinese muslim food 油香😘
Good honey 🍯
Hi Miriam! Thank you so much for this video. If you get a moment, would you mind looking at my attempt? I'm in a bit of a YT feud with this jerk of a guy... I would really appreciate your thoughts on my video. I had fun trying to make it!
I loved your video, i left you a comment there. Great job 👏
@@MiriamzKitchen thank you so much--you are a wonderful teacher!
Crisco?????😢NOOOOOOO……you need to do better! Using WAY TOO MUCH at all stages of prep. Just a greasy mess. Could’ve been much much better. I don’t like to leave negative comments but this is taking the easy way, which is subtracting YEARS from people’s lives if they actually consume this regularly. Not only health, but Crisco is a low quality taste….low end.
This is definitely not a healthy treat, but it’s undeniably a delicious indulgence. We don’t make it regularly-in fact, it’s something we reserve for those rare occasions because of how "bad" yet irresistibly tasty it is.
Using butter for this recipe, unfortunately, doesn’t yield the same results. While ghee can be a better alternative, it still doesn’t compare to the texture and flavor you get with Crisco. Although Crisco isn’t traditionally used in Egypt, it’s the closest substitute available.
And yes, there’s really no way around using this amount of fat for this particular pastry. 🙈 I know it might seem excessive, but trust me-once you taste it (an indulgence best saved for maybe once a year 😂), you’ll understand why it’s worth the splurge!
To much cholesterol. Lol
I agree, It's not healthy but we usually make and eat Feteer every now and then.
Plus to be completely honest older generations of Egyptian are very chill when it comes to eating healthy 🙈🙈
But i still can't help but absolutely love Feteer 😂
Cholesterol is good for the brain
That's what i tell myself every time i eat this 😁
@@MiriamzKitchen
Cholesterol is good for our happiness too
actually, I hate healthy food
