  • I was joined by Trains2U18 for about half the time. After having a rainy day on Monday, we decided to head out to Canton Junction to see some high speed Amtrak trains. It happened to be that we picked a good day to be on the Northeast corridor. First, we saw a decent amount of Amtrak trains with good horn shows. With CSX B733 in the picture taking an unusual route, I stayed as long as possible. Luckily, there were some other interesting things coming my way. After Trains2U18 left, I saw a few more Amtrak trains on Track 1 (the outbound platform), and then decided I should probably switch tracks to get a good picture of the Amtrak inspection cars on the rear of 172. The inspection cars were 10005 (Catenary Measurement) and 10002 (Corridor Clipper), the track Geometry car. As I was switching from Platform A to Platform D, the train approaching signs went off. At first I thought it was a commuter rail; when I saw a CSX rounding the curve, I tried my best to get my camera out as fast as possible and keep it as steady as possible. This was CSX B733 running on an unusual route on the Northeast corridor. After the CSX went past, I saw one more MBTA express train, and then I saw Amtrak 172 with the inspection cars. I was happy about all my catches today, except the fact that CSX B733 snuck up behind me and I couldn't get the best video possible.
    Thanks for watching!
