Rea reminds me of my dog named Buster. He was a mix of a Beagle and Basset Hound, so he was just an especially floppy cute Beagle in appearance. He died back in 2020 because we had to put him down (still hurts), but he lived to be old, fat and happy. What a cuddly and goofy guy

It warms my heart any time I see a new dog owner that genuinely realizes a dog is a living being, not just a cute thing to keep around while it’s young and healthy.
1:56 I've volunteered at my local humane society and most of the dogs become very used to hopping in cars! That's how we get them from location to location when we bring them out for adoption. Some dogs can be scared in the car but most become familiar with the action after a short stay at the shelter and going to a few events.

You won the cat lottery. I always find it so disappointing when at a friend's house and their own cat treats them like a stranger they don't want to bother with, except of course to get food from and then immediately bounce to their hiding spots to never be seen.

You think so? Walking around pretty much any town there are loads of cats hanging around and many of them come up for a pet or can be enticed to do so - dogs, not so much! Cats are very gregarious when they grow up around humans, whereas dogs have often been bred for guarding and work rather than companionship per se.
One of our cats is extremely friendly and affectionate. Like if somebody was afraid of cats, you would show them Jasper, that's how friendly he is. Jasper's brother, on the other hand...not so much.

My dog's story is very similar, i didn't want a dog because even after 3 years i was still kinda grieving over our previous one, but my mom showed me a picture of a dog who looked very much like a dirty rag who needed a home, and who was described as very cuddly, as soon as she arrived i just, i just cracked, she won me over in less than a week man, i love her so much
I can relate to this so much. My husband found our dog and at the time I said I was ready but it took a bit to open my heart to her. She started as a Daddy’s girl, but now she’s my Daisy baby and the best fur baby/doggy sister to our daughter. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog and we love her.
This reminds me of my parents’ dog. I came over to watch her shortly after they got her because they had planned to go out of town. This tiny, tiny puppy (I cannot emphasize how small she was; she fit in the palm of my own small hand), just followed me everywhere. Let me pick her up without even squirming. I had to move my car, so I just picked her up and took her with me. Not a peep. I remember saying, “It would be very easy for anyone to kidnap you.” She was just happy to go along. She’s now four and still this way. Loves and trusts absolutely everyone. She’s also still small, weighs only 17 lbs, so she’d still be easy to kidnap.

This reminds me of my parents’ dog. I came over to watch her shortly after they got her because they had planned to go out of town. This tiny, tiny puppy (I cannot emphasize how small she was; she fit in the palm of my own small hand), just followed me everywhere. Let me pick her up without even squirming. I had to move my car, so I just picked her up and took her with me. Not a peep. I remember saying, “It would be very easy for anyone to kidnap you.” She was just happy to go along.
She’s now four and still this way. Loves and trusts absolutely everyone. She’s also still small, weighs only 17 lbs, so she’d still be easy to kidnap.
This was the most wholesome story ever! I legit got teary eyed when he finally let Rea into the bed and she wagged her tail. Ahhhhhh!! I have been dying to adopt a cat, and this just made me want to even more! But I'm waiting until I get a house! D*:

I never asked my mom for a pet because of shedding. It grosses me out. When we got cats it wasn’t too bad. And when her and her girlfriend decided they wanted a dog I was worried. But they got yorkies and they’re hypoallergenic. So they doing shed. And they’re so cute. I never thought I’d be attached to a dog in my life

We have 5 rescues - 2 cats and 3 dogs and the cleaning is a pain in the butt but sooo worth it. They are good babies.
