Something that would really help with the hard and soft signs (or hard vs. soft in general) is if you could pronounce words that contain them twice, once correctly and once incorrectly as if the sign wasn't there. For example, at 6:31 it sounds obvious what the difference is, but I think it's more difficult to hear in words than single letters in isolation, and having an immediate direct comparison might make it easier.

As a Portuguese native speaker(from Brazil), I think it's very easy to pronounce russian words, tough I'm learning russian for only 4 days hahahaha but I don't see much difference from spoken Portuguese.

Привет, Катя, буквы «я» и «е» различаются, когда в них есть ударение. Но когда они безударны, они звучат почти одинаково. Например, в слове “язык” буква «я» звучит точно так же, как буква «е» в "сестра". я прав? Кстати, это был урок с большим количеством информации, мне действительно нужно посмотреть его еще несколько раз.
И ситуация на данный момент сложная для всех, но, безусловно, также и для тех, кто преподает русский язык, а также для тех, кто хочет изучать этот язык. Будем надеяться, что это скоро закончится. 👋🏻 Рюд.

Это очень важное для нас кто говорим другими слованскими языками. На пример у нас в словакии мы скажем "jazyk" и мы это читаем й-а-з-и-к но у вас по русский это читаете й-ь-з-ы-к. Или "hory" это 'горы' но у нас это звучит: х (или украйинское Г) - о - р - и. У вас это читается г-а-р-ы 🏞️. И другая вещ. Буква Г читаете как В . Его (й-э-в-a) у нас это ест "jeho" (й-э-х-о (х - лучше украйинское Г))

Is there a rule for voice-less (silent) consonants before voiced ones, the opposite of the rule where voiced ones become unvoiced when preceding a voiceless consonant?

а к чему ты это высрал тут?
Как пишется так и читается, да оговорки допустимы, но еще учитывается региональные особенности языка. К примеру в регионах от Москвы, многие замечают что все О-кают, потому что как видим так и читаем и слова харошо, адевайся звучат неестественно.

the cyrillic h is not transliterated to have a silent k infront of h in latin text.
also horizontal is not read as "gorizontal"
That's because Russian derives from ancient Russian, but it adopted a lot of words from church Slavonic, obviously those adopted words over the centuries changed in order to be pronounced more natural to a Russian speaker. I don't really understand why you got so mad to call it 'ignorant', that's a millenia-long process that can't be reversed. Languages change, only dead ones stay the same.
