I literally had a dream on Monday that I walked into blade hq and the guy behind the counter looked at me and said "how yall doin s' Jared". Same voice and everything. I have been thinking about it ever since. I might be traumatized emotionally.
@@Lugermonger35 Hey, I've been enjoying your content recently, and I enjoy flipping my butterfly knife. Do you have a recommendation for a beginner's knife(trainer) so I can get better?
Love your collection. I had one back in the 90s that got stolen from me. And have searched for a true benchmade every since. Found my 1st one last year at a swapmeet in Missouri the #67. These things are hard to find. Especially now I moved back to California. I cant even find a shop to do a professional cleaning and sharpening. Mine sat in my gun locker for about 6 months and has a couple small black dots on the blade.😭
My problem with knives (I own 60+ now, with ~50 being $100 or more) is that I’m not a tactile person...EXCEPT with knives. Nearly every knife I’ve bought is something I love to fiddle around with in my hands. The only ones I don’t like are some of my early purchases that aren’t worth the trouble I’d have to go through to sell them.
Most people normally encounter this problem when buying things, but it is funny to see that you are on the other end of the spectrum. Owning things is more complicated than just purchasing or selling an item.
I go threw this in my head everyday, just bought a Black Washed Kershaw Lucha so I decided to sell my old Lucha then I changed my mind 33 times and decided to keep both. (I love them)💪
I go through the same thing every time I go to sell knives. I just have to remind myself I don’t have infinite funds to pump out videos and do giveaways so I have to sell. And then the culling happens and I cry in the corner for two weeks. But eventually I’ll get over it...right?
I actually have an idea, instead of selling knives, trade them for a short period of time. Others can try out your knives for a month and you can try theirs and neither of you has to spend money. You can also buy them off each other after that month if both sides prefer their borrowed knives.
This crack is really good crack. I like crack a lot. I'm going to keep this piece of crack. I am also going to keep all of the other crack rocks I have been more crack rock is better than less crack rock.
For me as a newbie it's important to compare balis and because I don't know people who own some I have to buy and sell until I found my holy grail. Example: Tang vs. zen pins? Bushings vs bearings? Sandwich vs. channel design? Do I need a pocketclip? After figuring all that out the question remains where to get something affordable that has everything that I want... And that is legal in my country (Germany)... Aaaaarh!
So to help, the 51, barebones, and the tach 3s honestly aren't worth selling to secondary market, they don't get any sort of good prices second hand, unless you sell all at once, they're stuff you might as well keep if you're only gonna sell one. The hom, ab, rep and petrel are sadly the only ones that'll drive decent prices which kinda sucks
As another Balisong collector, I feel the same way, but I won't sell any knife, because I know I will have sellers remorse. With a collection that hit a 4 digit number 5 times in cost, I have definetly put a tight hold on my wallet. To the point that I have to budget for knives, and cut out other expenses. Firearms too.
I do the same but I have to choose between guns and knives it's a very rare guns win occasionally but for some reason $500 on a gun seems like more money than $500 on a knife
@@Lugermonger35 For me, 600 is a bit much on a knife. 1500+ is a bit much for guns. I cannot even fathom how much I spent in guns, but I know it is probably double the cost of my knives.
I’m new flipper looking for a good knife in the 100 dollar range, any recommendations and where to get them? And nice collection, I’m jealous, I collect knives but I haven’t had a live blade balisong yet, I plan to get one soon, sometime this month just trying to get a good one so it lasts
Live balisong are gard to get under 100. I am not 100% up to speed with all the balis that are currently being sold but i believe a dogbite or a maxace might be around your budget. But you are probably spending 150
These ain't flippers dammit! Well apart from that, i get the same issues, with the exception that my knives all fall into two categories: worth basically nothing (at most 50 bucks new) so not worth selling or built myself so sentimental and quite difficult to sell too.
The way I always look at it is if aren’t using it you don’t need it. Why? Because of you died tomorrow someone is getting it free or of little charge and they’re going to use them and you passed having never enjoyed them. Scary thought but very realistic.
I have this problem with flipping my knives and end up just flipping my rep all the time but I have all these other knives I can flip but i forget about em and leave them to collect dust
This is called "being a collector with good taste" syndrome. It's my whiskey collection, and soon to be my knife collection (assuming I actually have good taste XD)
I am confused about the 51. Was it discontinued? It's not on BladeHQ nor the BladeHQ and some say It's discontinued. Love the collection btw. I only have BM51 as my only good knife and I feel emotionally attached to it so I partially know how you feel. Hopefully I can get the replicant one day. Or perhaps the Basilisk. Love knifes way too much
Is your name Jared, or Jerry? Thought it was Jared, but not sure. Wanted to get it right. Also, do you think that Kershaw knives are better than Buck? Because I know that Buck uses 420 steel (but its heat treated). Not sure exactly what type Kershaw uses.
I'm 100% the same way man. That being said, I've always regretted not getting one of the Stormtrooper Tachs, hit me up on IG if you're ever interested in selling/trading/swapping, permanent or even just temporary!
I know exactly how you feel. Like I have 2 dirtbike. Do I need 2? no. But one I don't ride often because it's loud and fast but it's rare and fun. But I can't sell the small one because it's quiet and I can pick it up any time and go for a ride because it's low maintenance. I know exactly how you feel
I have 25 knifes nothing cheaper then 300 nothing higher then 700 . I keep them in shoe boxes in a foot locker box . Some I haven’t touched in 10 years I went through them the other day and wow I have a very nice collection all in the original box all paper work and receipts. Some in the original brown box 📦 they came from like blade HQ and other shops . The sticker amd free merchandise still in the box .
