Not trying to be greedy but a 2026 release date would be absolutely horrendous. It needs to be 2025 and then maybe for the 20th anniversary do a remaster collection or something but that’s insane to think they would wait another two years and I would make it seven or eight years since release date, which is absolutely not. They need to step it up.

Either way, a story like this has to be grounded in already existing lore in the books and other media relating to e-day, that and they're pushing the Series X to it's limit with ue5, a lot of the time is going to be spent refining environments, animation, and general gameplay. Lastly, you have to also take into account that they're building it from the ground up.

If TC releases the game in 2026, the gears of war collection might as well be announced and released right after. Like gears of war 4 with ultimate edition and gears of war 5 with gears tactics.

I really hope it releases next year. Two years is a long wait since it's been 5 since the last major Gears game. Tactics is great, but I'm ready to play the next major release.

I think i heard you say once that you haven't read the books. This kind of surprised me given that you're the biggest Gears fan I know. I'm not a big reader but I gave the books a chance since I loved the Gears storyline so much and wanted to know more. If anything, I highly recommend you read the Aspho Fields book. It's legit awesome and can shed some light on Pendulum War events leading to emergency day. If reading isn't your thing, like myself, some sites offer the audiobook or CD. I would love to watch an Aspho Fields book review video by you one day.
So gears of war 1 is set 18 years after e-day (which it tells you at the start of the game) but gears of war e-day takes place 2 months after e-day but it’s also set 14 years before gears of war 1 either im slow or the math isn’t mathing (I’m terrible at math)
Gears of war 1 is set 14 years after e day. This game is about e day, the actual day the locust attacked for the first time
Gears 1 is 14 years after E-Day. Marcus is imprisoned ten years into the Locust war for going AWOL and spends four years locked up before Dom frees him.

I’d say we may not hear anything until Xbox June showcase for 2025 with maybe a fall release date
I think they need to release the game next year otherwise they'll lose all the hype they have for the game which is what gears needs at this point
Forget hype. Gears does not need hype. Gears needs a well written well executed story and gameplay to make up for gears 4&5 being pretty crappy entries in the series.

I need this game to be like the ORIGINAL game, the first Gears of War game was THE BEST game ever released, every game after that went downhill, Gears 3 was not too bad, Ultimate Edition was fine, then 4 and 5 were ass! Please make the movement and stuff like the original Gears!!

Gears 1 was developed in like a year or less so the fact that I have to wait 2 years for this is sooooo gay.

Gear 6 needs a revamp. The same old game with same old pvp is just not going to cut it> the game needs to be brought into the modern age like god of war. But we all know that this game will be another low budget xbox game pass game.
I get people want it to be 2025, but no way it’s doesn’t release till 2026, Xbox likes to space out their games and there are already so many coming out 2025

I would rather get Gears E Day in 2026 fully complete rather than a rushed 2025 that has bugs and doesn’t play well.

Releasing it in 2026 is awful because thats when GTA 6 is coming out and it's going to be tough competition. Also alot of us think 7 years since gears 5 is too long of a wait but if yall really can make the perfect gears game I'd wait till 2026.

Agreed, if they want to bring gears into the modern era correctly they have to gradually work to it. Story and Co-op should be top priority.

The issue is that TC unfortunately created a shallower, less interesting enemy in the Swarm, and the majority of the fanbase doesn’t connect as much with the newer cast of heroes.
The stories in 4 and 5 have largely not been as well received as the og trilogy, and it’s because of the sidegrade in enemies and characters. E-Day makes sense

If this game launches in 2026 just to hit a 20th anniversary that would be absolutely stupid as hell. Announcing this game 2 years out is just another stupid mistake. No game should be announced ever with a wait more than 9 months. With the exception of Metroid Prime 4 the way Nintendo has been doing it is nearly perfect just like their games.

Wat I want to see from E-Day is the game of Thrashball and how it's played. But more importantly vehicles that we haven't ride, Pendulum Wars, UIR, Hammer of Dawn construction.
I’m way more interested in the release dates of Doom DA and Metroid Prime 4. Gears of war and Halo are dead franchises.
