- Review of the Masters of the Universe Origins Cartoon Skeletor figure that is inspired from the 80s Filmation Cartoon. I also mix and match parts with other Skeletor figures from the Origins, Classics, and Masterverse lines.
I told myself i wouldn't get these figures but here i am with all of wave 1 lolI always watch your reviews even if i have the figures because your reviews are so good

These origins figures are so great. I love the vintage style and filmation. The only things missing are vertical hinged, non thumbs up grip hands, and extra fists / gesture hands. I would buy so many extra hand sets and weapon packs. Wish there was a good way to let Mattel know.

I wish they also came with those extra hands in other positions with the other hinges. I guess you only see that in the deluxe package like the Mattel creations Skeletor coming. I think Mattel marking department has an email that can voice opinion. I'm sure they comment all the time.

Amazon had pre-orders for $17. Ordered mine last week.
I also have the New Eternia Skeletor - the one you have to the left of this figure - which is really cool but he would have looked better with boots like this one instead of claw feet.
Thanks for watching and sharing your toy haul updates! $17 dollars is a good price for this cartoon Skeletor. He is a really cool design for the Origins line as far as the Filmation look goes. The New Eternia Skeletor is still one of my favorites in the Masterverse line. You can also just use a pair of Masterverse boots of other figures a put them on the legs. Legs are removable with some heat and then you can put other boots on the pegs.👍

Thanks for watching! What's good with these cartoon figures is the fact that they mix and can be customized with many Regular Origins parts like showed. So it's fun to switch heads, armor, and boots to get the look you want. The Super7 filmation figures are really cool and more accurate to the cartoon. But they are Classics and doing something different than the Origins as far as details.

Man, these are really cool. I’m really digging skeketor. Was waiting for your review to see how the heads we’re going to work, pretty cool. I’m going to be cherry, picking this line, he-man, and Skeletor 100% sure I got pre-ordered. But I hope they dive into the more obscure characters in the cartoon, this might be the way that they’ll introduce POP in the line.

But I can see people cherry picking or not interested in a lot of these figures who just want the regular Origins. I was curious about those head masks, too. The female mask only fits the Male cartoon characters and not the regular Origins female figures like I showed. I have a feeling the new cartoon Teela and other females coming forward will have the same pegs as the males now. Then that tyrella make will fit. I can also see the POP figures coming in this line as well 👌

I wish the face of skeletor was better though. The super7 was (almost) PERFECT
His eyes sockets need more black around the interior rim!
The Super7 filmation Skeletor is designed with better details and accuracy to the cartoon because they are part of the classics line and expected to di that. These origins Cartoon figures are gonna not gonna be as detailed as those classics. But I think they came out alright! There's always room for improvement or custom work if needed. i really want some 200x figures from the masterverse line. these look great but i just don't like the scale for origns

I think the first early filmation cartoon short had the characters look more like the vintage figures and had a very serious tone. I remember seeing that on RUclips. But then, filmation decided to make the characters simpler and more appealing to little kids or more cartoon friendly. Today, these figures have a cult following with both the Vintage Inspired Origins and now these cartoon versions that's all about the nastalgia. I liked both as a kid, and now both lines as an adult. Good video sir. I am late but yeah l am digging this new 80s line. But, I am glad this line is paying homeage to certain episode but mattel got this wrong in mhop. I believe the first episode diamond Ray of disappearance would have been an excellent homeage. The scene where skeletor shooting the ray at He man and he deflected it. Now that particular scene was iconic. What a way to pay homeage to the first episode of the filmation. The diamond Ray of disappearance would have another new weapon with skeletor. It would have worked for He man as well. I don't understand the masks of power, it would have worked Better with skeletor. I just don't see the logic of the masks ofpower with skeletor. I just fell the diamond Ray would have been better for either He man or Skeletor to pay homeage to the first episode.

I'm not sure why they went with the masks of power inspired episode to market those masks accessories with this Skeletor. They are cool, but the female Tyrella Head mask doesn't fit the female Origins ball pegs. Only the males. I remember the Dimond ray of disappearance. That definitely would have been better for Skeletor. But it is what it is with him now. Maybe they will add that Ray with another filmation figure to come or Skeletor variant down the road.👍
Wish he would have came with the actual sword you rarely got to see him use in the cartoon.
Bummed about man at arms being an amazing exclusive and missing it.
Yeah, they just gave him the reused He-man sword in purple. I think Man-At-Arms will be available on the BBTS toy store at some point. Thanks for checking out the review!
Great video once again. Always great content. I had doubts about the range, but will probably order the Skeletor and He Man now. Thanks for going into proper detail. It looks like a great figure. is the blue anything like the He-Skeletor figure? Also, With that mask he reminds looks like Dagoth Ur!
Thanks for watching as always! I'm glad you enjoyed content as well as the figure! I think Mattel did a nice job on the designs of these cartoon figures for the Origins line. They aren't perfect to cartoon. But close for what the Origins are trying to do. I just looked at He- Skeletor and thus Cartoon Skeletor together. The colors aren't even close. He Skeletor is a very glossy dark blue. This Skeletor is a light powered blue color in my light. No other Origins Skeletor really matches him too well.
Look forward to this but yeah I'll wait see if correct them selves beastman .needs new head he man's boots are wrong shouldn't have details and all colours wrong ..I need that skeletor throne you have
Thanks for checking the review out! I like the overall designs and looks for what this cartoon line is doing as far as the Origins goes. They aren't perfect to the cartoon. But they still look very reminiscent of that show. The colors are definitely off a bit. I'm not sure why Mattel went with those toned down colors. That bone throne came with the Super7 Classics Snake Mountain. That was a really cool design for that set.
They mess up with the Witch Queen Tyrella's head. Supposed to fit the female buck and not the male's. Just an observation. 🤔
That's what I showed and mentioned in the review. I'm assuming the new cartoon Teela or female figures coming in the cartoon line will have the same pegs as the males and can use that mask now. The regular female Origins pegs are too small.
@@Themanchlid that would mess up. It means you can't interchange heads with previous female characters from Origins line. 🤔
@geffeternal741 No, you cannot! So, I guess the plan using those Masks of power heads is specifically designed for the filmation Males or Females coming. They do work on the regular Origins males still because they have the same pegs as the cartoon figures.
Just realize something. He-Man and Beast Man came with the same comic while Skeletor and MAA came with their own. It's because they're from different waves, I'm guessing. He-Man and Beast Man comes with two reissues. Same with the other two. 🤔
Yeah, He-man and Beastman have the same comic so far. Skeletor has a different one as you saw in the review. But the series one cross cell shows him with the other figures like He-man and Beastman. I think they want to do something to add to the Masks of Power episode because of adding those Masked heads as accessories to Skeletor, maybe. And show something different with the comic. Another Amazing Review ! The one I was so eagerly waiting for. Thank you so much for trying Dragon Blaster armour, with indepth part swaps as usual. Can't wait for this & the deluxe version which Mattel Creations sold. BTW.. can you check if the Skeletor faceplates are glued or can removed from the hood section ? Since the creations exclusive has multiple expression faceplates, I would like to know if those are compatible with this.

My Skeletor face place is glued, or I can't get it off. I almost snapped it at the peg. I can see glue on mine. I'm not aware that they are all like that. I know that Mattel creations Skeletor has removable plates like you mentioned. I hope to find that head on eBay down the road with the open mouth face plate. I didn't review that Teela sorceress yet. But I will review her next!👍

Yeah, there are some features like the hood and eye sockets that could have been improved a bit. But I get what the Origins are going for with the cartoon series. I'm not a Ninja turtle collector. But I'm also in with those figures. Thanks for watching, and as always, friend👍

I dunno they look like they're wearing muscle suits. Still they have nostalgia feel.
The vintage figures always felt like they were wearing muscle suits to me as a kid. But I guess technically, figures like Man-At-Arms Meckaneck had color Muscle suits on. However, the paint on all the figures has a similar flat tone with the cartoon version. I still think they look good in hand. Thanks for watching 👍

Still catching up. I have to say, something about this Cartoon Skeletor looks a bit off to me, but I can’t put my finger on it. Because he looks pretty accurate…it might be the almost oval-like shape of his head. Other than that, he’s a great-looking figure. I honestly could do without the episode-specific accessories, though. The masks look decent enough, but I can’t imagine myself ever using them, even for display. They don’t really have a connection to each character other than a one-off appearance in whichever episode they arbitrarily chose to represent.
I do find it interesting that he and Man-At-Arms have a different mini-comic as well. They’re being promoted as part of the same wave according to the cross-sell, but they clearly are not. The distribution is so weird and scattered, it feels more like mini-waves now: 2 of the Cartoon Collection, and 2 Fan-Favorites. Not even sure which fan-favorites go with which wave, because so many of them are popping up in different places with no apparent rhyme or reason. I’ve pretty much given up trying to make a definitive chronological release list of figures. And now they’ve added Turtles of Grayskull into the mix (which is technically its own thing).
Thanks for always taking the time to check out all my MOTU reviews as you can! I think they did a good job overall with these cartoon inspired Origins figures. Or at least trying to translate that cartoon style of animation in an Origins figure form. It's not gonna be 100 percent accurate to that cartoon. That's were the Club greyskull figures come in. I think the head would be better with an open jaw. The Mattel creations cartoon Skeletor comes with one. I didn't pick that set up.
Those accessories or masks are interesting. But usless to me as well! I guess it helps market these cartoon figures using filmation episodes and adding a unique accessorie from the episode like the masks.
The distribution or order of any of the Origins hasn't made any sence since day one. I can go into a whole rant or explain my opinion on that. But I dosent matter at this point. It is what it is and we live in a different world today since the beginning of covid and how toy collecting and distribution has changed!
Yeah the Turtles line is really interesting. I already reviewed all of wave one aside Leonardo. He's coming in today and I will start my review. I honestly like the line and everything I reviewed so far!👍

@Themanchlid since before the masterverse began I've wanted a rendition of this look! Its like 10 years since i picked up one of the crappy 200x skeletors. Hopefully mattel will wake up and do a complete series, Hordak, palace guards,! A cash cow!❤️👍
@rickytoddbotelho9555 There's a lot of Masters of the Universe Masterverse and Origins coming. There is so much they can do. But it's what's priority and the cost to manufacture what figures will sell the best in large quantities. This is why they are going into the Filmation and Turtles cross over now. They are a very popular series and will probably sell well. The 200x is popular as well. But not so much the figures compared to the Classics. So they have to consider which ones to make that will sell well in the Origins or Masterverse lines.

The face looks like it's plugged in and possibly removable. Mine didn't seem to come out with pulling. I'm gonna have to mess around with it more.
All I'll be doing from now on is slowly finishing up the VC through MattelCreations. I have absolutely no interest in the Filmation cartoon. I was never a fan of the cartoon. I always wanted a more adult MOTU show aimed at teenagers because I was 10-13 when MOTU first hit. But Filmation gave us a baby show on the same level as Smurfs or Snorks.
Origins has been a frustrating nightmare to collect for the past 3 years. I'm looking forward to finally putting it behind me. I'm never collecting a full line ever again. After this I will only be cherry-picking random figures that I really like from different lines. I'm just worried about those 3 Walmart exclusive Snakemen coming soon. They're going to be as hard to get as Moss-Man & Duplico. And I want at least 4 Necro-Condas.

Mattel did say they will finish up the Origins vintage inspired characters next year through Mattel Creations. These filmation figures will be hit or miss for fans of the Origins lone just like the turtles coming. Only collect and support what you want.
@@Themanchlid I pre-ordered the cartoon Teela only because her face doesn't look cartoony. But if the final product is different I may cancel her. I'll be watching for your review of her. You'll get her way before the rest of us.
@sci-fi.tsunami I think the cartoon Teela looks better than the Origins Teela now. But we will have to see once once she comes out as you mentioned. I will try to find one earlier and review her, of course!
Actually they are quite a few of heman eps that had adult themes . Try watching problem with power or Teelas quest
The legs look weird on these Filmation sculpts.

@@voularagou5828 If you're asking if he has better articulation then the Super7 Club greyskull Skeletor? I would say the Super7 has more point of articulation and more. This Origins Cartoon Skeletor is designed like the other Origins figures aside from a newer body, legs and arms design. He has good articulation. But the Club greyskull figures have more.
