  • Filmed using the HD video function on a Canon EOS 7D with 600mm lens + teleconverter 1000 meters from the end of the runway. Rubbish sound and rather shaky due to the wind and unsuitable tripod....not to mention the video photographer!

Great vid. I always in awe of how these tin boxes get off the ground. That view of the first aircraft taking off, really shows how heavy they are.

It gives me the chills seeing that T7 line up. Great videography, could only wish for this much zoom.

This Boeing 747 is a Monster. I was really afraid when it was sliding and approaching so fast, and that also in a crooked way. It was not vertically on the runway, and it made left right left right 2 or 3 times before gliding on its vertical axis...
    747 is a beast.
The 777- Emirates was also nice.
    Nice take off.
Both SMOOTH and ROUGH landing for the 747.

@Aviationnation10 He said he was about 1km away from the end of the runway. Gatwick has two runways, 08L/26R 2,565m and 08R/26L 3,316m. So the distance to the start point was either 3.5km or 4.3km. [/know-it-all mode] ;-) Regards.

I wonder if people understand just how challenging it is to land and stay on that vertical centre line? Wobble, slide, etc. It's bloody challenging! A pilot who lands safely is indeed qualified for his post.

Just look at the wings of the EK 777 when it released it take off thrusts... They are sooo flexible that they appear on the breaking point.

When the 747 lands, how does the pilot make the plane come in crooked? I mean, the ass end is definately off centerline. My dog run like that! It's like his ass end is controlled by a different brain and they can't get it together. Does the pilot mean to do that?
