Thank you so much for posting these videos. I am new to watercolor and you are making my journey fabulous. I am a wildlife biologist/educator so your tutorials are right up my alley. Thank you thank you thank you!
I am so happy that I found your channel today! I can see by your amazing talent that your number of subscribers are going to really sky rocket in coming months! Thank you very much for sharing this video!👍👍👍
I follow you on Instagram and just barely discovered that you have a RUclips Channel! I love watching your process and your videos are incredibly relaxing.
I wanted to see how you would paint a raven-and it popped up in my YT feed! How did you do that? 😂 The eyes and beak are exquisite. I absolutely love both the combination of your abstraction on the body and the addition of limited details on the raven’s wing. My eyes filled in the rest of the feathers easily. Thank you again for sharing when you change your brushes and material as you use them. It helps me understand how you are accomplishing what you are doing in the moment. My favorite watercolor painting of a Raven! Thank you. 👏❤️
Hi. I have been following your tutorials and playing around some with the style. Do you have a photo reference that you are painting to when creating these?
I sketch out my pieces beforehand. I have a few videos where I show the drawing process. I think my cardinal video, nuthatch video and maybe my goldfinch.
I did not want to add that much extra texture. This is a video on how I paint but everyone has different preferences and should do what they think is best for the results they want.
@@LisaLisa-fq4th its all good! I think its good feedback for those who might want more of that textured look that comes from salt. I love that look too, I just wasn't so sure on such a dark colored bird. But I could try it out :)
Because my paintings go from detailed in the face to abstract. I leave out details throughout the entire body, my paintings are impressionistic and not meant to be realistic.
I am not sure which brand as this is an older painting and I have 3 different brands of paynes grey...daniel smith, winsor & newton and van gogh. Sometimes the lighting in my videos effect how the color looks as well.

It's so beautiful 😍 I love this approach : details and loose. Laura from France

Love this! Thank you 💓
very nice painting ^_^
I love ravens. As a matter of fact, I have a raven tattoo on my back.
Thats cool! I am waiting to get my first bird tattoo :)
Hi. I have been following your tutorials and playing around some with the style. Do you have a photo reference that you are painting to when creating these?
Yes I use reference photos. This video is nearly 2 years old now so I don't remember what I used though. I usually get them from pixabay.com
Wonderful video. Awesome work. Are you working from a photo? thank You
Thanks for sharing its great. Which watercolour brand you are using in this artwork?
I currently use Daniel Smith but I might have been using van gogh for this painting since its an older video of mine. Sorry I don't remember!
@@paintedwing thx it is a great artwork anyway
So beautiful. Do you draw freehand or trace some of the details such as eyes and beak?
I sketch out my pieces beforehand. I have a few videos where I show the drawing process. I think my cardinal video, nuthatch video and maybe my goldfinch.
Just double checked, the nuthatch video is where I show my sketching process the best
@@paintedwing Thank you. I’ll go watch it now 👍🏻
Great work! I think the salt would have been more effective if the paint was damp, not wet. Just a thought! Thanks for sharing your art.
I did not want to add that much extra texture. This is a video on how I paint but everyone has different preferences and should do what they think is best for the results they want.
@@paintedwing your absolutely right! I meant no disrespect. You’re art is wonderful!

Gorgeous! Just discovered your channel. I have 100s of bird photos I would like to paint. Is there a reason why you don’t paint legs and feet?
Because my paintings go from detailed in the face to abstract. I leave out details throughout the entire body, my paintings are impressionistic and not meant to be realistic.
May I ask what brand of paint these are? My Paynes Gray is much bluer, and I like your paint choices
I am not sure which brand as this is an older painting and I have 3 different brands of paynes grey...daniel smith, winsor & newton and van gogh. Sometimes the lighting in my videos effect how the color looks as well.
Do you have an outline for the raven?
I think so. I would have to double check
Hello could you write the colors you use? Thanks

I can never get the salt to do anything…. 😩
Might have something to do with how wet your paint is when you add it, if it is too wet it wont leave texture as easily.
@@paintedwing thank you, I will try not use it on too wet paint. Thank you for your reply! 😊
