Such familiar places! I immediately remembered how we walked there with my Kate recently 😊 You got a very beautiful video! Thanks Henry! 😊 Hope we meet someday 😊 -Sergey
Unbelievable how nice that city is! Amazing architecture and really clean streets. Just from the entrance and lobby, that's gotta be the nicest hostel I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing your walk Henry! Cheers from Canada -Kris
On close inspection, some of the buildings need some work but it's so exciting and energizing to walk through the streets and by the canals. If you ever get the chance to go, I'd suggest taking it. Thanks for the comment. -Henry
The city looks absolutely beautiful. You can take a break from commercial establishments like fastfood chains, coffee shops, and busy signs and billboards in this city.
That would be great. We actually spent a month in Florence before I started filming and I regret all the great walks I could have filmed. Oh well, next time. - H
I had a lot of assumptions about this city and country that were erased by my visit. Very modern and thriving city with lots of vitality. -Thanks for the comment. -Henry
Privet! Great to see St. Petersburg, probably the prettiest city in Russia. The summer makes it look welcoming. Interesting that the streets are rather quiet.
I leave my car here at 5:45 every single day and go to the Mariinsky Theater at 8:48 (two large buildings on either side of the canal with a glass bridge). I've been playing in the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra for 10 years!)
St. Petersburg is the most beautiful city in the world! But be sure to come to Moscow! This is one of the most beautiful and modern ancient cities in the world!
OMG! amazing place that looks soo peaceful and no traffic! can't help not to comment while watching at the same time... i'm enjoying this video, captured the serenity... I wish to visit this place too. thanks for this 😍😍😍
You are most welcome, but to be fair, there's little traffic because it's early weekend morning. Though, the traffic was never that bad while we were there. Thanks for watching - H
@@CityWalks yeah, i meant that bit of traffic is tolerable at least 🙂 .. keep on making more videos like this, I'm enjoying so far all that I watched from yours (just recently subscribed btw) ... feels like I'm walking along in real! 😉 good job!
Thank you for the walks through St. Petersburg. I enjoyed them. I have been trying to go back and comment on the walks I have taken, but I realize I have even more to enjoy. I really thank you for the trips. Oddly enough, St. Petersburg seemed more like an American city. The EU countries are kind of the same with the rent-a-bikes, the scooters, the electric cars, electric trains, the outdoor sidewalk cafes which I guess are used at night, the people wearing black jeans/leggings, etc. I just thank you so much.
I really loved St Petersburgh. It kind of blew my mind. I actually filmed another walk but somehow deleted the footage. Thanks for all your comments and support. -Henry
Places to go: 1. Nevsky Prospect. 2. Kazan Cathedral. 3. Peter and Paul fort. 5. St Isaac's Cathedral.. 6. Winter Palace. 7. Church of Savior on Spilled Blood. 8. Peterhof. 9. Catherine's summer palace. 10. Stroganov Palace.
Crushed that I filmed a walk along Nevsky prospect, Savior of the Spilled Blood, to the Winter palace but somehow deleted the footage. :-( Great suggestions though. Thanks so much. -Henry
you never went near the city centre nevsky prospect you went down all the quiet streets it is really busy in the city i was so surprised how little foot fall there was on your walk it is normally busy in most places in spb i have to say its my favourite city in the whole world (i hope you did another video of you walking in the city centre)
Yeah, I actually had another walk off of Nevsky Prospect that I somehow accidentally deleted. Broke my heart. SPB is an amazing place and I can't wait to get back to Russia. -H
I hate how American politics demonize Russians. Nothing could be further from the truth. Russia is a historic and beautiful country. Did I mention that Russians are the most likable people I have ever met? Absolutely love this country and its people.
I would love to visit ST Petersburg. The architecure and colors are beautiful! I am surprised more people don't stop to talk to you. Do you ever feel uncomfortable or have concern for safety? Some buildings as if painted, others with a tinted stucco? Do you have to get permission in certain countries to use/make videos?
I've had a few people wave for the camera but I try not to point the camera directly at people or film around schools or playgrounds. I haven't really worried about permission for filming. -H
Yeah, it was near to the hotel and easy. Also, it was all so new to me and loved all of it even not knowing any better. Thanks for the info though. cheers - Henry
Relying on google to translate but I'd agree with you on all of that but it still blew my mind! I really enjoyed the city and would go back to spend more time if I could. Thanks for watching and commenting. -H
@@CityWalks hi:). Yes i agree with you that it can blow your mind and i would recomend to all visit Russia, because it is something new and interesting. I am from Moscow(i believe a very good city for tourists) and have visited some cities in Russia and can say it is not so interesting because cities have common architecture and for me because i am from Russia is more interesting to go abroad:).

Taking into consideration that the city was almost destroyed by the nazi during the WW2, it now looks great and restored.
Good point. I was stunned by the beauty of the city. And it's immensity. Thanks. -Henry
