Well, getting older does hit you later in life. I'm 68. The last time I saw my lost love of my life, it made me realize that if we hadn't been restless or reckless, things would have turned out different. Sadly, he passed away 6 months after I last saw him. That was 10 years ago. I cried the first time I heard this song. Decisions made in your youth really do effect the rest of your life.
Notice how,at the end of the song she sings “she’s mad of getting older because it makes us reckless ( not restless). I am a 70’s teenager and “restless” was a way of life. My first love found me many years later. Problem. Married. “ Moved overseas” My friends knew that he and I ( before he was married) couldn’t be in the same room. Too many sparks flying. This song says it all for me.
