As an 80s baby, born in Oakland...many of us were deeply impacted by the crack cocaine epidemic. Destroyed a lot of families. It's sad how this era is glamorized. The trauma runs deep.

Completely agree. You may enjoy Billy Corban's new podcast with Michael Corleone Blanco (rakontur on youtube) .. I watched this film, mesmerized by the contradiction of the G narrating his chronicles..against the typical portrayal of other guys with similar dialogue. This man is a natural storyteller with an impressive vocabulary and bilateral intellect that captures, masterfully, the darkness of the hood where blood calls out to blood, and the illumination of the very painfully expensive prosperity of the other side..the lighter side where few of us are invited or permitted
. My G could've been just about anything in this world he aspired to be..most definitely a highly successful writer and scriptist ..cuz it took a superior level of mother wit and extreme IQ muscle to roll with the more real than life characters like the ones he walked and slept with..and still.. survive and out finesse all of them and they were ..and still are..(both dead and alive).. International legends.
As an English major..writer..and a multi-level thinker myself..I 👏 your transparency and extremely engaging and realistic storytelling skills.. P.S..I was scared with you by the end of your chronicle😄..and was so glad you stayed on the topside of the dirt! 🍾 🥂 🎉

On some real s**t, yall brothers put some good questions to our brother. Great journalism.
I saw this brother's account on RUclips about 7 years ago and like you, I was amazed at the man's character to step out and roll the dice on doing business with someone of the caliber of Griselda Blanco; then on top of that to be in a quasi-relationship with her when she was locked up. Not to glorify the drug world, but the fiber that makes up his character is something to study. This man can literally be the CEO of any Fortune 500 company. Great journalism my brothers.

51:36 he indirectly snitched and sabotaged Griselda plans on that phone call to her in jail, but I feel him I wouldn’t want no parts of that either🤷🏽‍♂️ … plus I find it to be a BIG coincidence that the secretary was messing around with the Charles and rivi the only 2 witnesses in that death penalty case 🤔 🚩….me just putting 2 and 2 together Griselda payed off the prosecution secretary to have sexual affair with rivi and Charles to botch the case with a conflict of interest. Making the witness statements from rivi and Charles non credible
