Hey Todd, I think that James Jameson used a 59 P Bass on the Original Recordings of Heard it through the Grapevine, you did a Good job. A lot of people feel that the Song was written for the Temptations, ( who believe it or not, were struggling for a Hit ), but it was written and first recorded by Marvin Gaye. Anyways love it when the two of you Host, it's a lot of fun watching you guys collaborate...ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW GREAT JEN is making you Look......Byeeee 🎸💚
i have a 66 p bass i want the first 59 you guys showed damn i wish i could get it,really nice the flats sound so good it just melts me away there is nothing like an early p bass with flats thanks you guys lol now im bummed i want any one of the three!!!
I just watched 5 Watt World's P Bass special - and have a newfound interest in the instrument! It was the first doublecut! Before the Strat, father of the Strat....or great uncle, I guess... That maple is so clean white! It's beautiful..No "vintage yellow", thank god!
So a thought occurred to me during Todd's plug for flat wound strings, Was that what they originally shipped with? Did roundwound bass strings exist back in the day. Oh and of course great playing as usual.
Jim Bonacum - you couldn’t reliably get roundwounds for bass until John Entwistle (The Who) started working with a string maker in the UK in 1966, to design ones that worked better for him (thicker cores). Once he was happy with the results, he endorsed them and they could market them worldwide as Rotosound strings.
@@stereoroid That makes sense. I remember when Roto sounds first came out but since I wasn't a bass player I guess I just assumed that round wound strings always existed and that it was just a new brand. I recall hearing talk at the time that Rotosounds would chew up your frets. But this raises another question. What came first for electric guitars flat wound or round wound?
Would someone kindly educate me on bass strings? Is Todd saying flat round strings? I recently bought my first bass guitar and want to put the best playable strings on it for an adult beginner bass player. I bought a Stingray ray34 new for a lefty. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
As always a stellar and phenomenal performance from the boys, Jen!!! I had never really considered that there was room for a third kick ass rendition of the venerable Kinks tune "You Really Got Me" it appears not only was I wrong, but I now have a new ringtone, where should I send the royalty change?

The lawyer that called was actually Mark Agnesi reminding Lemmo to play authentic
😂😂😂😂😂 LOL!!!!!
Welcome back Todd. I think the Michael and Todd show should become the standard at Guitar of the Day. Anybody agree?
Nope.

I love the "clown burst " ! Rock on Lemmo, Todd ,and Jen ! I was born in '59 if you want to give me a present in October ! ;-)
Great arrangement and jam, enjoy listening to you two.
Epic is right. Took me years to play with a bass player.
This P Bass takes the cake !.
Dude, Todd seems like he would be such a cool uncle, I'd totally chill with him
Awesome playing Todd and ML!
now the Thumpin' Thursday are actually fun!
Yep..agreed🤘😎🤘
Todd I know what you mean about flatwounds! I have Thomastik flats on 2 of my P-basses
You guys totally left out one of the baddest bass players of all time played a fender p bass just like that one his name was DONALD DUCK DUNN
... with the pipe smoking.
No shit.
Smooth groove 👌🎸
Wonder what bass Todd's wife bought? Must be for the Vivian Girls reunion tour. Pumped for the new album
Imma say it on every video now. Please start a bandcamp!!

Song 2: What I Like About You - The Romantics
Song 3: You Really Got Me - The Kinks
1. Heard it through the grapevine. Or at least some rendition of it
What model Ibanez is that? Beauty.
Since everything is on reverb, could you please include a link to the guitar in the video description?
Best Episode ever
Rocket in my Pocket is a really great song by Little Feat. Just a little factoid

half rounds(compramise between rounds) flats been using them for last 40 years.
@@francesnieznay6623 Thank you! More difficult for a beginner like myself? Thanks again.
Just a comment about the Reverb... everything is priced high, but there is piece of mind knowing your purchase is authentic.
They look like budget Rhett and Link
"Edibles at Night" - fun name, fun band.
anyone else not seeing the guitars on reverb?
I dig the Ibanez, but I don't think it's a lawsuit era guitar.
I’d love to see a explorer bass!
Lawsuit Ibanez, would be interesting to compare it to a Gibson from the same year...
Less authentic.
gotta love it when you get your edibles at night
How much did lemmo smoke be4 this video he in the clouds
where do u think the Edibles at Night name comes from? they be blazing up, Norms the supplier probably
Edibles..... at night. Hmmmm😂
@Rage Theatre2020 Yeah, the kooks call it Kush, Loud, or Dank but its just pot lmfao
Obviously not enough.
@Rage Theatre2020 It sure sounds good 😈
The prodigal sons return! Love the band and love the playing, even the basses! However! Gotta do a Maton!
You need to give up on that. It's getting real monotonous.

Have never met any of you'all but I'm pretty sure if Norman doesn't like someone they're gone like the 59 P Bass, Jeff in LA USA
Has anyone seen Mrs. Smith’s Pie?
Not sure Michael was throwing his all into this one. Great bass playing tho.

No.

What I could do with that...
Finally Marvin, the first time ever, and it is totally muffed. *&(*(&%#@$#!!#@ You need a week of Motown just for a little respect.
Beautiful Bass, sloppy playing
Plucking the bass so far up the neck gives you uneven amounts of harmonics across the motif. Amateur technique.
Guitar sounds great as usual.
