I found decathlon right before the us put up all it's trade tariffs, and I picked it up on sale, so I got my first down jacket suuuuper cheap, but it's a little snug. I went to get another one the next size up just a few weeks later, and it's more than double what I paid for the first one!!!

I went way too long before finding out about Decathlon. I use the Forclaz Trek 100 50L pack and enjoy the SmartFit (adjustable torso) system they use. It has a solid framing system and is a top notch pack for less than $100.

I have been using Decathlon for a few years now. All items have held up great and are light and cheap. Great brand. The Quechua MH500 grid fleece is a superb budget UL hiking shirt. I think thatnthey just updated the design and made it cheaper.

This channel is excellent! Definitely picking up a Decathlon down jacket because of your reviews. I went on the site and even one of the jacket reviews mentioned they had purchased it because of your channel. I think you need a Decathlon sponsorship at this point haha. Happy Trails and thanks for all of your help!

Because of your reviews I got a Forclaz Trek MT100 down jacket - and couldn’t be happier. I love how lightweight it is while still being awesome and warm. Great as an outer layer when it’s just a bit chilly, then a second layer when it’s really cold.
Awesome reviews dude - keep them coming!

Recently, here in the UK, I have been buying Montane clothing - I live in England's northernmost county where Montane is also based. Sadly, I couldn't get a Montane down jacket in my size. (unless I bought a men's version) because Montane make a limited number of garments in my size. I have previously owned a Decathlon Forclaz MT100 down jacket which was excellent but is now too big for me. Disappointed that I could buy the Montane jacket, I bought an MT100 in my size and it really is perfect for my needs. Price £59.99. If the Montane down jacket been available, it costs £250 - I could have had a discount of up to 25% using my Montane Rewards Points but even so, the Montane jacket would still have been 3x the price of the MT100. I also own some Decathlon Merino items which are also excellent.

I used the Forclaz Trek 700 Short Trekking Air Mattress (360g) on my 271 KM hike of the Great North Walk in Australia recently and it worked great. Wide where it needs to be wide, very good valves that inflate/deflate quickly. Quiet and it doesn't move around much. Small pack size. It's not insulated though....😉

I have a pair of some of their insulated hiking pants as well as none insulated, and aside from the sizing being VERY SMALL I have had zero issues. With that the pants are snug fitting but have some stretch in them which allows for free movement. I purchased them on sale for about $40 US and I think they are steal! Just watch the sizing when you order!

I love Decathlon and I have a lot of very good things that last already for years. Here my top picks: The backpacks are super good, there is a yellow air mattress that is good for summer camping. The trekking poles are also good. The cheapest one is like 5€ per Stick and made of blue aluminum. Very durable! I also enjoy a lot of gear you already mentioned so I don’t have to repeat that. Happy they are now available for you too.

MH500 3Layerd hardschell Gore-Tex Jacket. Using it every day when I’m walking to work.372g of weight, water proof af and with a price tag of 79€ in Germany makes it an interesting alternative to a Arcteryx Beta LT for 400€.
Also check out the Merino stuff. Especially that climbing hoody for 59€

Nice choices man! I want to tey those photochromic sunglasses. Thats a cool feature they have. I find if you wear normal polorized sunglasses too long they can actually cause headaches and bother your eyes after a while and in the dark forest they stay as dark as they come. Very cool new tech. Simple but effective. Stay safe man! Hike on!

Thanks for this really helpful review.👍
Have just found your channel and ‘Subscribed’.
Although a long term Decathlon convert, didn’t know they did toe socks - will check them out, as Injinji are expensive over here in the UK.
I already have Decathlons Trek 100 down jacket, which I also recommend for the price. But I also bought their even cheaper ‘Forclaz Trek 100’ synthetic jacket - which has been great for hiking over here in the (often wet) climate.
Their ‘Forclaz Trek 500 Merino Hat’ - is a light, warm and great value beanie.
Their smallest ‘Nabaiji towel’ cost just £3, weighs almost nothing, and goes with me on every hike. Also keep a larger one in my car for drying off afterwards...

@@1LeggedAdventures Its a good fit for me, but I am not a slim through hiker.🤣
The 3XL is good for my 49” chest, with room for extra layers if it gets really chilly. But the jacket is plenty warm for me over a long sleeve base layer most of the time.
At £30 I plan to get another one when this one starts to get tatty - and keep the old one in my car boot/trunk for emergencies...

The funny thing is, if you search for lighter stuff, especially clothing, the best ones are the cheapest most of the time XD of course, not all. I really like decathlon too, but I have found that clothing is the best from them (except socks, they don't have too many good socks). But they don't really have nice ultralight stuff in backpacks, sleeping gear (except for the foam mats), or tents. So ... most of the time, search for clothing :) of course, anything else can be of interest for day hiking

My 2 cents - most of their items run quite small. I have a mens XL sweater and my GF (who is a womens M) wears it. Also, their stuff is hit or miss in regards to wear (& this is washing on delicate and air drying) this is especially true w/their synthetics. Just a heads up, most of the time, you get what you pay for...or not.

One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of the Helinox knockoffs that use the horizontal hub system are infringing on patents. The Decathlon chair is original enough that it doesn't infringe on the patent and looks okay for the price.
