Russ’s breakdown during a midge hatch after putting a 3 fly rig in the trees is something I hold near and dear.

Hello Mr. Craven! I am new to fly tying and fishing. I'm a 61 year old disabled dude with spina bifida who uses a wheelchair. I just got a new wheelchair perfect for covering sand and dirt and I can't wait to get it out to fish in it. Only thing is that I enjoy the challenge of using spinning gear. Do you know anyone who fishes flies Luke that? Do you have any advice for a newbee fly tyer fly fisher?

A fly with a partially water filled, but floating, clear bubble for casting weight is a common technique with a spinning rod. Works for dry flies and nymphs. For fly tying, get the best set of tools you can afford, like those from Umpqua or Dr. Slick. Pick a fly from one of Charlie's videos, see his list of materials in the description and learn to tie one fly at a time from his videos. Charlie may be the best tying teacher in the business right now, so you can't go wrong. His book is phenomenal, as well. Of course, you can get all this stuff from his shop.

Charlie ,what's your thoughts on CDC loopwing with a trailing shuck. I've done very well with that stuck in the shuck patterns.

Euro nymphing is key and king if you want to catch more trout than the guys and gals nymphing under a dry or indicator. It’s just so much more productive than any other method for 75% of time for trout eating nymphs. It’s just the way it is. I do not apologize for it even though I fish whatever the trout want , no matter the style of fishing it might take. Thanks, great content!!!!!
