Continued heavy rains led to widespread flooding in the southern states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg over the weekend. The floods caused serious disruptions to transport services. Long-distance train routes to Munich were suspended on Monday. The situation remains critical and tense, with water receding in some places and further flooding and evacuations in others. Water levels are expected to rise in the city of Regensburg and further along the Danube.

Evacuations are essential, but why wasn't there better infrastructure to prevent this level of flooding?

Atualmente as pessoas constroem praticamente dentro dos rios e nas praias quase dentro do mar. Então quando tem enchentes as residências vão inundar mesmo. Qdo eu era criança lembro de grandes enchentes mas não atingia as residências pois as mesmas eram construídas com certa distância dos rios e tbm do mar.
No Rio Grande do Sul o Estado inteiro foi inundado
