I consider myself to be a pretty big Harry Nilsson fan but never gave pussycats much attention because I would always compare it to his earlier works. I think I may go back and listen with this new context! Great video!
Jimmy Webb (he was good friends with Harry Nilsson) talks about the Smothers Brothers incident a little more in depth at 3:02 on Gilbert Gottfried’s podcast. Good vid, found some good pics
It's a shame you didn't mention May Pang. She was an important figure and her book "Loving John" is a treasure trove of knowledge about the "lost weekend".
It was a very good break from Yoyo for John. At least he got to smile again with friends who really enjoyed his company. And, Yoyo equally, got her Funtime from John.
This is one of my favorite era of the rock eras finest indulging in the bulk of drugs sex and rock history. Brian Wilson when he was high enough to get outside of his head and go out and hang, but there’s a great pic of a clearly debauched Brian Wilson Harry Nilsson Van Dyke Parks Danny Hutton and Keith and others. Legendary days , thanks for this vid doc of a wild and storied era of mid 70s Look on the Pussycats LP, on the cover there’s a rug and before it is a wooden letter D and after the rug is a S, put it together it adds up the aesthetic of the day lol
The 1960s and 70s for rock, the 1920s, 30s, and 40s for jazz, the 1990s and 2000s for hip-hop/rap. These "golden ages" were peak degeneracy. Lest we be carried way by the miraculous masterpieces, the aftermath has far reaching consequences on the industry.

The 18 month "Lost Weekend" produced some of Lennon's best solo albums and songs including the transcendental "#9 Dream".

She wasn’t a vampire tho

Advocating for social causes, a code word for: wasting my precious time trying to change the world when I could be writing great songs!
The Hollywood vampires drinking club , I just realized that Alice Cooper and Micky Dolenz are the only ones still in the club that’s living now. ☔️
