Floor the wonderwoman added her vocals to the album in just 6 days , and that days after giving biirth to Lucy . Still in some pain.... Greetings from NWA Sweden
The "Lords of a single fly" is referring to the book "Lord of the Flies" (check how Tuomas is playing with the words), about stranded boys on an island with a bad ending. The counterpart on this album is "The Children Of Ata" where teenage boys fromTonga also shipwrecked on an island for 15 month in 1965, but with a good ending.
I think the part: "Friends that were for a time, now grapes of sour wines, lords of a single fly" is about Tarja, and maybe Anette? "You who glow in deepest woe, let it be, retiree, the water's fine, sail carefree," I believe is about Marco.
@@Cherlindrea99 "Here, raining Ash to cover the dead, an island of the past wrecks, of you" - i think that would be about Tarja, or it's Tuomas calling himself a wreck in the aftermath of Tarja drama
Great reaction for the fantastic song! You never know where the Nightwish's stories guide you to. At first glance it looks like a stormy, piratical song, but the lyrics are much more meaningful and layered than they seem. They give you a clue in the first verse: "A few decades of immortality ahead. A one-man crew for a one-way trip". What is this if not the story of a person's life? With this in mind the whole song will play with new colors. I think you will love The Children of ’Ata of the same album. Knowing the story behind it brings a lot of new sense to the song.
Love this musical journey ❤❤❤ After Lanterlight, for me the best track on the new album! Great concert opener or closer 😁 Would be awesome live with a full orchestra and choir❣️
Man, i just discover you right now and how can i say it as deeply as i can, no as i felt it while enjoying you (i am french so sry form my english), you give this song the reaction/review she deserves. New sub ! (i pressed all the button in my screen just not to miss the like button :D.
I remember hearing somewhere that Tuomas called "The Greatest Show on Earth" his magnum opus, but I'm not convinced that he's peaked yet. Nightwish keeps getting better.
Good idea to start with the Nightwish Yesterwynde official full album! Next: the video clip of this song! Tuomas dedicated a few lines to Marco Hietala who left the band as you know: You who glow In deepest woe Let it be, retiree, The water's fine Sail carefree
It wouldn't be Tuomas if he didn't use poetic language and you have to google at least 2 words every song. lol. I sometimes wonder if his lyrics will be read 200 years from now by poetry fans. Or will they only talk about artists like The Beatles and Queen. It's a funny thing to think about, what people will talk about centuries from now when they talk about culture and art from our time.
I am a long term Nightwish fan "Ocean" is my number one song of their whole repertoire. Just a magnificent piece of music and story telling.
I concur

Find your port you can call home my friend.
When you do the final song, Lanternlight, make sure you do the music video, its quite something 🤘
If you actually want some Pirate Metal, have a go at the fun song "Drink!" (official video) by the band Alestorm.
