When he arrived on EastEnders, Rudy Walker did not just break down all the racial barriers. No, no, no... He shattered all of those barriers into millions of pieces.
It is well known fact that Rudy is heavily involved in writing Patrick's dialogues and has complete creative freedom over Patrick's numerous solo scenes. Alot of Patrick's history before arriving on Albert Square, are actually based on Rudy's own family and personal history on Trinidad.
So did Darnell Williams. If Billy Dee Williams opened the door at a crack as Dr. Jim Frazier on Guiding Light Darnell Williams who is British Born tore the door down as Jesse Hubbard on All My Children, and because of him, we have African American Actors on various Soaps who won Daytime Emmys.

Yeah, he's always been awesome. Though he was more iconic when he had the moustache. He just looks tired without it these days. At least he still has the hat though.

Why is patrick arrested at the end? Eventually he did nothing wrong.
They didn't want to arrest him. They only wanted him to move the car because Paul said he switched the car with charlie (which was on a double yellow line.). He assumed he was getting arrested (like anyone else based on how it sounded), and flipped, and maybe arrested for that? He never got cuffed or cautioned though, so idk.
