Honestly, the vette is your baby. It feels like a massive reason you fell in love with the platform of the c7s is how you can make them as fast as you have while still maintaining the daily drivability. I think keeping the vette where it is and like you said build the lambo or find something else that gives you that crazy mph would be the best way to go. Loved the video man can’t wait to see what comes next

@@gsjourney3054 hardly anyone ditches the blower. Even his gt500 still has the stock blower. Ours did as well. Almost every person I know who mods their gt500 keeps the stock blower

Hey Mike, you should consider on taking the Zr1 to the Texas Mile. I believe that would be one of if not The best place to really stretch the legs on the Zr1, it would be GREAT content!!!

I say the same dont change the ZR1 pro charging or turbos would absolutely change the charcter of the car. I say pick up another C7 maybe even a stingray and as someone else said gut it and build.. do a Procharger on it. I love the C7 platform too wouldnt ever let mine go...

The C7 ZR1 and the C6 ZR1 have got to be the two best Corvettes of all time. Heck I would say Mike's ZR1 is probably one of the greatest ever cars to ever exist.

I’d keep it as. One of the best things about our ZR1s is how they can be so comfortable/practical and then unleash a complete animal on command! Don’t lose that.👍🏼

Although a wing aids rear tire grip at speed, the resulting downforce comes at the cost of drag. In aviation this is referred to as 'lift induced drag". Or, as with the ZR1: downforce induced drag.
Therefore, if you want to go as fast as possible, in a straight line, you would benefit by using a spoiler*. For example those you’ve seen on countless C6 and C7 Vettes. They’re very low profile and have a slight upward angle, approximately 1/4” high, at the trailing (rear) edge.
Again, a spoiler is a device designed to help prevent airflow off the rear of the vehicle from acting like a turbulent waterfall, thus resulting in drag and a (small) reduction in top speed.
Note: Some rear “wings” as they’re often called are in fact not wings at all. However, the ‘high wing’ on the C7 ZR1 is in fact a wing since it has a definite airfoil shape. Meaning the underside is curved being thicker at the front (leading edge) and tapers at the rear (trailing edge).
The “low wing” option, although it’s also often referred to as a “wing” is not in fact a wing at all. Instead, it’s a ‘spoiler’, although an expensive one. Again, a spoilers function is to prevent and/or reduce drag. Hence they do not generate downforce like a wing, although some are often incorrectly referred to as such.

I've been a huge fan since the hellcat and gotta say the ZR1 is a beast! I'm fortunate to live near Mike and had seen it out in the wild and let me tell you just the exhaust note is freaking impressive! Props to you Mike and LMR as well. BADASS 🔥💪💯🇺🇲

I’m a fan but this is crazy, you have many followers that understand how roll racing works, there is a maximum start speed for a reason and ideally it’s 65.99mph. You started at 107.88 mph to achieve 180 that’s just comical go back to being real it just works better.

I don't do the bracket racing dippy, I go there to race people and have fun. When I race people I let them set the pace (inside lane sets pace) and I go when they go. Like you saw me do racing the orange ZR1. When I was shooting for 180 I was just trying to achieve that MPH as I stated. I can start at whatever speed I want.
@@ssoffshore5111 I can start at whatever speed I want I wasn't doing bracket racing. Also, start speed barely affects top end, but I was shooting for 180 so I had to start high. I started at 67mph with the orange ZR1 and ran 173. I started at 100 to run 180, but the mph difference was only 7-

What I like about your approach is you study the characteristics of the C7 ZR-1 and figure out the science of RPM / torque / mods etc. , and give the car it's best runs.
As opposed to some guys that just go out and stand on the throttle.

The ZR1 is definitely the staple of the channel. If we're chasing a mph I'd like to see the lambo TT or even crazier stuff with the gt500. The ZR1 had his run, and is still your badass daily driver. Don't change it.

what ever direction you choose with the zr1 I hope you keep it. Every time you do a big build you keep it for 2 weeks then decide you don't like it and sell it. like the viper, grandpa vette, turbo c8.
Great job on 180! Twin turbo V10 is the best platform right now so I would either buy a huracan or R8. SVJ would be really cool but that is so much money and not many people have done it. I could see running into quite a few issues with that. Wish you would’ve kept the viper. Calvo and Nth moto are just absolutely killing it with big HP monsters that are reliable. Seems like R8 and lambo platforms aren’t as reliable (a lot of drive train issues). Turbo Richie Rich has videos of his viper on RUclips running around 2.6 60-130 on street. Pretty insane stuff.
Regarding the title, I thought the ZR1 was going to blow up! Luckily it didn't and I'm glad you hit your goal of 180mph. Keep up the good content

Even with turbos getting the tune dialed to be as fast as the current setup could be a huge obstacle. I really think doing a LMR built Z06 C8 will be a good move if the car was obtainable. I can see why it's a tough decision.

Here's what you do Mike! 💭
You retire the ZR1 from any other power upgrades. It's a staple, and your heart. Keep it that way. Everyone will ask to see it, you'll daily it anyways... do some runs here and there. But then 🤘... You get another ZR1 and do a TT build, but this exact style build...just before having to change everything. Then you have them face eachother! After that, you'll be ready to go all out with the TT...but now you can keep the OG ZR1 sustainable, and have your all out build too 😉.
Eventually, you'll have a C8Z and you can begin modifying that to eventually go against the loser of the ZR1's, and eventually against whichever ZR1 is 👑. Boom your next two years laid out 😆, but seriously 🤨 do it. 👊
if you did go with the twinturbo kit for the svj, I think that there are 2 companies that come to mind. first is gintani which DDE has the straightpipe on their svj from that company. the guy has just finished developing the kit. next is Underground Racing, their svj twin turbo kit is NUTS and DDE has tested out that same kit in that clip that you had in the video!

I think you should keep the ZR1 how it is, wouldn't wanna fall out of love with it. And it might be taking a step back, but what do you think about a built for Pocino, but start with something cheaper, older and slower, like a C4, S197, or a truck? Not chasing as high of numbers, but a big jump from stock and a cool fun build series?

For boost, i give the zr1 two options. A. A big blower from whipple/magnuson/KB/ETC. Or B. A compound turbo set up,
