Only thing I can think that might be weirder than eels are caecilians: strange worms that are actually amphibians that have terrifying fangs and are both venomous and poisonous (venom was discovered just last year) and their babies eat their mothers flesh. If I remember the lecture on them correctly, some are up to five feet long. Oh yeah and they have tentacles on their faces.

Monarch butterflies. The butterflies go on a migration between the US and like Peru maybe. The crazy part is when they go in one direction they take three generations but going the other way the butterfly is born stronger and takes the whole trip on its own. These butterflies havnt flown that path in four generations, but they go to the exact same Grove of trees every time. Somehow their instinct not their living memory is able navigate them across thousands(?) of miles to a specific location. That's the craziest migration. I also probably butchered the facts about it, but I remember it being crazy. Not to mention that they ate basically living tissue paper and their bodies are somehow able to do that. Insane little animals. I'd go with them, then the salmon compass and then the eyes of a mantis shrimp because I don't need another one and I might as well experience this in a much cooler way.

Same. I hunt Elk and Deer every year. I fish. Sometimes I'll even put in for a lottery tag for Bighorn or Mountain Goat because a lot of people seem to forget we are a part of the ecosystem, we're omnivores, and when predators have been extripated from huge parts of the country it falls to us to balance out the ecosystem. It literally is conservation. I don't give a shit about trophies, if I take a bull or buck I generally try not to take the biggest and I'll even take older does and cows if legal. I'm not out there to fill a room with English Mounts, I want my country and the world to have balance. The meat is good for you, you can use the pelt. There is a lot you can. We have to be the Yellowstone wolves for the rest of the country. But if you told me to go hunt poachers, I'd drop everything to go. I don't want to particularly hurt anyone but these are fucking horrible people.

Love your podcasts broskeets. Sounds like Forest is showing signs of alcoholism… No judgement. But I hope he can recognize it so it doesn’t get bad. There is a spectrum of alcoholism and I feel like Forest is on the mild end of that spectrum. But I wish him the best and hope I’m wrong about him. Just hope he can identify the early signs & not slip into denial.
I think all three of these guys are on the spectrum of alcoholism proudly and intentionally.
