I made it about a minute and a half through this. Even for this type of movie, this was a very poorly designed fight scene. A simple fact that a machete half way through your forearm would disable that arm, but there's Scott, still using the arm and even swinging the machete with it. I recently saw a video where people were discussing why Adkins doesn't get more credit for his roles, and this type of movie explains a lot for me.
I thought Scott was a universal soldier too. His hand to hand combat skills hold off JCVD, but JCVD is tossing him around like a ragdoll. I wonder why Scott's kicks and punches aren't doing the same to JCVD.
You've seen one Van Damme fight - you've seen them all. He is a good man and an artist. Not an actor. It's a pity that he already needs makeup to hide his old age.
