Rest In Peace Steve Albini.
Steve would have hated this video. Rest in peace.
Hahaaa,hell yea
100% but he would endorse having his ashes fired from a cannon into the Spiderland lake in Utica, IN. He didn’t work on that album, but still.
rest in glory, Steve. what an original.
Albini truly had a major impact on the Seattle grunge scene in more ways than one. He was a true punk and never let that go. Big Black was one of the most crucial bands for the 80’s. Rest easy Albini.
What a shame. He was a brilliant engineer and took part in some really legendary recordings. RIP Steve!
He was a REAL ONE. Honest, fair, genuine, and unfortunately in the entertainment industry, rare.
Dang rest easy Steve A. You'll be truly missed❤❤❤
RIP To an OG. Found out yesterday and wow, just nuts.
Just found out, listening to that greyhound record
If you want to learn from the guy you still can. He wrote so much in articles, and even put out a LOT of youtube videos. He describes in fine but easy detail why and what. I highly recommend.
Damn that blows. My whole life I’d catch little quips from Albini on Tv or something and he always made me smile or think. He had skills, and brains and balls
He definitely had all those listed things, I will give the devil his due.
Monumentally influential. The most important producer since Phil Spector.
R.I.P. Steve. 61 may have been far too young but one has to take into consideration he lived three lifetimes, one as the founder of three influential post-hardcore bands, another as an extremely talented and innovative audio engineer with a couple of thousand albums to his name, and one as an all around great guy with an infectious sense if humor.
RIP you will be greatly missed! Thank you for everything.
Rest in power Steve.🤘🏻Steve Albini and Jack endio are my fav producers ever.
Endino... and no they aren't..
Man I would have liked to have heard Albinis mix of the record. Its the "directors cut", so to speak.
Lucky White of the Dude Ranch Playboys applied this same production method and work ethics from 1946 thru 1968. Some of the greatest country western recordings were captured by Lucky many decades ago. He toured and recorded with Les Paul.
"Remixing is for the talentless" is my new favorite quote
RIP my dude. You fought the good fight against lame corporate rock.
He succeeded on In Utero , its a masterpiece.
This bummed me out..First time I heard Kerosene from Big Black back in the early 90’s blow my mind..It was my theme song for teens I lived in a small town in northern New York..This was way before he was mister producer man for Nirvana,PJ Harvey and many amazing Indy punk band like Slint, Brainec and Jesus Lizard..Steve was true D.Y.I punk that mastered his skills and the most funniest man in the Indy world..A real legend of music and life..RIP..We keep your philosophy in recording and soul of D.Y.I indie rock alive
Rest in Peace Legend. Thankyou for the sounds of my youth
RIP Steve! You hated fake people and bullshit!
Albini was the sound of my youth. RIP.
That raw sound was just the trend for that grunge era.
Yeah, he seemed like a cool dude. I didnt like his mixes on In Utero so much. Scott Litt really needs recognition too. RIP Steve.
Does anyone know a way to listen to steves version
Google "I would like to be paid like a plumber full text albini"
Honesty is my only excuse.🖤
dying time is here... sadly
Hell for Steve Albini would be him being stuck in a studio with digital equipment or working “within the box” (using a laptop 💻 for production and mastering)
complete genius in every single thing he did, incredibly smart and humble man. this one is a big big loss :'(
Rip Steve, in utero was something different and is my favourite album then incesticide, bleach, then nevermind.
R.I.P
Just pure raw tone
First take
Very diy I like it
The first man to ever hear In Utero.
All that knowledge went with him.
Great video
How is ‘ punchy ‘ meaningless lol it literally means something tangible and specific.
LEGENDARY.
R.I.P - Albini had a weird mind... he trashed the Pixies as being too open-minded, but then later apologized, later on he often worked with Kim Deal
Yeah he was okay. Not a genius. Not special. But luckily he produced Nirvana, and therefore died with a name. Other than that…
@tonyc stone cold take
GOAT
To remix anything by the man who wrote Kerosene is heresy.
RIP
All the best Steve, will see you when I get there bud...I have some songs I wrote for you to listen to...
I’m a new Nirvana and The pixies fan, I’m glad I got to discover these bands while Steve Albini was still alive, rest in peace
Capture the signal and let the artist be themselves. The methodology of Sam Phillips and Bob Johnston. You can't fix it in the mix.
Steve NEVER held back EVER
Although I appreciate his refreshing approach he himself seemed like a bit of a d. I found the sound that he DID impart on his projects to be caustic and unenjoyable noise.
RIP! Impossible task to record something real. The very definition of recording is to look to the future which changes awareness to performance. Stevecdid the best he could, but it’s a fools game. Before and In between his recordings was his real life and most likely well lived.
The jerky boys quote… 😂😂😂😂
Everything you see is a picture of what you want it to be. It never is the way you think it is. Steve Albini had little to do with the real recordings of most of my songwriting I did in secrecy. These are words, I don’t get credit I don’t get payment. Be kind to the touring groups if they get caught as you were never kind to me when I say that I wrote and recorded the music. Take care. You won’t be in my shoes ever, and I know what I was.
So young. Wonder what is going on with heart attacks all over lately.
Bet he was vaxxed
probably was vaxxed unfortunately
Bad diet? Lack of exercise?
@@theblakex People have blaming the vax for Albini on comments the last few days. But I tend to think he just got a bit too fat? And then bam. Dude was probably the textbook sedentary workaholic studio dude. Lots of sitting. No shade on him, but...that could be. He got quite chubbed out the last decade.
Shellac forever
Someone, who dont want to sell punk credibility...so why take the $100,000?
No way....
Getting an experimental booster shot in honor of steve albini and his inflamed heart
Right? So weird how nobody ever had heart attacks until the last few years. Also... cancer, diabetes, car accidents, and headaches -- all new!!! Who unleashed this scourge upon us???? Fauci!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nooooo!!!!!!!!!
Nirvana Legendarisk musik
awful awful news
he killed nirvana!
Nah...it was Geffen.

If not for Albini's PRODUCTION, In Utero would be nothing more than a footnote as Nirvana's final album. It is grossly overrated.
