Great vid, glad to see you rockin the boots/spurs again!! Have always appreciated your guys love of the old west, it’s something I hold near and dear to my heart!!! We should start calling you the The Fox With No Name! 😉
Man you're prepared for just about anything. I wish Leatherman would bring back the Blast (at a decent price). It's old school in design but still a great medium duty MT for when speed of tool deployment isn't a big deal.
At 3:53 your military can opener is referred to as a P-38 and also called " John Wayne " . Anyway it was back in the 60's with the Marines and the " C" Rations also called "C" Rats. Different locations , different items. Here in Florida for warm weather ( most of the year ). Going ultralight I take items that do double or triple duty. That keeps me from doubling up on any one item. My favorite knife is a Swiss Army knife with a auxiliary saw blade since I use wood ( twigs ) for fuel when cooking.
I live in the White Mountains of Arizona, but have fished around Payson many times also. It is hard to believe that Arizona has over 600 miles of streams and rivers. I enjoy your videos and your EDC and yes you should carry your pistol. Thanks for the video and the music that comes with them.
not for nothing but we wore a bandanna in a belt loop back in the 70's for the same reasons we wear them now. i like the cordage in the boot loops idea, maybe do some large paracord bracelets that can be quickly deployed and dress the look up a little. for that matter a braided paracord set of spurs would be pretty cool, maybe see if one of the paracord channels like weavers of eternity would like to collaborate
Welcome to AZ, Alpine AZ is the best place on earth! The best Fishing and hunting hiking. Don't forget to hit the Western drugstore in Springerville you will love it
Enjoyed the video. Always good content. Love those Justin boots. I've had numerous pairs of them in my life. Ropers, lace up ropers and regular boots. Wore red ropers when I was riding bareback broncs years and years ago.
I'd love the mini Snake Eater for N.Y as blade length is our only restriction for fixed blades. I dont see the option to order the snake eater on the website though as it's not in the "model" menu, let along the mini.. lovr the video! Thank you
If you have Instagram, reach out to woody smith knives and shoot him a message. He’s gotta update the website but I know there’s about 4 orders for mini snake eaters already
Have you thought about a rite in the rain notepad? My buddy is an ex-marine never a ex-marine always a Marine he is. a few of my friends were also in the army they have told me that they carried one while deployed for a long azz time. they are waterproof and last. I I am a carpenter and I work outside year round, and so far while I carry one in tool bags its snowed, rained, and in-between and the pages are still good to go. So this spring has been a great test run!
@@JunkyardFox hahaha that's how I feel about my knifes I have so many I carry different ones depending ony mood or project lol but the rite in the rain is going to be my edc for good I'm getting the bigger one, I might get the olite pen to go with my case the olite pens are bad azz too! But the case for the notebook are weather proof and tough. with a few more pockets for Hidey holes for more small stuff.
enjoyed the update and review, good to see the old boots are still around 👍 ( did I hear right new boots coming soon) and never thought about using that small pocket in my jeans to carry anything, now I know
Great video and glad you had a great time in my state. Theres some good trout fishing on the reservation also. Looking to get me a snake eater mini soon
I was inspired from one of your earlier videos to get one of those granny forks with the Hidden Woodsman sheath. I have found it useful for many things out in the woods. Plus it just looks cool.
Another great edc set up, could be: Multitool: Victorinox Spirit X Main knife: TRC Mille Cuori Small knife: Lionsteel M4 Lighter: Clipper Flashlight: Fenix LD12
Great video man. Payson Az not too far from me. You should check out the Black River just east of Payson. Excellent bass fishing and remote. I can be your guide. San Carlos Apache.
I loved my rovyvon. It was a glow in the dark model but unfortunately i lost it at work, wish the clip was a little deeper. Great little light. That leatherman is awesome, never seen that model. The only straight knofe multi tool i could find with a full size file and saw is the victorinox locksmith (which is funny because i am a locksmith) but havent pulled the trigger yet
James. I'm really thinking about getting the snake eater. I do need at least one stainless full tang knufe, and i really like your design. I just need to save up now.
@@JunkyardFox it would be mainly for fishing, cooking and canoeing. Carbon steel, while i really like it, can be a hassle if you are around water a lot, and your knife gets wet half the day.
The JX3 finally sees retirement, she had a good run! If you’re ever looking to unload it and can give a brother a deal let me know. ;) I need a JX3 to finish off my Chris Tanner collection and it would check my box of having a piece of Junkyard Fox history as well. :)
Awesome set up. And beautiful knives. Have you ever considered caring about half the cordage length that you have on your boot loose. And carrying a braid That have’s about three times the length.? More versatility. PS. Never be ashamed of you’re bang sticks.😁🤘 love a 10-22.
I have a Nitecore Tikki flashlight. It would activate on it's highest setting randomly in my pocket. The heat generated melted my hiking shorts and burned my leg. It would not turn off.
Man, what a gorgeous setting! Nice loadout too, bro. Speaking of EDC, how about you call the smaller version of the Snake Eater just that; the EDC Snake Eater. Just a thought.
I just recently lost my HW M44.I finally got to get back out and hopefully he will make some more soon.We also had to redo out bank account 😒,but will hit you back up on Patreon.

Nice update James. Folks need to know that it's important to update their EDC to accommodate season changes, and environment. Great video!
Very true
In Arizona you can carry concealed without a permit as long as you can legally own a gun. Your Ruger would fit nicely in the haversack.
oh really? i was not aware.
@@JunkyardFox Look up "Constitutional carry" and you will find there are more states that allow it.
Mini snake eater = "Theres a snake in my boot"
Absolutely great idea for keeping your paracord. I ALWAYS wear western boots, so I'm going to have to try that trick on my next outing
Love your vids man! You should definitely convince him to make more of those packs! I've wanted one ever since you did your video on it.
ill see what he says
@@JunkyardFox you are the man! Keep up the good work! I'm saving up for the snake eater btw. That thing is gorgeous

true, but when you wear a much lighter and thinner straw hat, it just feels less stuffy
