I love hearing about people's journey to move abroad but the fact that this young man is so mature and so responsible like for himself and his life of his child in him stepping out and making all those plans and decisions based off of the fact that he is a single father is lovely. And people tend to say that black men don't take care of their children,and this right here can shut it down because, yes, they do as we very well see from this young man. So proud of him💯

    He mentioned that he can’t stay still too long… some people bounce around a lot because they’re searching for something on the outside that is on the inside. I thought the first reason he was going to give for moving to Thailand was to raise his daughter up in a safer place. I’m wondering if he has a special visa since he has a child, that would keep him from having to do border runs?? I think Thailand is a great place to raise your child, if you’re able to do that without having to move around a lot to prevent the constant uprooting of the child. Because when you have a child that’s small… Everything and I mean absolutely everything has to be in the child’s best interest. As a Military Wife, who raised 2 children with the U.S. Army, believe me…I know.👍🏼👍🏼👏👏💕💕

    • @Twtybird1
      @Twtybird1 11 дней назад +3

      I was reading about obtaining the proper visas in advance from a Royal Thai Embassy before arrival, to avoid those border runs. Tiwan(?) did a lot of research so he would have checked that out, but I think it would be helpful for other people to know how he dealt with it. When it comes to documentation like that, a person can never hear it too much! So great to hear how important he considers his young child’s education. I’m interested in knowing how well he’s picking up the language?

    • @fortheloveofjan
      @fortheloveofjan 11 дней назад +1

      @ The DTV Visa is a good one for remote workers, freelancers, or if you earn an income from another Country, but is temporarily residing in Thailand. Because instead of the Visa run being at 90 days, with the DTV Visa the visa run is at 180 days. But you still have to do a Visa run regardless. I think the only way to get around doing a visa run is to get an Educational Visa or if you’re over 50, a Retirement Visa. And I also think you don’t have to do a visa run if you are hired and sponsored by a Thailand company.

      Songkran can be pretty annoying though. Even when you dressed nicely and just chilling you could be drenched and soaked in a matter of seconds. It honestly gets old and many expats here tend to leave Thailand when Songkran begins and return when it has ended.

    I think this is super cool 😎 the mother must be understanding because most mothers wouldn’t let their child move that far especially with the visitation

    Probably the best decision you have taken, given how things are in the US...

    Does your guest have a RUclips channel? If not, he should. A black single father raising his child in Thailand would have high interest.

    He chose a good city to raise his daughter in. Bangkok will provide them with a relatively (relative to comparable cities in the US) safe environment, while at the same time be modern enough to cater to their need for convenience and luxuries. It's just like being at home, except with street food and a new culture. His daughter will obviously get the benefit of being a more open minded person when it comes to new peoples and cultures as well, not to mention becoming fluent in Thai. All this, and the fact that businesses in Thailand have a favorable view of western businesses will lend a helping hand to her if it turns out that she has business endeavors in her adult life. She will need to concentrate hard on Thai language learning though, as its so different, especially the writing and grammar. I wish them both the best in their Bangkok life.
