- In 2001, when the Heritage Center museum opened in downtown Springfield, Ohio in the newly restored 1890 city hall/marketplace building, hometown boy Jonathan Winters sat down to record for a promotional video. During that session, he also shared stories about his life and career. In this clip he tells stories about his role in "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World."
Recorded by Paul Cronley of Merlin Productions, c. 2001.
Jonathan Winters always seemed to be such a nice man.
A massive talent. Brilliant comedic mind. Fought his own demons his entire life.
My favorite movie of all time! A timeless classic. Everyone was so over-the-top funny.
One of the great comedic talents in one of the greatest comedies of all time.
In another earlier interview, he states he had just come out of a mental hospital when Stanley Cramer called him to ask him to be in "Mad World" playing Pike the truck driver. He wasn't sure he was up to that just yet. His wife urged him to take the role. He said working on that movie and being with all of those fun people was the best therapy ever. It changed his life essentially and he and Cramer became good friends.
Johnathan Winters was great 😃👍
Great movie
4:15 He cuts off Winters to talk about the Three Stooges. Very rude.
Winters is fascinating when he tells stories but this interviewer is terrible.
This is a girl's bike! This bicycle is for a little girl!!
Jonathan Winters, Rodney Dangerfield, and Eddie Murphy walk into a bar...
