I finished the Aurelian Cycle last night and I’m in a huge book hangover. But I don’t think Fourth Wing can fill the void that Furysong left inside me 😂 and it’ll probably significantly pale in comparison

Thanks for this. I finished fourth wing last month and nothing...I mean NOTHING...has kept my interest since. I've started 3 different books and put them all away for another day because I just couldn't get into them. I keep hearing a lot about fireborne. Maybe I'll give it a go next.
Love The Witcher (bar Netflix ofc), & am enjoying re-reading the books. Also, graphic novels based on The Last Wish stories have been released, and I really liked the first one 'A Grain of Truth'. Re. the video games, there are 3 ofc, & I've played 3 several times (and Platinumed 🙂), so this year will be playing The Witcher 2 & I'm really looking forward to the first game being remade and the 4th - please give us the aftermath of the Conjunction of the Spheres & the formation of the Witcher schools, CDPR!!

If you need a cure for a book hangover I highly recommend "The Five Warror Angels" Series. It is very good.

@ebnovels I am really liking "The Five Warrior Angel" series. There are some scenes that would give Glockta a cringe. Very Dark Grim and bloody with great characters and world.

I LOVED The Atlas Six, but couldn't get into Ninth House. I have Babel and plan on starting it soon, but I'm worried because Dark Academia isn't really my thing.

loved godkiller, definitely want to read the dandelion dynasty series, and do want to check out more carissa broadbent. i read daughter of no worlds a few months ago and was very surprised to like it so much (don’t like the cover, content is surprisingly good though). it’s also good to know that babel and the poppy war are somewhat similar. i’ll be turning it around, when i feel like wanting more poppy war, which i really liked, i’ll finally pick up babel.😊

R. F. Kuang's a great author, although I understand you; for me, her writing occasionally feels academic, more like a textbook-style

Any recs for Abercrombie hangover? Characters like Logen or Ferro?
You could give The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman a try.
Ash and Sand trilogy by Richard Neil has a character vaguely similiar to Logen named Ruka. The trilogy is Grimdark fantasy too.
After reading Abercrombie, I have to switch gears entirely. I go for science fiction or an urban fantasy. When I have tried to find something similar right after reading any of his works, I get disappointed with what I am reading because it doesn’t measure up. This isn’t what you are asking exactly, but I thought it might help.
I think you’d like John Gwynne’s Bloodsworn trilogy. It’s a norse dark-fantasy with very well written combat (like Abercrombie) and there’s multiple pov characters with individual, yet converging, journeys. There’s also a particular trait to some of the people of this world that I think will scratch your itch for more bloody nine.
First law is in my top three fantasy series, and so is Bloodsworn.
