When shooting still life images I use shower curtains to defuse or kill the light. I bought some paintings from a charity shop and some white and some black shower curtains I made about six of each, all different sizes and use them to control the light. I like the subtlety of the light using reflectors and difusers. The deconstruction of images is very usefull.
