Is the heat from the high pressure side of the system typically used to heat the store as well? I work in the meat cutting department at a supermarket and it’s very cold in our store. When I found out the condensers were outside the store (near receiving in our case), it made sense why the store was so cold. The way these systems are designed basically turns the entire store into a refrigerator.
@@ayeeniko If you mean other than the meat cutting area then the owners are probably being cheap about it if its like that during the winter time. But if you work in the meat department its always going to be cold in there.
Have worked on supermarket refrigeration most of my life. Retired now, don't miss the 2 am phone call because a store has a 9 watt motor out in a 12 foot dairy case! Or water dripping on the produce cooler floor at 1am when no one is even working in the department!
@3cats932 do you work for a HVAC cntractor, or are you an in-house guy? I would apply to a commercial refrigeration company in your area, you can also work for a national company like hussman. You'd probably be going for an apprentice position, having a hvac background will help tremendously.
On residential refrigerator's I noticed the freezers will only get down to negative 2 degrees Fahrenheit. Is it a design flaw? Since icecream should be colder. Great video
@@mattheww3116 Yes it does matter which rotation. If you look at the blade you will see that it is concaved. It is shaped like a scoop. The fan should turn in the rotation that the blade "scoops" the air towards you
Can those fridge doors open by them selves cuz a week ago I was at Safeway in the milk aisle at night by my self and all the fridge doors behind me like 5 or 4 opened up like 3/4 and then shut. The area just felt weird
If it’s a milk case but also a walk-in cooler usually when someone shuts the door from the other side the air pressure forces the outside doors to open
A helper in a NYC union starts about $18 per hour. This is if you are totally green. For the next 5 years, you get raises until you become a Journey Man. At that rate, you would make about $42.00 per hour in the union
I did hvac for 20 years and yes you are correct, it's 24 hour work. I shut down my company in 2020 due to Covid and I now tender to my real estate investments. Supermarkets are a pain in the ass and yes they will call you at any time of the day or night and when they do, they want you there immediately, like in 1 hour or less!! I learned quickly and really honed my skills working on those compressor racks but after a few years I stopped working for supermarkets, got tired of the unrealistic demands they put on you and the pay isn't great, most large supermarket owner (or company) are very cheap, they want million dollar service for pennies on the dollar and they are absolutely always on the hunt for someone to replace you who will work for cheaper than you.
The only video on RUclips that explains what I do at work

This was pretty cool and well done
Nice Mullet!!
Oh my god! I’m in the HVAC School and I started to like refrigeration.
You'll never see such a clean roof 🤣
Must be a new store
Captain Mullet can fix anything, or his mullet would not be near that luxurious.
His mullet is bigger than her ponytail.
😂😂😂👍👍
Nice video , please continue.
This is what I work on and I love it

What do utilities run on buildings such as this each month? Would it be close to $25,000?
The coolest part of this video is that dude's hair.
Putting this video on my resume lol
Just wondering about the backward spinning fan motor at 6:58
It doesn't matter which way the fans spin. But it's best if it draws the air upwards

R507 is not envirofriendly today, its a good refrigerant, but bad för the enviroment, use co2 instead.
Congratulation You have a pretty truck or car i speak litle English
And they probably go on a defrost and they go through a condenser On the roof of most buildings
How much do supermarket refrigeration hvac techs make (starting salary)???

Why did I just watch this.

Not enough time to look at the diagram before narrative starts - "hustling" effect.
