So this is the FIRST time I heard this song from 1987 and I was NOT expecting this! This was really refreshing, and a good song! I loved the guitar solo too, what a surprise indeed.

This is one of my favourites of Agnetha solos post ABBA. Still, I don't think it was a big hit back in the day. Her ability to use power and softness in her voice during just one phrase is magnificent. I feel the chills every time she sings the word "paradise" in this song. Considering her talent as a singer and her beauty, it sure makes one wonder how such perfection can even exist!

'her ability ro use power and softness in her voice during just one phrase is magnificent' so accurately described.I was always seduced by the way she was singing 'with such tenderness in her voice the part where she goes .'.let me wrap my arms around you/let me loose you like i found you, make it feel like paradise',while the preceded part 'if its the last time' was way more poignant and punchy. She knew how to use her voice and how to provoke sentiments.

In early '90s ex lead singer of heavy metal band King Kobra did a rock cover to this song.Originally It's a power pop/rock ballad dressed so beautifuly with Agnetha's' mettalic' vocal colours. Both strong but also velvet in parts each now and then. One of my top 3 solo Agnetha songs ever.I love the album as well as the photos on the cover sleeve esp the back side.A blonde blue-eyed dream.

In her post-ABBA career, Agnetha did not experiment with her style of music as much as Frida did. She stayed true to the style that suited her best. Whichever song you listen to from Agnetha's solo albums, you might probably like all of them because of it. The Last Time is a shining example of that. It's a fantastic song that compliments Agnetha's voice perfectly.

Yep! All of Agnethas' solo albums are fredoncoulaslly amazing! Both Frida and Agnetha deserved more exposure after the ending of Abba.
All their Chiquititoes around the world bought the solo albums l'm sure. As for this song...Her voice is showcased to perfection. Gorgeous!

ABBAMAN....this song was taken from her third solo english album called i stand alone produced by peter cetera of chicago. i believe there is an extended version of this to listen to. some of my fav agnetha solo songs are i wont lt you go. one way love written by jeff lynne of elo, cant shake loose, man which she wrote. wrap your arms around me let it shine, dance your pain away and all her duets with thomas ledin. ola hakensson and gary barkow you have so much to listen to by agnetha not even including her swedish singles you will be reacting to her for years. you will enjoy them all

The whole album is good. I really like this song. The live performance is suspiciously good, very good. I almost thought that it was a playback, but I can hear very tiny differences between the studio version and this one. Maybe she sings live to a playback. It's not important. It is a good song and I have always liked it.

It peaked at No.77 in the UK. I don't know what competition it had but very few of the solo singles by Agnetha or Frida did much in the charts. I suspect a reason was that people were just depressed that it wasn't actually ABBA or that she wasn't styled the way they expected? The post-ABBA songs weren't that bad but I suppose they just blended in with others without the specific "ABBA sound". The ABBA nostalgia hadn't kicked in yet in 1987, so I think the general public weren't in the mood for their solo careers.

Why no Rock solo? Agnetha always had a Rock voice, so nothing inappropriate here.
She had so many underappreciated songs in the eighties on her albums, yet she probably go measured always with the ABBA-scale and couldn't keep up with this.
One of my favorites of that time is "Maybe it was magic".
Please, also consider strongly, to take one or two ears to her latest solo album "A", a masterpiece in my ears.
P.S. Glad you didn't mention hairstyle and fashion of the 80's, very thankful for that.
