@Kenzy Vidalo First off they aren't K-Pop artists, Penomeco is a rapper and RnB-singer while YDG is also a rapper. I know if something is Korean it's considered Kpop most of the time, but both are active in K-Hiphop industry: Two different pairs of shoes :). And Peno said that he was inspired by WizKid himself, now I'm not African so I'm nobody to tell if this is appropriation or appreciation, but I imo this is 100% meant to be appreciation.

The reason this is a problem is because, African artist just started getting visibility internationally with Afrobeats and they haven't had their fair share of fame yet, when Kpop became a thing people associated Kpop with exclusively Korean people but we may soon start seeing non Africans being the biggest Afrobeats artist soon and there would be a struggle as to where it originated from, if we are not careful and we think it's okay to have Korean Afrobeats artist instead of having our Nigerian artist being promoted in those places, when we start seeing people like Penomeco getting Grammy awards for Afrobeats categories, we would know the damage we are doing to ourselves...
