Why does GST on sales go to the SAME account as on purchases when you need to know how much your rebate will be?

Hi there. Can you tell me if I was getting invoices from a sister company and they were just dividing the HST but does not reflect the HST on the net (very complicated bill and can't tell what is taxable) that Bell has on it's account, how would this be billed to me? I suggested to put it as a line item to pay as the taxes would not reflect the rest of the items in the invoice. If it is put in the items, how would I enter that as when I put it in my bill as an expense and I entered the HST as the category it gave me a warning message. I have to put it under something else. How would you do this? Appreciate your input on this WEIRD issue. 😁

Using QB desktop 2020 (non-profit version) and I wish I had this when I jumped into QB. Can I delete a sales tax and set it up again? I set up sales taxes for all the provinces but many of them are not showing up in the Tax code or item list to choose. I'd like to delete and use your steps to set them up again. Would deleting them impact past invoices?

I'm not sure Missy, you may want to try Intuit support for questions like that, it's not something I've tried to do.
