Thank you so much. I never had a yarn cake before. I found my end in about three seconds. You saved me from lots of tears and frustration.
ur a magician and i love u, I used this on a jumbo cake from a completely different brand and it worked perfectly !
THANK YOU. The meeting fingers in the middle and grabbing yarn with index and thumb worked PERFECTLY!
Thank you for watching! 🍂
I'm using Stenliyarn Muffin yarn cakes and had no idea how to find yarn ends, I was alway getting horrendous yan barfs. Thank goodness I came across your video, you've saved my life!!! Thank you so much!!!
Hi! Ohmygosh that made me laugh so hard!!! I'm so glad we could help reduce the 'barfs'!!
Thank you. I also found the end this way on lion brand comfy gotten blend. I felt sort of stupid having to watch your video to figure out how to find it, but then I realized it MUST be a common problem or else you wouldn't have made the video. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!
Thank you sooooo much. Had no idea how to find this beginning yarn. Was actually a little ball in the middle once I had my fingers together in the middle. 😊
We're happy you found it helpful!
thank you. I couldn't for the life of me find the end of my Caron one pound skein, and this video helped. It's a wider skein than in the video so I had to dig around a little and it felt weirdly veterinary, but now I can being crocheting. This video was a lifesaver.
Glad we could help! Thank you for watching 😊
You're a Life saver❣️ I'm using Mandela yarn to make a chain stitch scootie/scarf and No where on the package or any visible signs of an end peice. Once again thanks a million 💖
Thanks for the info. I like companies that have left and right arrows pointing to center pull and side pull
Be well ! 🦋
Thank you so much for instructing on how to find the ends of yarn in a skein. That's very helpful!
Great info, I've spent hours trying to find the ends. I'll definitely give this a try. Thank you.
Thank you. This worked like a charm. I came out with a tiny little ball out about just 4 feet. Again thanks very much
Thank you for watching Cheri!
Oh my gosh, you just saved me from sooo much frustration!! Thank you!
We're so glad we could help!
This worked like a charm. Thank you!
Hey Jayda, thank you so much for the information I always have a problem with ends while crocheting. My husband has to come to the rescue and untangle my yarn. Finally can try an easier way and save some time.
Anita Ruiz my husband does the same for me😊
aww! That's so sweet :)
I've had a cake of Mandala yarn, and the center piece popped out, and MAN I experienced quite a bit of tangles! I was up all night trying to untangle that messy yarn, while at the same time, I was frustrated with it. The next day, I was trying to work with the tangles yarn, and again, I was so frustrated to the point that I said, 'I'm done!' and ended up throwing the messy tangled part of the yarn away! I still got most of it, must when saw your nice video, that really helped--thank you so much!!
Hi Patrice! We've all been there! How upsetting that you ended up losing so much of the yarn. I'm glad this helped, hopefully, we'll all have fewer frustratingly knotted messes in the future!
Yes Ma'am! I hope that I can try to do a little better as well. Thank you again for your help!
because of your reply I think I am going to use outside strand to start my Shawl in a Cake from Lion Brand! it is very fuzzy and I fear if I start inside I will end up in same position
Omg this is SO helpful! I'm starting my very first cardigan with a beautiful Caron Cotton cake and was so lost how to find the center pull! Thank you so much!
We're happy we could help!
This is great, basic information that a lot of yarn people don't know that they don't know. Thanks for being so helpful.
Been crocheting most my life but until today I've rarely been successful (warm nod to RHSupersaver..I hear you) at fishing out a starting end until I've deconstructed the entire skein. Thank you so much.💜
Thank you for watching!
You’re a lifesaver! Thank you!
I have a cake of completely different yarn and I found the end! THANK YOU - you've made my day!
Wonderful! We're glad we could help 😊
Thank you so much! I’ve had some nightmare yarns that I had to unravel lol! It was probably just me getting impatient! Have a great day!
* giggle * I've been there! I once tossed a giant knotted mess onto the floor and threatened it with scissors LOL
Wow.. I did what you said and it worked on first try...thank u.
Jayda! Thank you! Thank you! I just purchased my first Caron Baby cake of yarn and with your help, I found the end almost right away!!! Yay!
Fantastic! Thank you for watching 😊
Oh my goodness I love that blue Caron cakes have not seen that in Chicago stores yet. Thank you so much
It worked, Jayda!! You're a genius. Thank you so much This is my first experience using a yarn cake. . I was so frustrated with a skein getting tangled so badly that I ended up ripping out the last round of my border and leaving the project that way cause I never wanted to see that yarn again!!
We're so glad we could help! Thank you for watching Linda :)
Sometimes when I buy the cakes, if I can't find the inside end. I simply use my ball winder and wind from the out side.( I hate yarn barf lol) If I want to start with the color that was in the middle to begin with, I just rewind it again. (Yellow in the middle becomes yellow on the out side. Rewind and the yellow will be in the middle again) . But most of the time I can find the inside end. Also if you are using a ball winder, if you put a piece of contrasting yarn on the end where you start the wind, you will be able to see it easier. Have a peaceful day.😊 everyone and stay safe.
P.S. love your show.💖 stay safe, keep calm and carry on. 😄
Thanks, you really helped me with the bernat baby blanket yarn I'm using to crochet a blanket. I unraveled the first ball from the outside, now the second half of my blankie should go much quicker. I'm following your corner to corner baby blanket video. I love your videos! Thank you. 😄
Hi! We're so glad to hear that :) Thank you for watching!
I have never had a problem with the Caron Cakes. And I have yet to try the Bernat Pops
Thank you for the tip Jayda, see you Friday🌺
:)
I do that with all prewound yarn, not just cakes. Means it flows at better tension and doesn't jump around, so no yarn bowl needed.
Thanks Jayda! Once again you came to my rescue!👍
Hi Olga! We're happy to help :)
Thank you hun.... Lol you don't have to clue how much times I've pulled the "guts" out of the middle of yarn. Most of the time I just wrap it around the skeen or roll it in a ball starting close to the skeen.
Hi Tinna, sometimes we still end up pulling out a ton of yarn! In that case, I just try to use it up first to avoid further knots down the road!
Jayda, thanks for the tip, I tried it and it does work! I had to do a deep dive to locate the inside strand!! Thanks again
Hi Inga, we're happy we could help :)
Hi Jayda, after you find the inside end, you can put that center clump of yarn in a zip lock baggie. It will keep the clump from twisting while you pull from the center. I hope that makes sense lol
yes thank you this is very helpful. this tip worked for me in the uk with a brand called. "Loren" available at Wilko's.
Thank you! This is the part that makes me crazy😂
It can really drive you mad 😂
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much! I have the hardest time finding the ends of my sweet rolls this was so helpful!!!!
Hi! We're happy we could be helpful :) Thank you for watching!
Very nice yarn/crochet site..Jayda has a new fan/viewer😁
Hi Bev, welcome to the big, crafty family :)
Thank you for this video. I had to do your two finger move and pinch the yarn out with my thumb. I finally found the end! Yay!!
These beautiful cakes were on clearance! I got three super excited for new projects
Oooh! Clearance yarn is SO hard to pass up!
Thanks your video finding the end piece. Worked great😁😁
I kind of do like you did with pulling a little pouch out of the center But I think it's funny that this is your video today, only because I have seen so many people making video's and going on a rant because they can't find the start/end, so for them and anyone that this makes annoyed Thank you and Happy crocheting!
Gosh! Well, hopefully this helps anyone who's a bit upset with their yarn!
Thank you SOOOOOO much!!! This was super helpful.
Thank you for watching Deanna 😊
This was great!!! Thank you!
AWESOME! Literally found my end at the three minute mark!
That’s the most gorgeous yarn!!! I can’t wait to see what you make with it!!
Thank you for this vid, it even helped me find the end of a *Carnival* Australian yarn!!!
Duuuude you just saved my LIFE! Thank you!
I find untangling yarn as a form of therapy. I know it’s nuts. I place a hair clip on the end when it’s not in use so I won’t have to dig once again.
I love untangling it too. Such an achievement once its done x
I totally agree, Lori! I find it sort of a Zen activity to sort through a particular big bunch of knots :)
Lori Lynette i
I used to love untangling but recently I got my yarn tangled so bad it took hours. I ended up getting so frustrated lol I think I need a break from untangling
Thanks for the hint! This is going to come in handy!
Happy to help!

This was such a great tip. It worked perfect with the Lion Brand Cupcake yarn. Wish I'd watched this before I made a complete tangled mess of my first one lol!

Thank you for watching, Melinda :)
@@JaydaInStitches i love love love your channel watching in Forks Washington ♥♥
Thank you so much for this tip. I tried it and it really works well.
Thank you so much!!! This was helpful and saved me from undoing the entire cake!
The Red Heart label thing only works if they put the label on right. I got one that was upside down.
Melanie Cravens 🙁 I had that happen too. I was not happy.
That often happens when someone in the store wants to see what the pattern on the inside looks like. Then they put it back on wrong.
This was very helpful.love your tutorials.
I started doing that when I saw the inside ends weren't visible. Love your channel.
It works!!
They should have that ready just like Red Heart does... makes it a lot easier to deal with..
WHOA this was SO helpful, thank you!! 💗
Thank you so so much! I really needed this info!
That was very helpful. See you Friday! 👍☔
:)
Thanks I will try to remember how to do that.
Great information. I was always wondering about that.

That was a greT tip ..one I can surely use tks so so much see you Friday
I ended up having to rewind 4 of the yarn bee sugarwheels with my ball winder, because the ends were no where to be found. So I have a love/hate for these type of yarns. Beautiful yarn, but hate trying to find the ends.
Great tip! Thank you very much!
Awesome...very helpful info thnx do much🥰
