I think it's nice to see Luther Vandross sit in the audience and watch Chaka Chan sing one of his hit songs, which is "The Glow Of Love", and it's also nice to see him dance to the song as well. This program sure brings back good memories, and I do say that Luther Vandross was not only a great singer, but he was also one of the nicest people everybody knew and loved, and he was also a generous man who deserved good treatment. It's so sad that he passed away and was gone too soon in 2005, but we can still remember him, even from this program. And even though Luther is deceased and no longer with us, he still lives on through his music legacy, and he will forever be remembered as one of the greatest singers that ever lived. And this program is something good to remember him from. It's also good to see him as skinny Luther and that's how I like and want to remember him. And I think had Luther stayed skinny like this and not gained back the weight, he probably would not have had a stroke that he suffered and still be alive today. Him being big and overweight is what caused his stroke and death, so that's why I say that it's good to see him as skinny Luther from this program. And not only that, Luther also looks to be in good health sitting in the audience from this program.
Love Chaka Khan and Luther Vandross, well, he's the King! And he died too young, wish he was still with us and know, with God's grace that he is living a better life!
It's odd, the only four people shown not being able to look at the singer also looked like they would be responsible for the sound being tampered with or not available at a volumne. It was and still is heavenly. 2+27+2024
I believe Luther should have sung this song and had the Change band accompany him along with his backup singers. The song picks up at 1:42 , 1:56, 2:36 . Chaka did good. They should have also pulled out his original band Luther from the 70s to highlight his earlier career.
This is a wonderful version and a really great song for Chaka. It would be a delight to see it included on her next alum. Anybody know if this is available anywhere with slightly better sound quality ?
I thought the same thing. She's leaving a lot to the backup singers. Oh, she is still great and one of a kind. Looks like there are both red And white wines on the tables haha.
I believe that Chaka and Luther had a falling out that was never resolved at this tribute. I think Luther had pissed her off and you can tell by her half hearted performances. Think about It she didn’t sing papillon or the night I fell in love which are her favorite songs by luther.
Wow, usually I love Chaka, but this one ... not so much. Better to have Luther come up and do it the right way. Unless she was trying to mellow it down a bit.
I remember watching this live with my wife. We both said that she looked high and certainly didn't know the song at all. Far too many people give Chaka a pass for her live performances, which are often not very good based on what I've seen here on RUclips. She was great before drugs got the best of her IMO. I tend to avoid anything from her post 1990 because her voice just isn't there.
Chaka always starts by flying off into outer space but at the end of a phrase she LANDS IT. That’s JAZZ. Gosh I love it.
I like this rendition- Good kob Chaka.
The background singers were on point!

A GREAT TRIBUTE by a great artist, my homegirl, Chaka Khan to the King, RIP, Luther Vandross!
I wish someone would repost her performance of "Creepin'" from this tribute. She killed that.
She sings everything well. She makes any song her own.
I Love this rendition she didn't sound like Luther but like Chaka Khan For me she sounded good
@2:35 They've got their own dance going, LOL!

Thanks for the upload. Awesome! Seeing Chaka and the incredible Luther in one video.
Chaka sang this the original key. Well done!
I love me some Luther i play him everyday live love love him
This music is one of the few good things that Italy did in all over the last 30 years.
non conosci la musica italiana...
Yes. Luther is the best

Chaka Khan is so sexí!
i thought she was on something at first then wisdom took over

Pat Lacey's tenor voice is quite dominant.
I came here for Luther, WTF!!
Wish her mic was louder
rise band and show
I feel like Chaka wasn't too familiar with this song lol she sang great but you can tell she didn't really know if
Mauro Malavasi and Davide Romani composers!!!!

Andy Engle Not her finest moment
One think with luther is either he was to big or too slim.
She sang this with no feeling??? Are we listening to the same song???
What
-
+Tyjah Khan
Problem is the playback in disco version. Live - I'm absolut convinced - she would perform it thousand times better.
she killed that song she was rubbish or off her head lol
she killed that song she was rubbish or off her head lol
Guess she was not doing well on that day ...or a little bit high
She's wasted!!!!

LOL...Then it's a good thing HE liked her...as so many other singers.
@@septemberjanuary4636 What does this have to do with my comment? If you enjoyed this, more power to you.
@@darrell9616 If my response isn't obvious...then more power to you (and your wife) as well.
Not a great performance. Chaka didn’t seem committed to the performance. She’s too seasoned to be sounding mediocre.
She must be high
She doesnt sing this well at all......theres no feeling in it :-S
Lame!
